Catalog numbes and specification details shall be based on 2700 Designe Seies by Stevens Industies, Inc., Teutopolis, Illinois. 2 B. Appovals: 1. Casewok of othe manufactues shall be consideed fo appoval, poviding witten equest is eceived and appoved at least ten (10) days pio to announced bid date and appoved by addendum. Bidde shall state in witing any deviations fom equiements and specifications. The casewok shall confom to the configuation, aangement, design, mateial quality, joiney, panel thickness and sufacing of that specified and shown on dawings. 2. Manufactues equesting appoval shall submit samples with cut-aways showing cabinet constuction, joiney, dawe and doo constuction, hadwae and mateials, along with catalogs and specification, in ode that accuate evaluations can be made. Manufactues shall show full size woking samples. Catalogs and specifications shall be submitted with witten equest, along with detailed list of compliance and deviations fom these documents fo appoval. Samples may be impounded by owne and etained until completion of job fo veification and compliance of specifications. Othe acceptable manufactues (must comply with specifications): TMI Systems Case Systems LSI Copoation of Ameica 3. Manufactue must be Achitectual Woodwok Institute (AWI) Pemium Cetified. 4. Manufactue s fully assembled cabinets must be GREENGUARD GOLD cetified. 5. Manufactue shall show evidence of being dedicated to envionmentally esponsible pactices. Manufactue shall be cetified as achieving this goal by the Composite Panel Association (CPA). 6. Manufactues equesting appovals shall have independently tested thei poducts and be able to submit documentation of esults meeting Scientific Equipment and Funitue Association (SEFA) equiements. Testing unde SEFA 8 Cabinet Stuctual Tests (Sections 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, 7.0 and 9.0) and Table Stuctual Tests (Section 10.0) equied. 7. Manufactue shall show evidence of having a minimum of five (5) yeas expeience in the manufactue and installation of casewok fo pojects of simila size and complexity SUBMITTALS A. A peliminay set of submittal dawings shall accompany the quotation. B. Shop Dawings: Shall be submitted fo appoval afte fomal notification of awad of contact. Dawings shall consist of floo plans indicating aangement and elation to adjacent wok and equipment and complete elevations of casewok. Cabinet: 1. Exposed finished ends, fonts, modesty panels and finished backs shall be Themally Fused Laminate (TFL) two (2) sides. Doo and Dawe Fonts: Shall be 3/4" thick, with face laminate as descibed in 2.01.A. Fonts shall be edged with (.020") flat edge PVC extusion. Automated hot melt adhesive application and timming. 2. Glazed Famed Doos: Shall be 3/4" thick, one (1) piece panel with cutout fo insetion of tempeed glass pane, held in place with extuded tim mounting. 3. Glass Doos: Sliding glass o hinged glass doos shall be tempeed glass. B. Mounting Fames: Shall be 3/4" thick stuctual membes. C. Wall Cabinets: Components shall be 3/4" thick membes thoughout. Toe Kicks: Base and Tall cabinets shall be an integal base design. Constuction of end panels, cabinet bottoms and hoizontal toe kick membes shall be integally joined togethe fo geate stuctual stength. This design facilitates load tansfe fom uppe loaded aeas diectly though cabinet end to floo, educing lowe joint stesses. (Sepaate attached bases not acceptable.) G. Backs: 1. Cabinet Back System: Shall be composed of 1/4" pefinished MDF back captued in side and hoizontal gooves. Unit back shall be futhe integated with attachment to 3/4" doweled-in mounting fames. Fixed backs shall be mechanically fastened into gooves and sealed with hot melt adhesive. Combination of back with 3/4" fame shall ceate a 1" integated stuctual mounting system. (Compliant to AWI Pemium Gade and SEFA Pefomance Testing) 2. Removable Backs: Shall be in sink cabinets, set in bottom goove and attached to back fames with scews. H. Adjustable Shelves: Shelves 36" o less in length shall be 3/4" thick. Shelves ove 36" in length shall be 1" thick. I. Dawes: Fou (4) sided full box design with sepaate attached font shall be povided. Dawe membes shall be 3/4" thick with dowel pin constuction at all fou (4) cones. Dawe bottoms shall be 1/4" MDF tapped in goove fou (4) edges as well as mechanically fastened. Entie dawe box shall be TFL laminated. (Dawes with ovelay applied bottoms, non-captued goove o with staple butt o lap joint constuction not acceptable.) J. File Dawes: Shall be a fou (4) sided box design with sepaate attached font. Dawe membes shall be laminated and have dowel pin constuction at all fou (4) cones. Dawe bottom shall be laminated 1/4" MDF coe tapped in goove fou (4) edges, as well as mechanically fastened. 1/2" file dawe sides shall include file hanging ails. Full extension ball beaing suspensions shall be BIFMA 120# load tested slides. K. Lateal File Dawes: Shall have dowel pin and bolt-though constuction. Lateal file dawes shall have full extension side mounted ball beaing slides with 200# load ating COUNTERTOPS Countetops shall be povided based on dawings and specific applications. 9 A. Laminate Countetops: Shall be 1-1/16" (27mm) thick with solid coe stuctues and laminated with backe sheet. Countetops shall be HPL, themoset to coe using catalyzed Polyvinyl Acetate (PVA) glue with minimum aveage pessue of 80 PSI and aveage 180 degee F tempeatue. Decoative laminate shall meet NEMA LD Hoizontal Gade Standad (HGS) specification standads. Laminate pattens shall be selected fom Stevens Standad offeing. Laminate Countetop design equied: LS00C: 90 degee postfom seamless font edge countetop with matching applied 90 degee postfom edge backsplash and applied self edge endsplash. LS05C: 3mm PVC edge countetop with applied 3mm PVC edge backsplash and endsplash. Matching 3mm edging fom Stevens Standad offeing. B. Solid Suface (Polyme) Countetops: Shall be fabicated fom 1/2" thick acylic cast sheets. Sheets shall be continuous cast themoset acylic esins in combination with Aluminum Tihydate (ATH) and pigments. Solid suface countetops shall have downtuned leading edges with oveall top thickness of 1-1/8" (29mm). Faces shall be polished to a matte suede finish with 3mm cones as standad. Countetops shall be additionally stengthened with adhesive-applied longitudinal composite wood undestuctue fo mounting to cabinets and suppots. Spans shall not exceed 36" without intemediate suppots. Acylic sink bowls shall be factoy installed, integal one (1) piece. Solid suface pattens shall be selected fom manufactue s standad colo offeing. Solid Suface Countetop design equied: PS59C: 3R/3R pofile edge countetop with applied.5b/0 pofile edge backsplash and endsplash. PS79C: 3R/3R pofile edge countetop with integal coved.5b/0 pofile edge backsplash and applied.5b/0 pofile edge endsplash STEVENS STANDARD OPTIONS Wall top and bottom 1" thick. 10 PART 3 EXECUTION 3.01 INSTALLATION A. The installe shall examine the job site and the conditions unde which the wok in this section is to be pefomed and notify the contacto in witing of any unsatisfactoy conditions. Do not poceed with wok unde this section until unsatisfactoy conditions have been coected in accodance with AWI s Quality Standads Illustated (cuent edition) and Stevens Industies, Inc. s Site Conditions. B. Casewok, countetops and elated mateials to be conditioned to aveage pevailing humidity condition in installation aeas pio to stat of wok. C. Install casewok and countetops with factoy-tained supevision, authoized by manufactue. Casewok shall be installed plumb, level, tue and staight with no distotions (shim as equied). Casewok shall be secuely attached to building stuctue with anchoage devices of appopiate type, size and quantity to meet applicable codes, specifications and safety conditions. Whee casewok and countetops abut othe finished wok, scibe and tim to accuate fit, and caulk as equied. D. Adjust casewok and hadwae so that doos and dawes opeate smoothly without wap o bind. Lubicate opeating hadwae as needed. E. Repai, o emove and eplace, defective wok as diected upon completion of installation. F. Advise poject site supeintendent of poblems and pecautions fo potection of casewok and countetops fom damage by othe tades until acceptance of the wok by the owne. G.
