Humphrey Geronimo Senior LACIGS Programme director Drs Humphrey Senior holds degrees in Educational Sciences and Public Administration from the University of Leiden, Netherlands and Postgraduates in Special Education/Learning Disabilities from the University of Miami. He also holds certificates for Project Management and Project Development from the Caribbean Development Bank/World bank. Mr Senior holds a Master s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from the University of Antwerp and a postgraduate Certificate for the University Course in Geopolitics of the Genève Institute of Geopolitical Studies, Geneva Switzerland. He is currently program director of the Latin American and Caribbean Institute for Geopolitics and promotes research projects in sub-state diplomacy and dependency relations and in geopolitics.

3 Lindy-Ann Ignatia Team Member Lindy-Ann Ignatia attended Kolegio Alejandro Paula high school in Curaçao with an economic profile and later attended the Inter-Continental University of the Caribbean. Since 2015, volunteer and assistant manager of the group Niks zo mooi als een glimlach van een kind ; aiming to fulfil basic needs of children on the island trough yearly projects with the result of leaving a thankful smile on their faces. She is currently working on her thesis to finalise her bachelor s degree in Business Administration, majoring in International Hospitality and Tourism Management.

5 Drs. Zaida Elshot-Lake Data base manager Drs. Zaida Elshot-Lake was born on September 23rd 1955 in Curacao. In 1985 she graduated with a Master s degree in Medical Sociology at the Unibersity of leiden in The Netherlands. From 1991 to 2013 she has been the project manager of the Labor Force Surveys for Curacao at the Central Bureau of Statistics. In 2014 Zaida applied for early retirement and since then she has been working as a freelance research consultant in Curacao. She firmly believes in a One Caribbean Nation that communes with all nations in the region and in the world.

6 Drs. Johan Oldenboom Board Member Drs. Johan Oldenboom was born in Curaçao, on January 20th He is a sociologist, specialized in urban sociology security and criminology. Johan is also a part-time journalist specialized in human interest issues. From 2002 to 2015 he lived and studied in Holland. In Holland Johan worked as a journalist, as a project coordinator and as a policy advisor. He worked for the municipalities of Rotterdam and The Hague; for the police department in Rotterdam and for the ministry of security and justice. Since 2015 he is living in Curaçao and works as a lecturer and member of the scientific staff of the University of Curaçao Faculty of social and behavioral sciences. As a LACIGS board member, Johan hopes to contribute to the awareness of Geopolitics in the Latin American and Caribbean region.

7 Wiebe Smit Assistant Program Coordinator Wiebe Smit is a Dutch student from the Wageningen University and Research centre, located in Wageningen, The Netherlands. He was born in the Netherlands on July 14 th Currently, Wiebe is enrolled as a MSc (Master) student in the field of International Development Studies, where he is specialising in the Sociology of Development and Change. During his specialisation phase, Wiebe has expanded his knowledge on International Relations and International (Humanitarian) aid. As an intern, he fulfills the role of assistant program coordinator at the Latin American and Caribbean Institute for Geopolitical Studies during the Winter Course of 2017.

8 Drs. Lianne Leonora Communication officer Drs. Lianne Leonora was born in Curaçao on July 7 th In 2013 she obtained her BA and in 2017 her MA in Social History; both at the University of Leiden in The Netherlands. She is currently working as an information specialist at the university of Curaçao (UoC) assisting lecturers and students with their research and coordinating the cultural heritage department of UoC. Lianne is the communication officer of LACIGS and member of the mangement team. She is active in organizations that promote historical and cultural awareness and considers the LACIGS winter courses as essential events by which knowledge of the Caribbean and of the increasingly complex international relations could be gained.
