The CMC is a 2-bit value that occupies bytes B and B of the data field. B is the LSB (least significant byte) and B is the MSB (most significant byte). The CMC starts at x6 with the measuring cable fully retracted and ctinues upward to the end of the stroke range stopping at xfe5. This holds true for all ranges. Cverting CMC to Linear Measurement To cvert the current measurment count to inches or millimeters, simply divide the count by 46 (total counts over the range) and then multiply that value by the full stroke range: CMC - 6 X ( 463 ) full stroke range Sample Cversi: If the full stroke range is 25 inches and the current positi is x4ff (279 Decimal) then, ( 46 ) X = inches Error Flags x (GREEN - ON, RED - OFF) indicates the sensor is operating within normal calibrated limits. x33, x55, xaa, xcc (RED or GREEN - FLASHING) indicates sensor is at or beyd it s calibrated measurment range. 5 Baud, Node ID and Data Rate: Baud Rate, Node ID and Data Rate settings are set via dip switch found the internal ctroller board. To gain access to the ctroller board, remove the 4 cover attaching screws and carefully separate the sensor cover from the main body. Be careful not to damage the small gage wires that cnect the ctroller board to the cnector mounted directly to the rear cover.
