Kern Studios has grown into the go-to company for all major Krewes in New Orleans, creating parades from concept to completion. Since the first mule-drawn float was produced in 1932, Kern Studios has become one of the world s leading maker of floats, custom sculptures, and themed environments. Making people happy is what we love to do, and we ve had long relationships with all of our clients, from Disney and Universal Studios to the local Audubon Zoo. Floats & Parades From a mini hand-pulled float to an entire Super Fleet, we design and construct original, incomparable floats to tell your story and captivate your audience. Kern Studios offers a turn-key service to its clients, managing every detail of parade production. So whether it s permits, costumes, beads, police escorts, or simply designing floats we re able to expertly handle every aspect of your parade. Custom props and sculptures People love to pose for pictures with our beautifully crafted work, from the life-sized Louis Armstrong statue at the New Orleans airport, to the giant Harley Davidson riding out of the Hard Rock Café on the Las Vegas Strip! Themed environments The artists of Kern Studios can dress up any environment into a place of magic. Examples of some of our theming work can be seen at Disney s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course, Disney s Port Orleans Resorts in Orlando, and the Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. 4 Group Tours You can experience Mardi Gras World all year long! There are plenty of interesting tours in New Orleans, but only one offers a behind-the-scenes look at a real Mardi Gras celebration. Mardi Gras World gives you the essential carnival experience year-round. In fact, we like to say that at Mardi Gras World every day is Mardi Gras! Our tour allows you to see first-hand the hard work and extensive planning that goes into this world-famous annual event. Since 1947, Blaine Kern Studios has built the breathtaking parade floats for major parades not only for Mardi Gras, but for parades all over the world. Mardi Gras parades would be nothing without the fantastical floats that line the parade route year after year. The hard work that goes into making these spectacles is what makes Mardi Gras in New Orleans the greatest show on Earth! Our knowledgeable guides take the mask off Mardi Gras with an all-access tour, winding through the massive studio where these magnificent floats are constructed from the ground up. You ll learn about the history of this unique and festive tradition, while experiencing Mardi Gras while it s actually being built. Don t forget to bring your camera! There are also plenty of opportunities for photos in front of floats, with props, or wearing a traditional Mardi Gras costume. And better yet, Mardi Gras World is fun for the whole family! Your kids will love the experience of touring our space while the artisans create spectacular floats for over 40 parades each year. 5 Group Tours We re open 7 days a week, with our first tour beginning at 9:30 am and our last tour starting at 4:30 pm. Our tours begin every half hour, and are approximately an hour long.

6 Team Building Get your team to know each other a little better, in a fun and inspiring environment! Mini-Float Building Mardi Gras World offers Mini-Float Building activities for groups of up to 200 guests. Float building is where we got our start more than 60 years ago, and we re happy to share the tricks of our trade. Participants in this Team Building activity also have the opportunity to tour our float-building warehouse before creating a mini float of their own! $85 per person includes a one-hour tour, a two-hour workshop, and an open bar with beer, wine and soda. Custom Mardi Gras Float Building Our world-renowned artists will transform your dream (and theme) into a one-of-a-kind custom float which you and your team will paint and adorn from the ground-up. Join us for lunch, or even book your very own mini- Mardi Gras parade through the streets of New Orleans on your completed float! Before you arrive, you and the Mardi Gras World event planners will plan the perfect event for your gathering, from hotels and site-seeing, to conference rooms and catering the sky s the limit! You ll hear a brief history of masking in New Orleans before making your very own one-of-a-kind creation. We supply the mask and everything you ll need for embellishment. You ll also visit our famous Float Den and view some historical costumes to inspire you before you start creating your mask-erpiece. $35 per guest. Enhance your workshop experience with a Mask Making Package which includes a private guided tour with picture-taking in costume! Want to make a party of it? Further upgrade your experience with food, wine, beer, cocktails and/or a local jazz or Cajun band.
