1 Class #7 Fold out Photos In this class we re going to make a fun page that holds five photos on the one page. We ll be using the washi tape for this although if you don t have any you can use regular household masking tape or other patterned tape. To begin with we need to make the page. My page is 7 x 6 inches so I ve begun by cutting out a piece this size from the spare sheet of 12x12 cardstock, you should have one leftover from making your pages. I m making it 6 inches tall because I m cutting out two pieces from the same sheet and sticking them back to back. If you want to make a different sized page here you can do but you need to make it at least large enough to fit on one 4x6 photo. Gather together your photos. You ll need 5 photos to make the fold outs for this page they don t have to relate but it s fun to have photos that relate to one another so you can create a narrative with them. If you don t yet have your photos to use you could if you wanted to use thin card in 6x4 size pieces then once you have your photos you ll be able to stick them over the top of the card pieces. My photos are all landscape orientated, your photos can be portrait but they all need to be the same orientation. Pick out two photos that you want to be next to one another.

2 Turn the photos over and put the edges together so they re touching. Take your tape and stick a piece along the join between the two photos. Trim the edges of the tape to the edges of the photo. Flip the photos back over to the front. Fold the right side photo over and crease the tape to make a fold.

3 Unfold the photos again. This time fold over the left photo. Place another photo up to the edge of the photo you ve just folded over and again as before add a piece of tape joining the two photo edges together. Trim the ends of the tape to make them neat. Fold the photo on the right over to the left so the front of it is now facing you. Press the pile down so all the folds crease and keep their folds in place. Fold over the top photo again so the two backs are facing you once more. Add doublesided tape to the back of the first photo and stick another photo on the back of it. Take care to make sure the edges of both photos match up.

4 Do the same with the other photo back alongside it. Next we re going to use the tab stickers from the sticker sheet. If you haven t got any tabs ready you ll need to make some. You can use small piece of card or patterned paper folded in half and glue them on with tape. Add a tab to the photo edge on the right. When you fold it over the other photo should be on the other side. This is going to be the top most photo. As you pull the tab upward every side should be a photo, front and back. The only photo that should have a white back still is the one that should be on the surface of your worksurface with the white side facing downward.

5 Turn the pile of photos over now to see the last remaining blank side. Add doublesided tape to this side and glue it to your page so it matches up to the right edge of your page. Fold the photos back on top of one another they should fold in a concertina style, right to left. That s your basic fold out photo page completed. Now we just need to decorate it a little more. If you d prefer to decorate it yourself from here then go for it but you can also copy what I did as detailed bellow. Don t forget to make the holes in your page before you decorate the page if you re going on your own. To begin with I rounded the corners of the page. I then used one of the stickers from the October Afternoon sheet and applied it on the last photo that s the one that s glued to the page.

6 Underneath that I added another tab sticker so it folds over to the back of the page. This will help the page to be turned without having to touch the photos. Next I folded the photos back up and added some paper flowers to the first photo. To each of the photos I ve added a narrative using strips of washi tape directly over the top of the photo and alphabet stickers to make up the words. The narrative ends with the last page where I ve added the last word with the chipboard alphabets.

7 Above that at the top of the page I ve added a title also using the chipboard alphabets. These are the back photos. That s out fold out photo page finished! Add the page holes and add the page to your album after the canvas page. Now we just need to decorate the page opposite in our album. Because we ve used lots of photos on the fold out page I m just going to use this side to add a journalling block. I ve used some of the leftover card to cut out a 5x 4 ½ inch piece and stuck it to the page. (This page is the back of the canvas one we made in class six).

8 After that I ve added one of the memo blocks to use as the journalling card. Underneath the card and overlapping the Journalling block I ve added some washi tape. Some of the paint from the canvas page has got onto the edge of this page so I ve just added some more dry brushing it on all around the edge. Make sure the paint is dry before carrying on.

9 Finally I ve added a couple of paper flowers to link this page to the one opposite which also has the paper flower on. That s both pages today complete. Pop the pages inside your album for safe keeping. L Banks 2011 Written for Create 10 Mix it up mini album classes
