Coos County Fair - July Coos County Fair Cowboys, Rides, and Apple Pies Hey everyone, it is Fair time again. Let s get our images together and get ready for a great show. There are a few changes to the categories so go online to: and download your very own copy of the Fair Book for (Just copy and paste the link into your browser). Aaron s will once again furnish us with a large screen TV, giveaways, and water. We also hope to have some coloring pages for the little ones to keep them occupied while waiting for mom and dad. The following is the fair schedule. As always, we really appreciate all the club members who come out and make this such a momentous event. 7 Remember many volunteers make for lighter work. Anyone babysitting the photos will receive free entry to the Fair and if you take 2 shifts you will receive 2 tickets (one for you and one for a friend.) If you haven t signed up yet, please call Don or Carol. Winchester Bay -Art By the Bay September 1 and 2 Art by the Bay 2018 SEPTEMBER 1 and SEPTEMBER 2 nd OCPA will have a show and sale at the Art by the Bay 2018 festival in Winchester Bay. Our space is 10x30 inside the large display tent and is being given to us at no charge. Please put this event on your calendar and plan on bringing your photographs to the sale. WE ARE GOING TO NEED A LOT OF PHOTOS TO FILL THE SPACE. We will need help at the sale for set-up, sales, and tear-down. There will be a sign-up sheet at our August meetings. This event will also be used as an opportunity to recruit new members. Rain or shine: Under two big tents: Free entrance and free parking Come see some of the Pacific Northwest s best artists.../ vendors Food...live entertainment...fishing derby...light House Tours Artists from all over Oregon will be participating in their crafts at annual Art by the Bay festival. You will have a chance to observe styles & skills of Potters, Painters, Carvers, Jewelry and more. You will be able to observe artists sketching all that the Winchester Bay waterfront has to offer. 8 BOARD MEETING MINUTES: OCPA Board Meeting Minutes for June 2018 Meeting came to order at 6:31 pm Board Members present were Bonnie Smith, Renee Marcov, Tony Mason, Curt Benward, Don Todd, Carol Todd, Kathy Chambers, Dick Chambers and Peggy Cooper. Other members present were Bonnie Graham and Carol Pomes. A rare appearance was made by Annie Chambers with Tucker Chambers following Annie! May 2018 meeting minutes previously printed in the Proof shoot were voted on and approved as written with Carol Todd motioning to accept and Don Todd seconding Curt's motion. All voted in favor, with no opposition. Treasure's report: Ending balance was $ Income was $ from the garage sale and $14.00 was from the scavenger hunt fees. Expenses were $22.20 for postage. Renee Marcov motioned to accept treasurer s report with Don Todd seconding Renee s motion. All voted in favor with no opposition Fair: Aaron's will once again provide a TV and DVD player to play our slide show on. Carol has a sign-up sheet to work at the fair. Take in will be Saturday July 21 st and Sunday July 22 nd. Hanging and Potluck will be Sunday January 22 nd 6:00 pm -?. Judging for fair will be Monday June 23 rd. Fair will be held June 24 th -June 28 th. A free ticket to get in will be given to those sitting at the display on fair dates. There are 21 classes and a new class will be selfie. The fair theme is Cowboys, Rides and Apple Pies. 4C's: Competition year is over for color prints, mono prints and EID. Will begin again in October C's Convention: Volunteers are needed! The committee meets every Wed at the college at 5 pm to meet and plan. Everyone is invited to attend. We will be going on various shootouts to see if it would work for field trips at the convention. PVM Show: No dates yet for Fall of 2018 show. Shootouts: No report at this time. MOTY: We didn t get to MOTY at this meeting but will revisit it at the next board meeting in July. Fund Raising: Garage sale this year netted There were tons of donations. If

9 there is a garage sale next year, we need more people to come help set up on Friday early morning. Left over donations were taken to Goodwill. Thanks Curt Benward for doing this for us! Send your articles and images to proofsheet@oregoncoastphotoclub.com Old Business: We judged the scavenger hunt on Monday, June 4 th. There were 7 participants with all 7 submitting all 10 images. There was a good variety. Winners will be announced on Monday June 18 th. Retro night was held May 21 st. There were about 5 participants. Nominating committee has nominated to run for next year s board members. They are Carol Pomes, Curt Benward and Tony Mason. New Business: Carol will talk to Kara about perhaps securing a new meeting room at Pony Village Mall as the one we re currently in is getting too small for us. The annual meeting is Monday July 2 nd, 2018 and there will be NO POTLUCK due to room size, we will still have a potluck at fair hanging. We have been invited to have a booth at the Winchester Art Fair. We want to have input from the general membership before we give this a go. Show would be the 1 st weekend in September. Carol Pomes has agreed to be our liaison for this show and will get in contact with the proper person. Carol Pomes has volunteered to be our membership chairperson for new member recruitment.
