7 NDIDA Chairman and First Lady Encourage Convention Attendance Chairman Brian Rensch and First Lady Melissa invite all NDIDA members to attend this year s convention, scheduled for November at the Ramkota Hotel in Bismarck. It s theme is inspired by one of Brian s favorite pastimes - Hunting for Big Bucks! The convention is a great opportunity to step back, gain some perspective, glean valuable information, provide a growth opportunity for employees, and just relax with industry friends old and new. Brian speaks with good authority when it comes to the value of the annual dealer convention, since he was literally born into the farm equipment business. As manager of Rensch Garage, Inc., a New Holland dealership in Makoti, Brian is the third generation to assume operation of the dealership started by his grandfather in A Makoti native, Brian graduated from North Shore High School before earning a Management degree from the University of North Dakota. In 1996, he moved back to Makoti to work for his dad at Rensch Garage, becoming manager in Brian has been a member of the Northern Region New Holland Dealers Advertising Committee and the Versatile Dealer Council. He has been active in his community as a member of the City Council, volunteer fire department, and ambulance service. Brian and First Lady Melissa reside in Makoti with their eleven-year-old daughter, Josie, and eight-month old twins Jack and Sam. Rensch Garage is a long-time member of the North Brian & Melissa Rensch NDIDA Chairman & 1st Lady Dakota Implement Dealers Association, and Brian has served on the NDIDA Board of Directors since The North Dakota Implement Dealers Association (NDIDA), headquartered in Fargo, ND, is the statewide trade association for approximately 120 major line and shortline farm equipment dealers. 11 National Industry Issues at the Forefront NDIDA National Director Roger Gjellstad, Stanley, will update dealers on issues at the national industry level during our association s Annual Business Meeting on Monday, November 15. Roger was raised on a farm and ranch near Velva that was homesteaded by his great grandfather in He attended Velva High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from North Dakota State University in After his college graduation, he worked for International Harvester Company until April of 1974, then went to work at Stanley Equipment, Inc. He purchased the business on January 1, In 2003, he and partner Les Olson started Frontier Equipment in Williston and in 2005 they started Glasgow Implement in Glasgow, MT. In August 2008 Roger and Les, along with five other employees, purchased West Plains Inc. in Dickinson, Beach, Bowman, and Hettinger. All dealerships have Case IH and New Holland full line contracts, along with various shortlines. Roger is a past chairman of the North Dakota Implement Dealers Association, and currently serves as 1st Vice Chairman of the North American Equipment Dealers Association. Roger is a member of the ND Case/IH Roughrider Dealer Organization. He Roger Gjellstad has served on the Stanley City Council and many other community organizations. He is a 24 year member of the Stanley Volunteer Fire Department, and an active member of American Lutheran Church. 19 Princess for a Day! How old are you? Oh no you re not! Not during the Ladies Luncheon you re not! This year, it s no grownups allowed. Only Princesses! Every one of us has a little girl inside who loves to laugh and play. She makes our lives happier and more fun. She has a way of helping us connect with other people and do better at our jobs. She can cheer us up when we re sad. She can even help get us through some pretty tough and scary times.
