3 MEETING & EVENT SPACES B A LLR O O M Truly magnificent in both size and style, the Ballroom measures 40 feet wide by 60 feet long. The wood coffered ceilings and wrought iron chandeliers with quatrefoil motif were custom-manufactured for the space. The focal point of the room remains the incredible sandstone fireplace mantel originating from an estate off the coast of Scotland and featuring life sized lions. With convenience access to the terraces, bar, and grounds beyond, the Ballroom is one of Dover Hall s most popular indoor event venues. T E R R AC E S The formal terrace allows for both a tented event or, weather permitting, an impromptu excursion into the sun for a view of the reflecting pool and garden. The summer kitchen provides a catering base for serving, while elegant doors lead guests back inside the estate for a stop at the bar. LIBRARY The story of The Norman Conquest lies not only in the antique books on protected shelves surrounding you, but amid the intricately carved figures and scenes on the large walnut fireplace mantel. This mantel was first purchased for Dover Hall and is thought to have been produced in Belgium between 1870 and The many recessed portrait engraving around the room depict British Monarchs from as early at the 11 th century. 4 F OR M A L DI N I NG R O OM An atmospheric place to convene around the 24-foot hand-carved Italian dining table, the Formal Dining Room characterizes old-world workmanship, beginning with its plaster Italian barrel vaulted ceiling. The kelly green walls match the velvet drapes, which hang all the way to the circa 1830 English reproduction rug. To set off every detail to perfection, a pair of 1830 French chandeliers cast a warm glow over the room. Across the hall, the pub bar serves wine, beer, and spirits to order. BI L L I A R D R O O M Reflecting a trophy room from the era of Teddy Roosevelt, the Billiard Room provides all the ingredients of bygone days and safari hunt adventure. Relax with a drink from the pub bar amid buffalo hide wall panels, walnut carvings, and an Empire wardrobe supported by dolphins and columns from the Wickham Estate in Virginia. A menagerie of stuffed animals, including a leopard, boar, lion, tiger, and jaguar, provide a captive audience for a lively game of pool on the restored Brunswick Monarch table, circa F O R M A L K I T C H E N & G R E A T R O O M As a comfortable living area, the Formal Kitchen and Great Room are centers for both activity and relaxation. Simple lines emphasize aesthetic beauty and function, with all appliances integrating seamlessly into the design. The double-faced brick fireplace separates kitchen from great room, which features a richly detailed Black Forest clock, a custom-made Turkish reproduction rug, and the oldest oak mantel in the estate (dating from the 17th Century).
