4 Product Informati Safety regulatis The unit may ly be installed and operated by those who are qualified electrical engineers or have received sufficient training and are familiar with both these instructis and the current regulatis for safety at work and accident preventi. Follow VDE, EN as well as local regulatis especially as regards preventative measures! Ignoring the safety regulatis can lead to death, serious injury or cause csiderable damage! Adequate fuse protecti must be provided all output ctacts especially with capacitive and inductive loads. The unit is housed in a powder-coated metal case mountable a mm DIN Rail. Modular design is e of the advantages of the DNDS. It csists of a housing with mounting rails for modules and a back plan with cnectors and a set of modules. One module ctains the internal power supply and output circuits, and e or more modules ctain the moti mitoring electrics. All cnectis are plug able and have spring-loaded clamps. 6 Product Informati Mitoring modules, Moti and standstill mitoring systems The DNDS is designed to failsafe mitor rotary respectively linear motis and standstill. Features: Dual channel moti and standstill mitoring. Cnecti for an encoder to the RJ jack or PNP-proximity sensors to IN and IN Status indicators. Programmable speed setting The DNDS complies with the safety requirements. See below! The circuit is redundant with built-in self-mitoring. The safety functi remains effective in the case of a compent failure. Detecti of moti of machine The moti detecti of an actuati can be accomplished via an encoder, resolver or PNP-proximity sensors. The encoder or Resolver is cnected via a cable adapter DNDA / or / to the DNDS. For moti detecti via PNP proximity sensors the inputs IN and IN are used. When mounting the proximity sensors a tooth wheel, attenti must be paid to mount them in a way, so always at least e of the two sensors is activated. Functi of the inputs IN- inputs: IN and IN are used, if proximity sensors are used for speed mitoring. Two PNP switches are necessary. By cnecting IN cstantly to V DC and IN left open, the mitoring module is forced into detecting solid standstill. In this way the Mitoring module is disabled from mitoring. The inputs D D are a switch between mode respectively mode (D = open) and mode (any D-input cnected to V). M-inputs: The M-inputs can be used, if the mode has not to be mitored. If the D-inputs are used, it is not allowed to use the M-inputs. Only D or M inputs can be used. This characteristic saves external programming over cable links. It is possible to program the inputs D-D or the inputs F-F ly or both of them. To use the internal programming for F-F the positis 9 and 0 at S must be switched off. These switches must be to use external programming by the Clamps. A RJ cnector cnects the resolver. Different cable adapters are available to meet the individual cnector and pin cfiguratis. See product informati DNDA. The cnecti of the mitoring module to the resolver is high impedance, in order not to affect the resolver signals. The modulated signals (sine & cosine) are demodulated and amplified the mitoring module. After the demodulati the frequency is quadrupled and supplied by two channels to the mitoring electric. The resolver signals are cstantly mitored. If e pair of resolver Signal fails ex. (+ Sine / -Sine) the module switches the outputs off. If the module is mitoring standstill and a moti is detected, the module will switch off the outputs. The outputs will stay off even if there is no more moti. To reset, the SH signal may be applied shortly or the unit may be power cycled. Disabled automatic mode The Mitoring module DNDS R V has the opti to disable the mitoring for mode operati (automatic mode). If M and M are cnected to VDC the inputs D D, SH and R are ignored. The speed output ctacts will stay closed. The stop mitoring is not disabled. With M and M not cnected the module functis according to Table or Table respectively. The automatic mode will be mitored by inputs D-D. The mitoring for mode (SH-input) or Mode (R-Input) is ly active, if inputs D-D are open.
