These pnels were scheduled for delivery 1 September 1963, nd re now expected on 18 October due to delyed honeycomb pnel deliveries. D & C Pnels for AGE 5. These pnels were scheduled for delivery 1 November 1963, nd re now expected on 27 December 1963 due to procurement of longled prts. The opticl subsystem delivery schedule is shown in Figure 112. Kollsmn hs reported n nticipted slippge in delivery of opticl subsystems, s shown in 112, due to problems ssocited with the opticl bse. hen this item ws purchsed by Kollsmn, it ws nticipted tht problems would rise due to the complexity of the beryllium structure. To reduce some of the obvious risks, the wrd ws given to two vendors, but unfortuntely both vendors re experiencing difficulty nd re lte in their delivery to Kollsmn. Fcilities for mechnicl integrity testing of AGE2 Optics hve been completed nd certified t Kollsmn. The fcilities for vcuum nd therml testing should be complete nd certified bout the middle of December. Tenny Engineering hs completed dul chmber, but fulty heder ssembly hs cused them to dely shipment to Kollsmn until 15 November. A month will be required fter cceptnce to ssemble the instrumenttion to the chmber nd certify it. On 13 September 1963, MlT/L issued TD K1 uthorizing Kollsmn to fbricte long eye relief eyepieces for bredbord nd Block sextnts nd scnning telescopes. The MDV delivery schedule is shown in Figure 113. MDV 1 nd 2, scheduled for delivery by Kollsmn 3 August 1963, re now expected on 29 October due to procurement problems ssocited with the MDV ccess door ssembly.
