Treetops are ablaze with coutless colors. A livig raibow, from gree to orage to red. Slowly the first leaves are startig to fall. Meawhile, our steps ad the diliget squirrels rustle the colorful foliage. O our walks through the woods we discover all kids of little treasures. Collect berries, uts, mushrooms ad feathers. We pause for a momet to watch the shy ihabitats of the forest, before we set off towards home oce agai. There, a good game ad a hot tea are already awaitig. 2 Aim of the game What am I actually supposed to do i this game? O your way home from your hikig tour you cross a piece of Forest Floor. Each Forest Floor is divided ito 6 Areas depictig various Treasures. I your tur you place Leaf tiles o your Forest Floor ad this way fill up these 6 Areas. Each of the 6 Areas cosists of square spaces. Each Leaf tile has Hole, through which you ca peek at a empty space or at Treasures, after you have placed it o your Forest Floor. Try to place Leaf tiles o your Forest Floor i such a way that they completely cover your Forest Floor ad leave little free space. Ideally you place the Leaf tiles i such a way that the Treasures are still visible through the Holes. These Holes are the covered with Treasures from the commo supply. Ideally you place the Leaf tiles i such a way that the Treasures are still visible through the Holes. These Holes are the covered with Treasures from the commo supply. Every time you completely cover of the 6 Areas, you collect the Treasures that are lyig o top of the Leaf tiles i this Area. With the Treasures you gai ew optios to cover your Forest Floor faster. The first player to cover their etire Forest Floor with Leaf tiles wis the game. Treasures are oly used to resolve draws, so use them durig the game istead of collectig them.

3 Set-up How do I set up the game? A Shuffle the 6 Forest Floor boards ad had every player Forest Floor board, hereafter called Forest Floor. Give Backpack to each player ad place it ext to the bottom left corer of your Forest Floor. Put the remaiig Forest Floors ad Backpacks back ito the box, they are o loger eeded i this game. B Tur the two game boards to the multiplayer game side ad place them ext to each other i the middle of the table. C Sort the Aimal tiles ad place them o the desigated spaces o the game board. Place the correspodig Treasures o the specially marked Aimal tiles (Racoo, Fox, Badger). D Place the Treasures ad Squirrels separately ext to the shorter sides of the game board to form the commo supply. E Shuffle the Leaf tiles. Each player draws 5 radom Leaf tiles ( gree threes, orage fours, red five), which they place i the order from left ( frot ) to right ( back ) o the bottom edge of their Forest Floor i frot of them, startig directly ext to their Backpack. O the left with gree threes, followed by orage fours ad red five o the very right. This lie of Leaf tiles is called the Player Path. F Place additioal Leaf tiles i a circle aroud the game board. The order of the Leaf tiles is radom. At a place of your choice, leave a empty space of about had. This icomplete circle of Leaf tiles is called the Commo Path. I A The Forest Floors are divided ito 6 Areas each, with differet Treasures depicted o them. The 6 Forest Floors show uique sides each. Tur your Forest Floor o a side of your choice. G Put the Berry Bush, hereafter oly called Bush, i the empty space of the Commo Path. H Place the remaiig Leaf tiles readily accessible E i corer of the table. I Give each player Berry, Nut ad Mushroom. Each player should place these Treasures above their Backpack. 4 Game flow How does a game ru? Begiig with the start player you each take tur i clockwise order. I your tur you execute Mai Actio. Before ad/or afterwards you ca execute as may Special Actios as you like. As soo as player has covered their etire Forest Floor with Leaf tiles, the roud is played util all players had the same umber of turs, ad the the game is over. 5 Tile placemet rules How ca I place Leaf tiles, Squirrels & Aimal tiles? With Leaf tiles, you may place them o empty spaces. place them o spaces with prited-o Treasures. flip over ad rotate them ay way you like. oly place them o your ow Forest Floor. place them with their Hole over empty Forest Floor. place them with their Hole over prited-o Treasures. place them o the lie betwee or more Areas. oly place them i your Mai Actio. ot place them o Aimal tiles. ot place them o Squirrels. ot place them overlappig or oto others. ot place them i a way that they protrude over the edge of your Forest Floor. ever move them agai as soo as your Mai Actio is executed. Leaf tiles do ot have to be placed adjacet to aother. The same rules apply to Squirrels. 7 7 ate rot r f lip ove With Aimal tiles, you may: 6 oly put them o free Holes i the Leaf tiles whose outlie correspods to the shape of the Aimal tile. For Aimal tiles the same restraits apply as for Leaf tiles ad Squirrels.

6 Normal Mai Actio Which Leaf tile ca I place? Execute i your tur of the two followig Normal Mai Actios. Follow the tile placemet rules while doig so. You are ot allowed to pass. Note! Oly i certai cases it is better to place squirrel istead of placig Leaf tile. Take Leaf tile of your choice from your Player Path ad place it o your Forest Floor. Tii takes the rd Leaf tile from her Player Path ad places it o her Forest Floor. OR Take Squirrel from the commo supply ad place it o empty space o your Forest Floor. Never place the Squirrels ito your supply. Claus takes Squirrel from the commo supply ad places it o empty space. At ay time durig the game (eve whe it is ot your tur) you ca take Leaf tile from your Player Path ad try placig it o your Forest Floor. The retur the Leaf tile to the same space. Treasures What happes if I cover a Treasure? If you cover Treasure depicted o your Forest Floor with the Hole of a Leaf tile, take Treasure of the same type from the commo supply ad place it oto this Hole. Nothig happes if you cover a empty space o your Forest Floor with a Hole i a Leaf tile or place Squirrel oto depicted Treasure. Tii covers Nut with the Hole of the laid Leaf tile. She places Nut (Treasure) oto the Hole. Claus placed Leaf tile from his Player Path oto his Forest Floor. The Hole covered a empty space, therefore othig happeed. 7

7 Area Whe am I allowed to take the Treasures off the Leaf tiles? Each Area cosists of spaces (x4) ad is regarded as complete whe all spaces of this Area are covered with Leaf tiles ad/or Squirrels. Spaces that are covered by Holes i Leaf tiles are also regarded as covered. Wheever you have completed Area with Leaf tiles ad/or Squirrels, immediately take all Treasures from the Holes i this Area ad put them i your supply. If you just glace at the game, you might be tempted to thik that the Treasures are victory poits that eed to be collected. It is importat to elimiate this impressio ad clarify matters whe you are explaiig the rules. Claus places i his Mai Actio Leaf tile ad this way completes Area. He ca take Berry ad Nut. He caot take the Mushroom, as it is located i a icomplete Area. Player Path How do I get ew Leaf tiles? Refill your Player Path immediately whe you are takig the last Leaf tile from your Player Path. To do this, follow these steps:. Take the Leaf tile from the Commo Path that is directly ext to the Bush ad place it right of your Backpack.. Move the Bush clockwise to the ext Leaf tile o the Path.. Take the Leaf tile that is directly ext to the Bush ad place it to the right of the Leaf tile that was last placed o your Player Path. Claus places the last Leaf tile from his Player Path ad the immediately refills it agai with Leaf tiles from the Commo Path. 4. Repeat step ad util you have exactly 5 Leaf tiles o your Player Path. I doig so, do ot chage the order of the Leaf tiles! Neither o the Commo Path or o your ow Path. You ca pay Berry to take ew Leaf tiles eve whe you still have Leaf tiles o your Player Path. See Special Actio Berry. 8

8 The Aimal tiles How ca I get more Treasures? There are 7 differet Aimal tiles i varyig umbers. At the begiig of the game o of them (Racoo, Fox, Badger) Treasure is placed. At ay time durig your tur place Aimal tile over a cotiuous outlie of free Holes. The shape of the Aimal tiles has to correspod to this outlie. It does t matter if these Holes cover depicted Treasures or ot. For each Treasure covered this way take aother Treasure of this type from the commo supply ad put it i your persoal supply. The shape of Holes must ot cotai ay empty spaces ad there must ot be ay Treasures o the Holes! Claus places the Hedgehog over the 4 Holes o his Forest Floor. As there are Nut ad Mushroom depicted i these Holes, he takes these Treasures from the commo supply. You ca also choose Aimal tiles that are smaller tha the cotiuous shape of the Holes. If you place of the Aimal tiles (Racoo, Fox, Badger) that got a Treasure o top at the start of the game, you also take the correspodig Treasure ad put it i your supply. You take this Treasure i additio to the other Treasures that you gaied by placig that Aimal tile. The Commo Path What happes whe the Leaf tiles ru out? Refill the Commo Path with radomly picked Leaf tiles as soo as it cotais less tha 7 Leaf tiles. To do this, take the Leaf tiles you placed aside at the begiig of the game ad add them at the ed of the Commo Path (where the Bush is ot) util you have almost circled the etire game board oce agai. If there are o loger ay Leaf tiles available to refill the Commo Path, you refill as may as possible. If there are too few Leaf tiles o the Commo Path to fully refill your ow Player Path, refill it as much as possible. O the rare occasio that there are either ay more Leaf tiles o the Commo Path or o your ow Player Path, you eed to use Mushrooms to place the Leaf tiles of your fellow players or place Squirrels. 9

9 Treasures What ca I do apart from my Normal Mai Actio? Place Treasure from your ow supply back ito the commo supply to execute its Actio. The Treasures have differet powers. Berries ad Nuts grat you Special Actios. Mushrooms ad Feathers grat you a Alterative Mai Actio. Before ad after your Mai Actio you may execute as may Special Actios as you like. INSTEAD of your Normal Mai Actio you may execute Alterative Mai Actio. You may ever execute more tha Mai Actio i your tur. Which meas you ca use a maximum of Mushroom or Feather i your tur. Berry How do I get the right Leaf tiles? Place Berry back ito the commo supply ad execute this Special Actio. Refill your Player Path to 5 Leaf tiles. To do this, follow the steps to 4 described uder Player Path. If you already have 5 Leaf tiles o your Player Path, you may take a sixth Leaf tile oce. To do this, execute step described uder Player Path. You ca ever have more tha 6 Leaf tiles i your persoal supply. Matilda has Leaf tiles i her Player Path. She places Berry back ito the commo supply ad refills her Path from the commo supply. Matilda also wats the ext Leaf tile from the Commo Path. She speds aother Berry to take a 6th Leaf tile ad places it at the ed of her Path. 4 Nut How ca I fill gaps betwee Leaf tiles? Place Nut back ito the commo supply ad execute this Special Actio. Take Squirrel from the commo supply ad place it o empty space o your Forest Floor. If this completes Area, immediately take all Treasures from this Area ad put them ito your ow supply. Tii places Nut back ito the commo supply. She takes Squirrel from the commo supply ad places it o her Forest Floor. As this completes a Area, she takes all Treasures ( Berries, Nut) from that Area ad places them above her Backpack. 0

10 Mushroom How ca I take Leaf tiles from my fellow players?? Place Mushroom back ito the commo supply ad execute this Alterative Mai Actio. Take the st Leaf tile from fellow players, the oe directly ext to their Backpack, ad place these tiles i the order of your choice oto your Forest Floor. Oly if there is o more space for them o your Forest Floor you are allowed to forgo takig oe of the two Leaf tiles. I the two-player-game you get the Leaf tile directly ext to the other player s Backpack ad the Leaf tile from the Commo Path that is directly ext to the Bush. If you take the last Leaf tile from the Path of aother player, that player the immediately follows steps -4 described uder Player Path. If players should be affected, they both refill their Player Paths i tur order. Claus places Mushroom back ito the commo supply ad executes the correspodig Alterative Mai Actio. From Hubert as well as from Tii he takes the Leaf tile ext to their Backpacks ad places this Leaf tile o his Forest Floor. As Hubert has ow o more Leaf tiles o his Player Path, he refills it immediately. Feather How ca I place of my Leaf tiles i oe tur? Place Feather back ito the commo supply ad execute this Alterative Mai Actio. Place Leaf tiles from your Player Path i a order of your choice oto your Forest Floor. You eed to have at least Leaf tiles o your Player Path to be able to execute this Actio. Hubert places Feather back ito the commo supply ad executes the correspodig Alterative Mai Actio. He takes the d ad 4th Leaf tile from his Path ad puts both of them oto his Forest Floor. You may have as may Treasures as you like i your ow supply. We advise you ot to save up too may Treasures over the course of the game. The wier is ofte the player who repeatedly uses his Treasures i order to be able to place more or better suited Leaf tiles oto their Forest Floor. Exchagig Treasures How do I get more Mushrooms ad Feathers? You may exchage Treasures from your supply for those i the commo supply. Each Treasure has a value of its ow. Feathers are the most valuable, followed by Mushrooms, Nuts ad Berries, i that order. You may exchage Treasures at ay time ad as ofte as you like durig your tur. Exchage Treasure for Treasure of a lower value. Exchage of the same Treasures for Treasure of the ext higher value. Example: Matilda exchages Feather for Mushroom ad speds it to execute the correspodig Alterative Mai Actio. By placig the Leaf tiles she has take from her fellow players she completely covers Area ad takes the Treasures ( Berries). She the exchages Berries for Nut, which she uses to place Squirrel. That way she maages to complete aother Area. From there she also takes the Treasures ( Nut, Mushroom) ad places them above her Backpack.

11 Ed of the game How do I wi? The game eds as soo as a player completely covers their Forest Floor with Leaf tiles ad/or Squirrels. Fiish the curret roud up to the player to the right of the start player. The exchage all Treasures, accordig to the exchage rules, for Nuts ad use them to place Squirrels oto the empty spaces o your Forest Floor. If you complete Areas this way, take Treasures if appropriate, which you ca oce agai exchage for Nuts ad so o. Squirrels are ot limited, if they ru out i a game, please replace them. The player who covered his Forest Floor completely with Leaf tiles ad/or Squirrels wis the game. If more tha player has completely covered their Forest Floor, they add up the Nuts i their supply to resolve ay draws. The wier is the player with more Nuts. If there is a draw i the amout of Nuts, resolve it i favor of the player that has Blue Berry remaiig. If there still is a draw the players share the victory. All other players the cout the empty spaces o their Forest Floors. The player with less empty spaces gets the higher rakig. Matilda... Tii Claus 4. Claus places Leaf tile ad covers his Forest Floor completely. This way he triggers the ed of the game. The roud is fiished ad Tii puts Feather back ito the supply ad places Leaf tiles to cover as much of her Forest Floor as possible. The all players exchage their Treasures for Nuts. Matilda has Nuts ad Berry. With the Nuts she places squirrels ad maages to cover her Forest Floor completely. She gais more Treasures ( Berry, Nuts ad Feather). After Hubert ad Tii have used all their Nuts, Hubert is left with empty spaces ad Tii with. Matilda exchages her Feather ad Berries for Nuts. To determie the wier, all leftover Nuts are couted. Claus has got Nuts left ad Matilda 5 Nuts. Which meas that Matilda has wo the game. It s Tii s tur. She has Leaf tiles o her Path, Berries ad Feather. She places Berry back ito the commo supply ad refills her Path to 5 Leaf tiles. The she also places the d Berry ito the supply, to be able to take a sixth Leaf tile. She returs Feather, to execute the correspodig Alterative Mai Actio. She places the rd ad 6th Leaf tile o her Forest Floor. This way, she completely covers a Area ad gais Nut ad Mushroom. She places the Nut back ito the commo supply, takes Squirrel ad places it o her Forest Floor. This completely covers aother Area ad she takes Berry, Nut ad Mushroom. 12 Solo game rules How ca I play Idia Summer o my ow? The solo game differs oly i a few aspects from the multiplayer game. Each game takes about 5 miutes. For a particularly excitig challege you ca play up to three successive games. Set-up solo game How do I set up the solo game? Shuffle the 6 Forest Floors ad take Forest Floor ad Backpack. Put the remaiig Forest Floors, Backpacks, the start player marker ad the Bush back ito the box. You do ot eed them for your solo game(s). Tur the two game board halves o the solo game side ad place them ext to each other i the middle of the table. Split up the Leaf tiles radomly i stacks of 5 tiles. I each of your (up to ) games you are playig with 5 puzzle tiles. That way, all Leaf tiles will be used ad you will get a fial scorig that is less luck-depedet. A B A Take stack ad distribute the 5 Leaf tiles as follows: A Above ad below the game board, place 5 radom Leaf tiles each i a lie. These two lies form the Top ad Bottom Path respectively. B O each of the 0 spaces labeled X place also Leaf tile at radom. C Place the remaiig 5 Leaf tiles i frot of you. They represet your Player Path. C There is o Commo Path i the solo game. Put the two other Leaf tile stacks to the side, you will oly eed them for the ext game(s). Sort the Aimal tiles ad place them ext to the game board. Place the correspodig Treasure o the special Aimal tiles (Racoo, Fox, Badger). Place the Treasures ad the Squirrels separately ext to the shorter sides of the game board. Take Berry, Nut ad Mushroom. Place these Treasures above your Backpack.

13 Game flow solo game How may turs do I have to completely cover my tableau? The solo game cosists of exactly 0 turs. Your tur varies from the multiplayer game as follows: At the begiig of each tur move the oe Leaf tile that is o the space with the umber correspodig to the curret tur ( X ) oto the last empty space o the very right. This way you ca cout your turs. Here there are two already moved Leaf tiles o the very right. I this situatio the Leaf tile from space. is moved to space. You execute oe tur after the other. For the placemet of the Leaf tiles the same rules apply as i the multiplayer game. Oly the way you get your Leaf tiles ad the Actios of the Berries ad Mushrooms is goig to chage. The Top ad the Bottom Path Where do I get ew Leaf tiles? Refill your Player Path immediately whe you take the last Leaf tile from your Player Path. To do this, follow these steps:. Decide o the Top or the Bottom Path.. Decide o the left or right side of the Path you have chose.. Take the outermost Leaf tile o this side, o the Path you have chose. 4. Repeat step util you have exactly 5 Leaf tiles o your Player Path. If there are less Leaf tiles o your chose Path tha you are allowed to take, take oly as may as there are o that Path. But you may pay additioal Berry to take the missig Leaf tiles from the other Path. Mushroom How ca I take Leaf tiles from the game board? Place Mushroom back ito the commo supply ad execute this Alterative Mai Actio. Take the Leaf tiles o the Mushroom spaces ad place them i a order of your choice oto your Forest Floor. Oly whe you have o more space for them o your Forest Floor ca you forgo to take of the Leaf tiles. If there is oly Leaf tile o the Mushroom spaces, you may also take this tile aloe. Afterwards move ay Leaf tiles which lie o spaces with a lower umber tha the curret tur oe after the other to the last empty space o the very right. 4

14 Berry How do I get suitable Leaf tiles? Place Berry back ito the commo supply ad execute this Special Actio. Refill your Player Path to 5 Leaf tiles. To do this, follow the steps -4 described to the left. You have to refill to 5 Leaf tiles if able. If there are ot eough Leaf tiles i the Path you chose to refill your Path to 5 Leaf tiles agai, you take all remaiig Leaf tiles ad ed the Special Actio Berry early. This is the oly possibility to take less tha 5 Leaf tiles whe usig the Special Actio Berry. If you do already have 5 Leaf tiles o your Player Path, you may take a sixth Leaf tile. For this tile you may agai choose from both Paths ad betwee both sides. You may ever have more tha 6 Leaf tiles o your Player Path. Scorig of a game After 0 turs you ed your game. Cotiue fillig your Forest Floor by exchage Treasures for Nuts ad these Nuts agai for Squirrels. If you should ot succeed i coverig all the spaces of the Forest Floor, the game is cosidered lost ad all spaces that are ot covered cout mius poit. If you maage to cover all spaces of the Forest Floor, the game is cosidered as wo. You wi poits for every Treasure you still have i your supply. Every Berry is worth poit, every Nut poits, every Mushroom poits ad every Feather 4 poits. A overall score of 0 poits you ca defiitely treat as a success.
