1 News from Wool N Things September 2008 Hello my fellow knitters! I am sure that you have all heard by now about our two very special guests coming on October 14 and 15. Kaffe Fassett and Brandon Mably will be at Wool N Things for 2 whole days! They have never been to Ottawa, so the staff of Wool N Things and I are quite thrilled and honored to be their hosts during their visit. Brandon will be giving a one day creative knitting workshop, titled Concentrating on Colour and Design on October 14 and 15. Both classes are sold out at this time, but please give us your name if you are interested in case an opening comes available. Kaffe will be giving a lecture titled Kaleidoscope of Colour, in the evening of Tuesday, October 14 th, which is designed to inspire and motivate! We still have tickets available for this great event! Please see the next page for details. Kaffe will be in and out of the store during those two days, but will be available for book signing at the store and after the lecture in the evening. I will provide you will the exact schedule as soon as it is finalized. **The knitting workshop and evening lecture will take place as scheduled on Oct 14 th even though it is Federal election day.** Please Note: We will be opening on Sunday again starting September 7 th. The new course dates are now listed on our website. We are collecting yarn for two retirement homes in Orleans. If you have yarn that you don't need, please bring it to the store. 3 Kaleidoscope of Colour Lecture by Kaffe Fassett The Kaffe Fassett Kaleidoscope of Colour lecture is designed to inspire and motivate. The power point presentation highlights works from his latest projects these will include his patchwork quilt designs, needlepoint, mosaic, painting and his knitting designs. A tremendous amount of Fassett s inspiration comes from the past and his lecture is designed not so much to instruct, but to empower and inspire the audience to create their mind s eye. Audiences leave invigorated entranced by Fassett s use of (and sense of) color. They are ready to try it themselves, and are encouraged to do so.
