In addition to the pin that each new member and their sponsor receive when they join, Past LITPC President Al Stack has also been sending new members a box of about 100 random pins as a gift. If you are not a member, and have an interest, contact any LITPC member, including myself. Jim Schiebel, 748 Wiler Road, Hilton, NY jschiebel@rochester.rr.com New MD20 Digital Image Pin Catalog Available Bob denormand and Mike Morris have prepared and published the new 2010 Digital Image Pin Catalog of MD-20 pins. Over 3300 pictures of pins are organized by district with an index of the pin's page location. It has over 70 colored pages. If you re interested in a new complete copy, send a check for $35 made out to PTCNYB if you need it mailed to you or $30 if you see Mike in person. He plans on being in attendance in Rochester. Each year, an update of the previous catalog is done at a cost of $5 plus mailing. These are also available. We are always looking for pins not in the catalog. This year we cleaned up the annual Cicero Pike Derby pins that have been given out each year since Please contact Lion Mike or Lion Bob to make arrangements to have your Club s new pin added to the catalog.

3 MD-20 ANNUAL CONVENTION IN ROCHESTER, NY On Friday April 29, Saturday 30, and Sunday May 1, the MD-20 Convention will be at the Convention Center on Main St. on the east side of the Genesee River. Thursday will have an early bird fun night at the Raddison including pizza, liquid refreshments, Casino, and horse races. Pin trading club activities include Pin trading starting Friday at 10 AM to 3 PM (Come early after 9 AM for the best tables), Pin Auction at 10:30 AM (numbers and detailed list of the 40 pin groups available at the trading room welcome table), Pin trading on Sat. 9 AM to 4 PM, and Annual meeting on Sunday in the Highland E room across the hall from the pin trading area. ALL ACTIVITIES ARE ON THE FIRST FLOOR OF THE CONVENTION CENTER. Friday pin trading will be at the Riverside Court area towards the rear of the hallway that will contain the vendor displays. Look for the signs and the entrance to the pin trading area where the welcome table will be located. Your personal table sign can be picked up at the welcome table professionally done by Lion Don Rutherford if you contact Lion Mike Morris by Tuesday April 26 if you will be trading. 25 tables will be available. So first come first served after 9 AM. Something new this year will be a Pin Auction mostly of MD-20 club, district,and personal pins. A detailed individual pin list of 40 auction items will be available at the welcome table. All pins have been donated to Lions Camp Badger and all proceeds go to the camp. Saturday will have pin trading at the same location from 10 AM to 4 PM. Same rules as Friday. We will not be allowed to leave our pins out overnight on Friday. A locked small room is available at 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM Friday to store your pins at your own risk near the box office. Mike Morris will be taking advantage of this option. Sunday will have the ANNUAL MEETING OF THE PTCNYB IN THE HIGHLAND E ROOM across the hallway from the pin trading area. It will be open at 7:15 AM with the meeting starting at 8:45 AM. A continental breakfast including coffee, water, juice, pop, donuts, bagels, fruit, cookies and napkins will be available for $4.00. Make reservations at the welcome table in the pin trading area on Friday or Saturday. The meeting will be over in time for members to go to the Interdenominational Service on the floor above us. You can register for the Convention at the Main St. Entrance of the Convention Center Thursday Night 6 PM to 9 PM Friday 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM Saturday 8 AM to 12 noon Sunday 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM

4 NORTHEAST PIN SWAP XXIII The 2011 Northeast Pin Swap has been scheduled for August 18 to August 20 at the Sheraton Providence Airport Hotel, 1850 Post Rd, Warwick, RI The room rate has been established at $79 plus tax, Please contact the hotel directly for room reservations. Registration cost for the swap is $40.00 which includes one table, registration pin, name badge, hospitality room, auction bid number and Friday lunch, Extra tables can be obtained for $15.00 The registration form is the next page. Please complete it and sent to PDG Paul Viano as soon as practical.. This swap is being handled as a co-operative venture by all of the Pin Trading Clubs in the Northeast with leadership provided by the Massachusetts Pin Trading Club. All Clubs will be asked to perform some tasks and to provide manpower at the swap and hospitality room. Following this swap, the attendees will be asked to evaluate all aspects of the swap such as trading space, lighting, room rates and acceptability of the rooms, food availability, hospitality, etc. This is with an eye towards possibly establishing one location as THE site for the Northeast Swap which is the case with many other swaps throughout the country. Clear your calendars and reserve early. I m sure this will be a great swap.. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm... 6 Nightly Hospitality at Seattle The members of the LITPC have available to them, a delegation hotel at the international convention each year that is located close to the convention center, often within the block or even attached. In addition to the annual breakfast meeting held in the hotel, they host a pin trading room each evening and a nightly hospitality room. The PTCNY&B has endorsed the candidacy of PDG Bob Libin for 2 nd Vice President of the LITPC for election in Seattle at the Lions Clubs International Convention In connection with PDG Bob s campaign, the PTCNY&B will be supporting his efforts with a hospitality room on Tuesday night in Seattle at the pin trader s hotel. PDG Bob is planning on having a NY style snack for the evening and could use any and all help members of the PTCNY&B can give. If successful, PDG Bob will be the 2 nd Vice President and eventually President of the LITPC following in the footsteps of Past President Jim Scheibel. Jim Schiebel, 748 Wiler Road, Hilton, NY jschiebel@rochester.rr.com York Pin Swap The Annual PA Pin Swap was 3/24, 3/25/,and 3/26 in York, PA. This is one of my favorites because it has a good number of out of state traders but there is lots of room to get around. There is a good cross section of traders from the experienced old timers to the new ones getting into the game. You can spend your time looking thru many swatches of pins from all over the place. You won't be wasting you time if you go there with the idea of what exactly you are looking for. Pin prices are more negotiable now with the large increasing number of pins out in the world and only a consistant number of traders. There are 5 Churchville, NY pintraders who go to pin swaps. This year, three of us went early Friday morning arriving about noon. There was a lot of trading and buying that afternoon followed by a great meal in the hospitality room. There was an auction both Thursday and Friday. It is amazing to see how much some of the rarer pins go for. It's even more interesting when Dan Ryan or Bob Libin are interested in a pin. The swap ends Saturday morning with an excellent buffet breakfast followed by the meeting telling about future events in the US and other info. Some pin trading goes on after this and all leave at various times. The highlight for me is to see long time friends and catch up on what is going on with them. We plan on going to the North Carolina Swap in April and the North East in RI in August. Mike Morris, Churchville Lions Club

7 New 2011 PTCNY&B Pins are available The PTCNY&B Board of Directors have authorized two pins to be issued in 2011 with the new Military Series theme. They will be recognizing the locations within New York at West Point and Kings Point. A limited number will be available at the MD20 Convention in Rochester There will only be 200 of each pin produced. The pricing on these pins will be $2.50 each plus shipping.
