4 The artwork uses cat toys as points and lines. The points and lines form around the cats in the background, giving the piece a personal touch because they are my pets. A point is an infinitely small mark in space while a line is an infinte series of points. These points and lines show unity to form the artwork. 22 I used different colored lines and textures to show the texture of the tree. The rounded elipses show contrast between the more angular background. I used the words "hidden creatures" to describe the world of my work. I made the two creatures and the bird primary colors so there would be contrast from the tree. 24 In objective terms, scale refers to the literal dimensions of a physical object or to the literal correlation between a representation and the real thing it depicts. The use of scale is shown in this piece by replacing the hair of the head as waves and adding the submarine and fish in the head. 26 For this watercolor painting, I used mainly intensity changes in the colors. The intensity change is all of the darker, earth tones in the image. These earth tones accent the primary, secondary and tertiary colors that are used for the rest of the work. The white negative space helps move the viewer attention around the piece. 28 "What if electricity never existed?". I used a picture of an electrical plug because it is a very simple but a common symmbol of electricity. The cords of the plugs leave the center of the work and exit the art board on all sides. This helps the viewers attention to flow through the work. I added primary and secondary colors to the plugs in the foreground in contrast to the large monochromatic one in the background. This large plug gives the background more texture and detail. As for the text, I made the word electricity three dimensional to give it emphasis and additionally used two different fonts for the rest of the phrase. I made the font of the top text large and bold while the bottom text smaller and skinny to create more balance in the work because there is a bigger concentration of plugs in the bottom of the image than in the top.
