30 L O G O C O L O R S P E C I F I C A T I O N S Our proprietary color, Pointwise Blue, is strong and sophisticated. It is vital that we maintain color consistency across all areas of communication and use the Pointwise Blue as the color standard across all our businesses. Our Pointwise Green is used for Let s Talk Meshing applications. For printed media, use PANTONE 286 for Pointwise Blue and use PANTONE 382 for Pointwise Green. In certain situations, it may not always be possible to use the PANTONE equivalent. For these situations, we have established four-color process, RGB and hexadecimal equivalents. Use a PNG with transparent background when placing the logo on a colored background. PNG & GIF files are always RGB. SVG Scalable Vector Graphics is an XML-based vector image format for two-dimensional graphics with support for interactivity and animation. SVG files with the Pointwise logo specified can be used when designing for both for screen or print applications. EPS (Adobe Illustrator CS4 and up) Adobe Illustrator EPS vector-based files suitable for illustration and page layout programs such as Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. EPS file can be resized as needed without losing quality. Requires the Adobe Illustrator application to open and a PostScript printer and driver to print. Color Modes RGB Is best for anything used on screen. Example banner ads, video. PMS Is best for print when available. Example promotional items, stationary & T-shirts. CMYK Is best for anything for print when PMS is not available. Example signs, brochures. B R A N D I D E N T I T Y M A N U A L 3 1
32 R E S I Z I N G T H E L O G O S The Pointwise logos must always be resized proportionally.! Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, etc.) There are two ways to ensure that the Pointwise logo is always scaled proportionally in Microsoft Office applications: When resizing the logo visually, hold down the Shift key while dragging a corner of the artwork. When resizing the logo numerically, use the Format Picture option in the MS Office application. First select the logo by clicking on it. Then select the Format > Picture menu. Choose the Size tab and enter a numerical value to resize the artwork. Be sure to click the Lock Aspect Ratio box or enter the same numerical value in for both height and width. InDesign When resizing the Pointwise logo in InDesign, always use the same numerical value in the X% and Y% scales. Logos may also be resized up or down in 5% increments with the following shortcuts: +5% Mac: command/option/shift/>(right arrow) PC: control/alt/shift/>(right arrow) B R A N D I D E N T I T Y M A N U A L 3 2
