Refreshments are available, soft drinks, coffee and water. Somebody please bring cookie to go along with the donuts. GET YOUR WIRTZ OUT! Greg Wirtz is returning again this year for our show. He will also be teaching a relief carving class Nov. 6, 7 & 8, We have several new members who are interested in relief carving but have never seen INTAGLIO style relief carving. So If you have taken one of Greg s classes please bring your class piece for display. This will serve to educate and also promote this upcoming seminar. We will have a SHOW AND TELL display table. Please bring several items, something new, something old, something unfinished. Please place your name with each carving you bring. There will be a drawing held at the close of the business sessions for a Dremel tools hanger/stand donated by Kent Ellison. For each item you bring for the display you will receive one free ticket. 2 JUST A FEW WORDS... from the club president WOW! I can t believe how fast this month is going by. As you can tell the newsletter is several days late. Time flies whether you are having fun or not! ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING Our annual business meeting and election of officers will take place during our September meeting. Have you nominated any one for office yet? Did you check with them first to see if they would be willing to serve? Dave Sikkelee is the chairman of the Nominating Committee and he would like to hear your recommendations for officers. His address and phone number is on the following page. We need about six volunteers. JIM HART WOOD SALE Jim Hart of GOOD WOOD will be here on September 12th with a trailer load of wood. The annual TRAIN SHOW is also scheduled for the same weekend. So Jim s trailer will be parked behind the Cultural Center on the Sport Center paved drive. We will have a couple of tents set up there to protect the wood from the sun. If you have ordered wood from Jim make sure someone is available to pick it up that morning. SEMINARS Be sure and check out the list of seminars we have lined up, there is always something to be learned. Michele Parson had a good pyrography seminar this month. We need for you to participate. Donated items do not have to be wood carvings. Barbel Amos (Buddy s wife) always donates a nice painting, and last year one of the most poplar items was a HONEY BAKED HAM GIFT CERTIFICATE. Once again this year the JOHN C. CAMPBELL FOLK SCHOOL is donating a scholarship worth approximately $500. Have you decided what you are doing? EXHIBIT - EXHIBIT - EXHIBIT - EXHIBIT One of the most impressive features of our show last year was the large number of members who had exhibit table. Having professional carvers exhibit is fine, but ordinary members is better! Please set aside time to exhibit at our show again this year. We really need you to make our show a success.
