S P E C I A L E D I T I O N S U M M E R Dear Sorors, Welcome back to the new fiscal year of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Las Vegas Alumnae Chapter. I hope that you are ready to carry forward our tradition of loving sisterhood, exemplary scholarship, and dedicated service. Today, we ll spend some time getting to know each other better, review our accomplishments during the last fiscal year, and examine future plans for our chapter and our sorority. It s wonderful to have each one of you here today- if you recently transferred to our chapter, or if you re visiting as a potential member or guest, we open our arms and our hearts to you. Feel free to join fully in our exercises, discussions, and fun! As we kick off our new year, I m asking each of you to commit yourself to One Mission, One Sisterhood: Empowering Communities through Committed Service one more time! So please, examine our committees and see where you d like to apply your knowledge and talents. We are powerful women in the Las Vegas Alumnae Chapter, and if each one of us commits to supporting just one project, our community will be uplifted through our legendary service. As you know, we have a new National President who will have her own mission for her tenure. I hope that we can adjust to incorporate her mission into our programs for the sorority year. I extend highest commendations to the Membership Services Committee, led by Verna J. Stringer, 1 st Vice President, on an excellent Round Up program. As we continue to uplift and live Delta s legend, let us always nurture within our hearts the Christian spirit that underlies every facet of our sisterhood, knowing that faith and hope and love last on, these three but in Delta Sigma Theta, the greatest of these is LOVE. In the bond, Pamelia Atkins-Girouard Pamelia Atkins-Girouard, President Las Vegas Alumnae Chapter 6040 Notre Dame Avenue Las Vegas, Nevada home cell

The opening was heralded by past presidents, national officers, regional officers and honorary Deltas as the 10,000 plus college educated black women began a week-long adventure into bonding, networking, information gathering on current and suggested policies and procedures, and electing new National officers. Soror President Pamelia Atkins -Girouard was the delegate for the Las Vegas Alumnae Chapter and was assisted by our Treasurer, Soror Belinda Maretnic, as alternate delegate. Other activities had Sorors enjoying The House of Blues, shopping trips, and family outings at the nearby theme parks.
