GENERAL.O This section contains information for the 2564HL (MD), 2564HLM (MD), and 2564HLMS telephone sets (Fig., 2, and 3). For common installation and maintenance information, refer to Section Reissued to: Sho (P-9D52) polarity guard rated MD Add information on D-8OO6 Kit of Parts (includes polarity guard) Reise Fig The 2564HLMS set is similar to the 2564HLM except the line sitch assembly breaks both tip and ring sides of the line, instead of ring side of the line only. 2. MANTENANCE A. Components 2. Maintenance of handsets, dials, and ringers is outlined in sections coering these components. 2.o2 These telephone sets are factory-equipped ith a KS~249Ll ( olt ac only) buzzer. B. Remoing,. and Replacing Housing 2.3 To remoe housing, remoe handset cord plug at telephone set. Loosen captie scres in base of set. Lift housing up and toard front of set. 2.4 To replace housing, guide loer front of housing oer pushbuttons, align housing ith base of set, and gently press housing into place. Tighten captie scres in base of set. nstall handset cord in telephone set. C. Mounting Cords 2.5 Mounting cord conductors necessary for exclusion, speakerphone, or A conersion are not proided. 2.6 Mounting cords designed for use ith 636A key assemblies, feature slotted afer sections for each line appearance. This allos easy arrangement of lines to pickup buttons. K No field maintenance should be performed on the plug of plug-ended mounting cords. 3. CONNECTONS 3.o These sets are factory-ired for use ith la, A2, 6A, $or 6B4 key telephone systems (). They are not equipped nor intended for use ith exclusion, speakerphone, or A. 3.2 Mounting cord leads are proided for illuminating the hold key position but 5A lamp is not furnished ith set and must be ordered separately. 3.3 The 2564HLMS telephone set is furnished ith the HB ringer. Refer to notes in Fig., 2, or 3 for ringer connection hen bridged ringing on a particular line is desired. 3.o4 All conertible key positions are supplied as pickup keys.
