1 Jack-o-lantern What could be more fun than Halloween treats served in a jack-o-lantern tin or takeout box? This easy to create design uses glittery yellow and burnt orange cardstock to simulate the glowing face of a carved pumpkin. 1

Takeout Box Difficulty Easy Materials Medium black takeout box (takeout boxes are inexpensive and easy to find at your local craft or party store) Burnt orange cardstock Glittery yellow cardstock

Drying Tacky Glue (for gluing the face) Instructions 1. Using Scotch Precision Scissors cut a piece of the brunt orange cardstock the entire size of front of the box.

2 Takeout Box Difficulty Easy Materials Medium black takeout box (takeout boxes are inexpensive and easy to find at your local craft or party store) Burnt orange cardstock Glittery yellow cardstock Natural raffia Scotch Precision Cutter (for cutting out face) Scotch Precision Scissors (6 for cutting raffia and cardstock) Scotch Clear Glue Stick (for attaching cardstock paper) Scotch Quick Drying Tacky Glue (for gluing the face) Instructions 1. Using Scotch Precision Scissors cut a piece of the brunt orange cardstock the entire size of front of the box. You can use the box to trace the shape on the wrong side of the paper. 2. Cut one inch off of each corner of the orange cardstock. 3. Using the Scotch Clear Glue Stick, apply glue to the wrong side of the cardstock especially around the edges. Attach the cardstock to the front of the box, lining up the edges of the paper with the edges of the box. 2

Using Scotch Precision Scissors, cut four 20 inch long pieces of raffia and hold them together and matching up the ends. 8.

3 4. Draw a jack-o-lantern face on the wrong side of the glittery yellow cardstock. 5. Cut out the face using Scotch Precision Cutter. 6. Apply a small amount of Scotch Quick-Dry Adhesive to the back of each of the pieces of the face and attach them to the front of the box. 7. Using Scotch Precision Scissors, cut four 20 inch long pieces of raffia and hold them together and matching up the ends. 8. Wrap the raffia around the handle where it meets with the box and tie a knot, leaving a three inch tail. Wrap the ribbon tightly around the handle, overlapping the edges. 3

4 9. To finish, tie a knot around the handle where it meets with the box with the raffia tails. Trim both tails to matching lengths to complete this design. 4

6 3. Trace the lid of the tin on the wrong side of the burnt orange cardstock. Using the lid as a guide, trace four curved bands on the inside of the traced circle. 4. Using Scotch Precision Scissors, cut out the four bands of orange cardstock. 5. Apply a small amount of Scotch Quick-Dry Adhesive to the back of each of the curved bands and attach them to the top of the lid. 6

Trim the tails to the desired length and bend them up so they drape over the top of the lid. 7

Using Scotch Precision Scissors cut a piece of the burnt orange cardstock five inches high and one inch smaller than width of the front of the bag. 2. Using the Scotch Clear Glue Stick, apply glue to the wrong side of the cardstock especially around the edges. Attach the cardstock to the front of the bag, lining up the bottom edge of the paper with the bottom edge of the bag. 8

Fold the top of the treat bag over to the back 1-1/2 inches from the top. 7. Using a hole puncher, punch two holes an inch from each side edge of the bag. 8.

Apply a small amount of Scotch Quick-Dry Adhesive to the back of each of the pieces of the face and attach them to the front of the bag. 6. Fold the top of the treat bag over to the back 1-1/2 inches from the top. 7. Using a hole puncher, punch two holes an inch from each side edge of the bag. 8. Using Scotch Precision Scissors cut three 10 inch pieces of raffia. Feed the ends of the raffia through the hole on the front of the bag and back through the hole on back of the bag so the tails meet on the front of the bag. 9

10 9. Tie the tails together on the front of the bag and trim them at an angle to the designed length. 10
