2 PRIVATE BOOKINGS Escape games by Our escape games are a great way to get together with a group in Toronto! These immersive adventures are an ideal way to celebrate a special occasion with friends and family. Our interactive storylines at historic Toronto locations with live actors and full stage and sound sets make for unforgettable experiences! Our games are also perfect for company events as they encourage cooperation and trust in unique and interactive environments. The puzzles and clues have been designed to engage, challenge and surprise players, so your team will need to put their creative problem solving skills to work if they want to escape. Any of our scheduled games can be booked online at and run as private events. Additionally, with at least 2 week s notice, we can also facilitate catering for most locations. This brochure outlines our selection of private games as a guideline for selecting the best option to suit the size of your group and budget. If you have a particularly large group or would like a game hosted at your own venue, we do have some additional games available exclusively by request! All costs shown exclude HST and are 2018 guidelines only exact costs may vary depending on your requirements. 8 BLACK CREEK PIONEER VILLAGE DETAILS AND AVAILABILITY Black Creek Pionner Village, 1000 Murray Ross Pkwy, North York, ON, M3J 2P3 Estimated drive time from Yonge-Dundas Square: mins Parking: On-site ABOUT OUR GAMES In Where Dark Things Dwell at Black Creek Pioneer Village you ll find yourself trapped inside a historic village as strange cultists work to awaken an ancient evil force. Unlike most traditional escape rooms, the game is not set in one locked space. Teams will need to explore multiple buildings throughout Black Creek in order to solve puzzles, discover an incantation, save the villagers and escape before the final bell tolls! ABOUT THE LOCATION Black Creek Pioneer Village is a working village, typical of those established in south central Ontario between the 1790s and the 1860s. Today, this small agricultural community at Toronto s northern edge honours the ways of Ontario s early settlers. Centred around a water mill, the village also features stores, a tavern, a blacksmith shop, houses, churches and a school. Black Creek invites you to escape the modern world and experience Ontario s rich rural heritage through experiential learning and drawing connections between the mid-1800s and contemporary life. 8

9 BLACK CREEK PIONEER VILLAGE CATERING OPTIONS Black Creek Pioneer Village offers a number of catering options to suit your event: PORCH PARTY: Enjoy a pre or post-game porch party at Sam s historic house in the Village with a gourmet food truck, music and Black Creek s beer. Add to your event with axe throwing or goat yoga available as an additional extra activity with this option. SOCIAL PARTY: Options include wine and charcuterie or beer and a snack bar. FORMAL MEAL: A formal sit-down meal can be arranged upon request. 9

12 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WHAT S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SCHEDULED AND PRIVATE GAMES? Our games run on a standard schedule where tickets can be bought individually. If you d like to run one of these games as a private event, you can buy all the available tickets for the game online. However, we also receive requests for games to run outside of our standard schedule which we can arrange as private events. WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY A SET-UP FEE FOR A PRIVATE BOOKING? There is no fee for booking tickets for a game on our standard schedule. However, as private games are booked outside of our regular operating hours we require a set-up fee to cover the additional room rental, staffing and administration costs. This fee is only charged once per venue, per day and is waived for backto-back or mix and match games.* * For bookings made in 2018 WHY CAN PRIVATE GAMES RUN WITH EXTRA PLAYERS? The team sizes allowed for our scheduled games are the optimal capacity for each game. However, we are able to accommodate a few extra players for some games with a private booking, although please note that this can slightly compromise the quality of game play. 12

13 MY TEAM IS TOO LARGE TO PLAY THESE GAMES, WHAT SHOULD I DO? You might want to consider our largest game, Where Dark Things Dwell at Black Creek Pioneer Village, which can run with between 30 to 60 players! Alternatively, if you want to extend the capacity of our other games you can either run games: BACK-TO-BACK: book the same game to run sequentially MIX-AND-MATCH: book different games which are run at the same time, within each venue. For either of these options, you will only need to pay one set-up fee per venue.* * For bookings made in 2018 WHAT ARE MY CATERING OPTIONS? Most of our locations do offer catering, although menus vary and catering is booked directly with each venue. Please see the details for each venue for more information. We are happy to put you in touch with the Event Manager for your chosen location, or alternatively you could book a table at one of Toronto s many eateries! HOW DO I BOOK? For games on our standard schedule, you can easily book online at If you want to book a private date, please get in touch with us at groups@secretcityadventures.com to discuss your options and get a quote. A member of our team will be in touch to discuss your booking and provide a confirmed quote - we can then either take payment over the phone or send an invoice. A member of staff will always be available to answer any last minute questions. 13

14 CAN YOU SORT OUT TRANSPORTATION? Unfortunately not. Your group will need to find your own way to and from our locations, although most are centrally located or accessible via public transport - just get in touch for further advice or recommended suppliers. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN MY TEAM ARRIVES? Whether you book a standard or a private game, you will be greeted by our Game Host who will take your group through an introduction to the game and remain on-site for the duration of your event. WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE? Games which have been booked on scheduled dates are final and are not eligible to `be rescheduled or refunded. However, for our private bookings we are able to refund your order, minus the set-up fee. Alternatively, with at least two weeks notice we can reschedule your game at no charge. If you need to change your booking, just get in touch with our team to discuss your options. HOW CAN I EXPLAIN WHAT AN ESCAPE GAME IS TO THE REST OF MY TEAM? An escape game is a real-life adventure game in which a team has to explore a themed space where they are typically locked. Using elements within it, you have to find clues and solve puzzles in order to escape within a set time limit. 14
