A Healthy Meal: Before your trick or treaters go filling their bags with candy, make sure to fill their bellies with a nutritious, well-balanced meal. Try having them eat about an hour before their journey. Map Your Route: Know where you plan on going and map out your route. Share your plan with all the kids and parents involved. This will help keep your group aware an organized. Bathroom Call: Remind everyone to hit the bathroom one more time before hitting the road. If your littlest ones tell you they don t have to go, encourage them to at least give it a try. You know the drill. Check Out: Does everyone have everything they need? Once your group is together and ready to head out, do one last check out. Use the tools on the right to help keep you prepared.» Lights & Glow Sticks: Make sure each person in your group has a reliable light source: Glow sticks/bands for kids, flashlights for grownups. Whistles: A good, loud whistle is a great way to alert your group if there is a problem. Candy Bags & Candy Rules: Have each trick or treater carry his or her own candy bag and make sure they all understand the candy rules: 1) All candy must be checked by a parent before eating. 2) Set a limit on how much candy they are allowed. 3) No littering! You unwrap it, you trash it. Water: Keep yourself and your trick or treaters well hydrated, especially if you plan on eating lots of Halloween treats! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

2 PUMPKIN CARVING ADULT SUPERVISION REQUIRED FOR THIS CRAFT CREATE YOUR VERY OWN MATER-O-Lantern! YOU WILL NEED: Black Marker Tape Spoon or Scraper Knife Craft Blade or Scissors Step 1: Make a lid for your pumpkin. Cut a circle or a hexagon at least 5 inches in diameter around the pumpkin s stem. Make sure to cut out the lid at an angle (so that the outside edge is larger than the inside) to keep it from slipping inside. Step 2: When the lid is free, scrape the inside of the pumpkin and the lid clean of seeds and pulp with a metal spoon or scraper. Step 3: Print out your selected stencil and ask an adult to help you carefully cut out the stencil along the edge with a blade. Step 4: Attach your stencil to the pumpkin. With tape or pins. Carefully trace around the inside edge of the template with your marker. Then, remove the stencil, tape or pins. Step 5: Work with an adult to use your pumpkin carving tools to scrape away and remove the outermost skin of pumpkin (about 1/4 inch deep) inside the outline of the shape. Step 6: Place an LED candlelight inside your pumpkin, put on the lid, turn out the lights and enjoy the glow of your CARS 3 pumpkin carving stencils! Print stencil template on next page
