7 STATIS NOTES ABOUT THE REMOTE CTROL TRANSMITTER Battery instaation Remote contro transmitter operation range Engish 1 Remote contro sensor Within approximatey 6 m (19.7 feet) Battery repacement If you find that the remote contro transmitter must be used coser to the main unit, the batteries are weak. Repace both batteries with new ones. Notes Use ony AA, R6, UM- batteries for repacement. Be sure the poarities are correct. (See the iustration inside the battery compartment.) Remove the batteries if the remote contro transmitter wi not be used for an extended period of time. If batteries eak, dispose of them immediatey. Avoid touching the eaked materia or etting it come in contact with cothing, etc. Cean the battery compartment thoroughy before instaing new batteries. Notes There shoud be no arge obstaces between the remote contro transmitter and the main unit. If the remote contro sensor is directy iuminated by strong ighting (especiay an inverter type of fuorescent amp etc.), it might cause the remote contro transmitter not to work correcty. In this case, reposition the main unit to avoid direct ighting. 5

8 CNECTIS Never pug in this unit and other components unti a connections are competed. CNECTIS WITH OTHER COMPENTS When making connections between this unit and other components, be sure a connections are made correcty, that is to say L (eft) to L, R (right) to R, + to + and to. Aso, refer to the owner s manua for each component to be connected to this unit. * If you have YAMAHA components numbered as 1,,, etc. on the rear pane, connections can be made easiy ony by connecting the output (or input) terminas of each component to the same-numbered terminas of this unit. SWITCHED OUTLETS (Austraia mode)... 1 SWITCHED OUTLET Use these to connect the power cords from your components to this unit. The power to the SWITCHED outets is controed by this unit s STANDBY/ switch or the provided remote contro transmitter s POWER / keys. These outets wi suppy power to any component whenever this unit is turned on. The maximum power (tota power consumption of components) that can be connected to the SWITCHED AC OUTLET(S) is 1 watts. GND * termina (For turntabe use) Connecting the ground wire of the turntabe to the GND termina wi normay minimize hum, but in some cases better resuts may be obtained with the ground wire disconnected. For Custom Instaer For U.S.A., Canada and Austraia modes ony REMOTE CTROL (IN, OUT) terminas These terminas are used for custom instaation system. When this unit is connected to the components for custom instaation system, you can operate this unit with the system remote contro. Connect the REMOTE CTROL IN termina of this unit to the output termina of the centra controer for custom instaation system. By connecting the REMOTE CTROL OUT termina of this unit to the REMOTE CTROL IN termina of the other component, you can aso operate the component with the system remote contro. In this way, up to 6 components can be connected in series. 7

10 ANTENNA CNECTIS Each antenna shoud be connected to the designated termina(s) correcty, referring to the foowing diagram. Both AM and indoor antennas are suppied to this unit. In genera, these antennas wi provide sufficient signa strength. Nevertheess, a propery instaed outdoor antenna wi give cearer reception than an indoor one.
