2 Our Club Our club is a group of people interested in recovering artifacts, coins, and other interesting items from the past and various historical research topics. Meetings are held on the last Thursday of every month at the back door behind Evangel Community Church on 76 Sandy Street in Chatham. Guests are always welcome. At each meeting members may enter their finds of the month in the Finds of the Month Competition. The programs consist of talks by club members or invited speakers, slide or video shows, artifacts displays or demonstrations of new products. The club maintains a small library of books, magazines and maps, which may be checked out for one month. Our club strives to improve the public image of detector users and other amateur historical collectors. We therefore abide by the Code of Ethics. I WILL appreciate and protect our heritage of natural and cultural resources, wildlife and private property. I WILL use thoughtfulness, consideration and courtesy at all times. I WILL leave gates as found. I WILL remove and properly dispose of any trash that I find. I WILL not litter! I WILL not tamper with signs, structural facilities or equipment. I WILL return an item, by any means if someone can adequately describe it. I WILL not destroy property,building or what is left of ghost towns and deserted structures. 3 Visitors to the Club s Meeting Rick welcomed Bob and Joanne Szucs back for a visit. Official minutes of the Chatham Kent Metal Detectors Club By: Dale Eagleson Meeting called to order at 7pm. Old Bussiness The fall hunt was a huge success. Thank you to those that donated their time, food and to Don Lyttle and Jean and Garry Schnekenburger, Marion, and those I missed, for all their help. Fun Hunt October 2014 Well, from what I recall, it was a bit of a gloomy day, but all the die hard detectorists were there! It was another great hunt and a big thanks to Phil for obtaining the fantastic prizes.there were going to be a number of hunts, but due to crappy weather we had just one grand hunt

4 New Bussiness Another fall hunt will take place on October 04 at 9am. Julie will call parks and recreation to make sure the washrooms are open. Marion is donating a casserole and Julie is donating jam to be raffled off tonight.

5 Phil brought in a bounty hunter metal detector from one of the local pawn shops. It's for sale for $ We were going to buy the detector, but changed our minds after Fred C told the club they not very good. Dennis Myers was our guest speaker and gave an interesting speech. The price of gold is currently $1210 per ounce and silver is $17.90 per ounce. There is some speculation that gold will jump to $6000. per ounce early next year. Dennis talked about real diamonds and man made diamonds. He also talked about other metals related to rings. Dennis is very knowledgable and keep us memorized with his knowledge. Intermission Break at 8:15pm restarted at 8:30pm. Garry would like to donate $50 or more to a charitable organization like the Chatham Kent hospice. He would like us to think about it and vote next meeting. Garry found a gold earring that a young lady lost at Wilsons Conservation Area. He found it under the Chatham Kent Metal Detecting Club. Way to go Garry! Christmas party to be held at the Lucky Inn on Saturday, December 06th at 6pm. Gifts must be at least $20 dollars and wrapped. Next meeting will be nominations.
