1 When you go to the Housing Portal page, this is what you will see. You will use your NetID as your Log- In Name (given to you in our or from the University) and your Password will be your auto generated PIN number we provide to you from StarRez. (The numbers may be off at the top so if you have a question please tell us what is says under the number: ex: Web Profile)

2 Once you sign in you will be brought to this page where you will click on Apply Here. You will then be brought here.click on the term you wish to apply for.

5 Step 2: Personal Details: Some of this will be auto-filled from Banner, you will not be able to change any of the auto-filled information in this portal, but to make changes please call the Admissions office at Please fill in your cell phone number, Missing Person Contact Information and your parent s information on the bottom of the page.

7 Step 3: Criminal Background: This box is if you have EVER been convicted of a felony. If so you will need to meet with the Housing Office before continuing on with the application.

8 Step 4: Additional Info: Please fill in any information here that we should know while you are living in the halls with us. If you need certain accommodations you will need to fill out the ADA form with Disability Support Services, this area will not get you put a head on the single room list if that is what you are requesting. Please fill in any dietary needs so we can share them with Sodexo to help you have a better eating experience at MSUB. Save and Continue

9 Step 5: Profile: Please answer the questions as they pertain to you, this will help match you with a roommate. Remember if your parents are helping you, we need YOU to answer not how your parents think you would answer these questions! Save and Continue

10 Step 6: Room Preferences: Please select the top three preferences you have. you must choose three. Step 7 & 8: You will save and continue at the ResNet Policy and then for the Housing Contract you will need to enter your student ID number, including the dash, at the bottom and click I Agree. There is a contract for those under 18 as well and the parents must put their name in that they also agree.

11 Step 10 and 11 is the payment part: You will need to use a Visa or Mastercard at this point for the deposit. If you are international, you can put your address in but use Billings, MT for the city/state/zip, your card should go through. You will not be allowed any further until the payment is made, including receiving a timeslot for room selection or searching for a roommate. EVERYONE must pay the deposit, including athletes and anyone on scholarships. This deposit is a like a pre-payment for the room and once they move in it will show as a payment on their account. This is NON-refundable and if they cancel their application, they will lose this.

12 New Step 11: Web Profile: (you will only see this after you have paid your application fee) Here you will enter your screen name that other students will see and a short description of yourself. like your hobbies and interests.

13 Step 12: Add Roommates: Here you will see if you have accepted any roommates, if you have a requests, or you can search for someone by details or questions.

14 Search by details looks like this: this is good if you are looking for your friend. This does not work if your friend already lived on campus with us as they are a returner and you are a new resident. If this happens the Housing Office will need to hear from both of you and we can work on getting you together.

15 You will be able to send a message to your prospective roommate when you search for someone and if they search for you. Please search for a roommate even if you wish to be in a single room. Single rooms are available on a first come/first serve basis. It is better to search for a possible roommate and let them know you are hoping for a single room.

16 Step 13: Process Status: You are complete until we open room selections up. You will get an from the Housing Office with your day and time that you can go on to choose a room.

17 Clicking Save & Continue takes you to Step 14, your Confirmation.

18 When we open up a time for you to select a room you will sign back into the portal, click on Application and then the term you are working on. You will then be brought to Step 14: Rooms. You will click on Room Search Wizard on the right. This process starts in May and you will have about four chances to pick your own room, otherwise in Aug the computer will automatically place everyone that is left.

19 Once you click on Room Search Wizard, you will then need to click on a Building in blue.

20 Then click on a floor and Save and Continue.

21 It will then bring you to the rooms on that floor for your gender. All rooms will either say 1/1 for a single room that has a space open; 1/2 for a double room that has one space open; or 2/2 for a double room that has two spaces still open.

22 Once you pick a room it will bring up this screen that gives you 5 minutes to reserve that room. You will click on the down arrow to choose your bed (either A or B). Then click on Reserve Beds. If you confirmed with another person to be roommates whoever has the earliest timeslot can assign both of you to a room. After assigning yourself, you should have a down arrow to show your roommate and you can assign them in the other bed in the room. You can add yourself to the singles waiting list BUT you must pick a room first! The waiting list is kept on a date basis, so as more singles can be open we will be contacting you.

23 After you select your room you will be at Step 15 Meal Plans: You must select a meal plan at this time.

24 You are then brought to Step 16, Confirmation: you will see this screen with your information. This is your final page in the process.

25 If you click View Profile under Occupancy Information you will get this for your bed or if you want to view the other bed.
