2 PAYMENT STRUCTURE The cost is 1,500 for the summer (70 nights from the date you move in) plus a 250 security and cleaning deposit. If you want to extend your stay past 70 nights, that s alright. 70 days is however the minimum contract. To secure your place, you will need to make a 1,250 payment up front, which is due within 5 days of returning this application form to secure your place. The additional 500 payment is due on or before July 6th. Payment can be made online at J1Accom.com or via bank transfer. HOW TO SIGN UP & PAY To sign up please fill out the application form for your group, make sure everyone has read it and understands how it all works. Each person returns the first page. If you all return your forms together then we will know who s in your group and we can then give you the room or rooms next to each other that suits your needs best. Once you have completed the form, please it to Chicago@J1Accom.com. Please CC everyone s so that everyone has the contract in their inbox for reference and we have everyone s for future correspondence. Once we review your application, and if places are still available, we will confirm your stop is held and clear each of you to make payment on the website. Please note that places are held only on receipt of payment and we work on a first come, first served basis. 3 The contract is 70 nights minimum but we always welcome extensions. It s allinclusive meaning all your bills, Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels, use of your own digital safe etc. are all included. However, you may need to buy pots or cutlery depending. We also run culture nights and help you adapt to your new city as best we can. For this we charge 1,500 plus a fully refundable 250 deposit. You pay 1,250 upfront to secure your place and then the remaining balance of 500 before July 6th to bring you up to 70 days. If you would like to extend past 70 days you can do so, it s per night which you can pay before your 70 days come to an end. ELIGIBILITY In Chicago for a summer? Are you aged between 18 and 28? Then J1Accom.Com can accommodate you. If you re on a holiday visa, have American citizenship, an internship between May 15th and September 15th, you are eligible to stay. CHECKING IN DAY 1 We try and make everything as easy as possible. After jumping off your long-haul flight, going through customs, the last thing you want is to drag your 32kg bag around the city aimlessly or catch the subway in the wrong direction. That s why our check-in procedure makes it a hassle-free experience and even 5,893 kilometres away from home, you ll be met with a warm Céad Míle Fáilte. Once you make payment you will be assigned a room, the day you arrive into Chicago you will know the address of our building and room number so you can check into your new home a couple hours after touching down. 4 Next day when you re not lugging your suitcase, you should get a 7-day unlimited 7-Day CTA Pass for $28, this is by far the best way to get around Chicago and with the Green and Red lines of the train and the bus right outside your door the city couldn t be more accessible. Once you arrive at the building we will meet and greet you, show you around your new home and check you and your friends into your room, a new launch pad to start exploring. Each campus will have a 24-hour security team at the front desk, a cleaner for the common areas, a maintenance team in case something breaks, a mail room, two on call resident authority s (RA s) from the college but your main point of contact for everything will be an onsite J1Accom representative, a friendly face who can help you with anything and everything. 3.

If you can t get in touch or need someone else to talk to, just Paul@J1Accom.Com who is the main organiser for both cities. DEPOSIT Each person pays a 250 deposit. Deposits will be returned via bank transfer to your Irish account between the dates of September 15th and 30th. Please your typed out IBAN and BIC (Do not screenshot your details, please type them) and to the Chicago@J1Accom.Com on check out. You will receive your refund in full if your rooms are clean and you didn t breech the codes of conduct or break anything. We are not very strict at J1Accom but we do ask you to be respectful and we ll get on like a house on fire. We are all for having the craic and creating a buzzing community for Irish J1ers but we need you to be respectful of everyone else around you. You cannot use your deposit to pay for your last week s rent. Deposits will not be returned before September 15th. ALLOCATION OF ROOMS In Chicago, we have a variety of room types and sizes. All rooms are suite-style meaning you only share a bathroom with your room mates. Room types range from a twin-bed suite style with a shared bathroom and a shared kitchen space on each floor to apartments style in our State Street Village (SSV), there is also a sky deck area for you to hang out on at the top of each building with views of the campus and city skyline, perfect for long summer nights. We have 200 beds in SSV, all of which are reserved for Irish J1ers to live together for a unique summer experience. 4.

6 GUEST POLICY We welcome you to have friends call over to see you, stay a few nights and chill out on campus. However, in the interest of public safety we need those people to sign-in at the front desk. You can sign two people in during the day at the front desk. The maximum stay is 3 days and their ID will be kept at the front desk during this period of time. If you want to sign-in two people, please do it before 10pm as after that each tenant can only sign-in one person each. You must accompany your guests each time you enter the building. You can sign-in two guests for 3 days or longer if they sign up and pay the per night. DAMAGES & REPAIRS Please let us know if something isn t working properly, as we want your stay to be a comfortable one. Requests for repairs should be submitted via to Chicago@ J1Accom.Com or you can stop by the Summer conference office in the MSV building. Timely requests will enable us to respond appropriately and will make your stay more comfortable. CHECK OUTS Please check out of your room before 12:00 noon of the last day of the contract s term unless written arrangements were made in advance. If you need to extend your stay, please have it booked and paid for 5 days in advance of your due check out date. Remember we welcome extensions past 70 days but we need to have these worked and out and paid for in advance so we can let security know you re still a resident and keep your room reserved for you. 5.

7 You will not be considered officially checked out of their room until all personal possessions are removed and room keys (or access cards) are returned. You agree to follow outlined check-out policy when moving out of the residence hall. You may incur fees including but not limited to cleaning fees, damage fees, and a nightly fee for each additional day you stay past the contract end date. Please sign out at front desk and send an to Chicago@J1Accom.com to confirm your check out. Please note: You may not re-enter the building or campus or check in as a guest after your check out date. Violation of this will result in loss of deposit in full. LIABILITY The Illinois Institute of Technology and J1Accom assumes no responsibility or liability for the personal property of guests. This includes, but is not limited to, damage or loss due to fire, theft, flooding, vandalism, abandonment, and the like. If the guests desire this kind of protection, they must make their own arrangements for renter s insurance. This is standard practice in America if you want insure your apartment and costs $15 per apartment per month. CANCELATION POLICY Cancelations that are made 14 days before scheduled check in will receive a full refund. Cancelations within 14 days of check in date receive 75% refund. Please allow 10 working days for refunds to be made into the account that originally made the payment. Please note that if you or people in your group leave then we may need to consolidate rooms which may result in you needing to switch rooms or get a new roommate. 6.

8 WANT TO RECORD YOUR SUMMER? Each summer we invite all residents to enter our blog and imagery competition. All you have to do is write a short blog similar to those on the website now and to Chicago@J1Accom.com at the end of the summer and you could be in with a chance of winning 400. We invite entries for this September once you have had a chance to reflect on your summer. PICTURE COMPILATION/VLOG Record the summer and submit your memories of staying with J1Accom in Chicago and win 300 from the pictures you have taken. We will pick the best compilation of (minimum 15) pictures or a video over 3 minutes that reflects and captures the community feeling and spirit that we try to create during your summer of a life time living in Chi-Town. 7.
