16 Series IZS3 Functions. Run mode There re 3 different run modes (Sensing DC mode/pulse DC mode/dc mode) for the IZS3, which cn be selected bsed on the ppliction nd operting condition. () Sensing DC mode The sttic neutrliztion time is reduced by detecting the workpiece s chrge condition with feedbck sensor which feeds the dt bck to the ionizer nd cuses ions with the polrity best suited for sttic neutrliztion to emit. The sttic neutrliztion completion signl turns off when the workpiece s electrosttic potentil flls within ±3 V. Note) This mode is suited for neutrlizing sttic electricity from hevily chrged workpieces. Either Energy Sving Run or Continuous Sttic Neutrliztion Run cn be selected depending on the ionizer s opertion fter sttic neutrliztion is completed. Energy sving run The ionizer stops dischrging utomticlly fter the of sttic neutrliztion is completed. It resumes dischrging when the workpiece s electrosttic potentil exceeds ±3 V. Note) For sttic neutrliztion from conductive workpieces, Energy Sving Run is recommended. Continuous sttic neutrliztion run Even fter the completion of sttic neutrliztion, this method continues to neutrlize sttic electricity using DC pulses while controlling the ion blnce, so tht the workpiece s electrosttic potentil flls within 3 V. Note) For sttic neutrliztion from nonconductive workpieces, Continuous Sttic Neutrliztion Run is recommended. Note) When the feedbck sensor is instlled t height of 2 mm. (2) Pulse DC mode Alterntively emits positive nd negtive ions. When n utoblnce sensor (high-precision type) is used. When n utoblnce sensor is used, the ionizer utomticlly djusts the ion blnce to within ±3 V. If the ion blnce exceeds ±3 V due to electrode needle contmintion, the ionizer outputs mintennce output signl. The ion blnce is djusted nd retined t the position of the workpiece. Either Mnul Run or Automtic Run cn be selected depending on the method of ion blnce djustment. Mnul run Automtic run When mintennce strt signl is input or the ionizer is turned on, this method djusts the ion blnce. For sttic neutrliztion from moving workpieces, Mnul Run is recommended. Strt system opertion fter the completion of ion blnce djustment. This method continuously djusts the ion blnce. For sttic neutrliztion from sttionry workpieces or prescribed sptil sttic neutrliztion, Automtic Run is recommended. When n utoblnce sensor (body-mounting type) is used. Autoblnce sensor [Body-mounting type] Controls to keep the initil ion blnce. If the ion blnce cnnot be kept due to electrode needle contmintion, the ionizer outputs mintennce output signl. Use blnce djustment trimmer to set the ion blnce (requires seprte mesuring instrument to verify the ion blnce). Ion blnce djustment trimmer When sensor is not used. Use blnce djustment trimmer to djust the ion blnce. This requires the seprte use of mesuring instrument to verify the ion blnce. (3) DC mode Continuously emits positive nd negtive ions. Prts other thn the object need to be ppropritely grounded to prevent from being chrged. This mode cnnot emit both positive nd negtive ions t the sme time. 646

17 Ionizer Series IZS3 Functions 2. Stin-detection on n electrode needle When mintennce strt signl is input, the ionizer detects ny deteriortion tht my interfere with the electrode needles cpbility to neutrlize sttic electricity. If the needles need to be clened due to such deteriortion, the mintennce indictor LED comes on nd mintennce output signl turns. Ion emission continues even if the mintennce output signl is turned. Note) Deteriortion in sttic electricity neutrliztion cpbility cnnot be detected by only connecting feedbck sensor, utoblnce sensor [high-precision type], or utoblnce sensor [body-mounting type]. Verify the cpbility by periodiclly inputting mintennce strt signl. 3.
