While at Wellesley, she also studied architectural design at MIT and mural painting at Savannah College of Art and Design. Her love of people, of collaboration, and of creating murals first blossomed while painting community mural projects at SCAD during her junior year. Since then she has worked with more than 4000 people to create large-scale mural projects. She has also worked as a project manager in public murals and 2-D and 3-D museum exhibit design and fabrication, and taught painting and project management courses for teachers and students aged pre-school-101. Drawing on her extensive experience over more than 21 years, she creates unique works of art, perfect for her clients and their architecture. 27 Commissioning Megan McKeithan works closely with you to create the perfect custom mural for your space. She can either paint the mural on location or paint it on canvas in the studio and then install it on location like wallpaper. Murals painted on canvas fit right up to the edge of the wall or trim and do not appear to be any different from those painted directly on the wall yet allow you to take them with you if you move. Examples of murals painted on canvas included here are the Attente Paris Opera House mural, the coastal Georgia "Give It Time" mural, the contemporary sky ceiling mural, the Horseshoe Bend Country Club mural, and the Avatlanta Avatar-inspired mural. Megan often creates 3D props and sculptures that coordinate with her murals in both residential and commercial installations. She can integrate her client s 3D items into the murals as well. To commission a piece, first choose the walls or ceilings you would like to have painted. Then, take pictures and measurements of those walls and send them to Megan along with any ideas or inspiration you have. Megan will discuss your project ideas with you. Once you have agreed on a theme, she ll go over a range of options and budgets with you to help you plan your mural. She may come out for a site visit before you agree to the final plan.
