A Rube Goldberg Machie Cotest (RGMC) is a evet where studets of all ages compete with the machies they have imagied, desiged ad created i a fu ad competitive forum. The competitios ecourage teamwork ad out-of-the-box problem solvig, i a fresh learig eviromet ad level playig field. Remember, to compete i a RGMC all you eed is a good imagiatio ad a pile of juk! CONTEST OPPORTUNITIES There are 2 types of cotests: Live Teams build a RGM, trasport it to the Host site for which they have registered ad compete with other teams. The first place wier of each Host site is eligible to compete i Live Fials. Olie Teams build a RGM, video it, fill i a team page ad compete with other idividual teams for first place. Ay team, o matter what their locatio, may compete i either the Live or the Olie cotest. Teams may ot compete i both. A team may compete i oly oe Cotest. A school/orgaizatio may register multiple teams, i multiple cotests, each with a uique machie. COST AND REGISTRATION There are costs ivolved with formig a Rube Goldberg team. Regioal/local cotest registratio fee is $ per team, payable directly to RGI. If the fee for the Live cotest you choose to eter is less tha that, it is because the host has uderwritte a portio of the fee. Fials registratio fee is $ for all Live teams attedig Live Fials, payable directly to RGI. Teams are ecouraged to seek out sposors ad to udertake commuity fudraisig efforts. I additio to registratio fees, costs may iclude trasportatio of the machie ad the team, food ad overight accommodatios. No refuds or credits will be give. TEAM GIFTS Oce the Team Leader has registered, approved all members of the team that have electroically filed their Coset ad Release agreemet ad paid, Team Gifts will be mailed to the Team Leader at the address provided durig the registratio process. Oce you register as a Host, both the Host Maual ad Rule Book, alog with other materials you will eed, are dowloadable from your Accout page. The Host will have sole resposibility for orgaizig ad ruig their competitio i accordace with RGI rules. To Host a fu ad excitig Rube Goldberg Machie Cotest, all you eed are some teams that are excited about STEM learig ad out of the box thikig! Gather at least 3 teams, select the veue, pick a date betwee November 1st, 2017 ad March 15th,...ad watch the fu begi! I additio to adherig to Rube Goldberg rules for cotest set up ad Rube Goldberg Machie specificatios, the Host will be resposible for all Judges ad Referees ad the scorig of their cotest. The 1st place Team at each regioal cotest is eligible to compete at Fials. All these resposibilities are completely explaied i the full Host Maual which is available to registered Hosts. II III 18 + (All team members must be studets 18 years of age or older ad erolled as udergraduate or graduate studets at a accredited uiversity.)
