1 PRODUCTION PLAN This document is about the production plan, for more general information about production planning and management, see the document Production Management T O P L A N P R O D U C T I O N You have the option of displaying the planning for the day or for the week. The header section is the same for both, and the functionality is also the same. The main difference is what can be viewed on one screen. This document will focus on the Week Plan, with specific day plan comments at the end. The plan is not populated until a date or department/bake type is changed or refresh button is clicked. S E L E C T I O N S ( H E A D E R S E C T I O N ) Despatch date can be typed in, or move up or down a day/week with the arrows, F8 or double click for pop up calendar. This is the first day of the displayed week. Man Minutes for viewing time required (see Man Minutes below) Options displays a dialogue box (see Production Plan Options below) Refresh refreshes the data displayed particularly helpful when the planned quantity of one item changes the requirements for another. 2 Department / Bake Type clicking on the button will change which product grouping is used. The department / type can be typed in the box, or double click and select or use the arrows to go up or down one or to beginning or end of list. All Rows Planned items or Exceptions. Determines which products (Rows) will be displayed. Use Last Weeks Requirements If checked will show last week s requirements, with adjustments, in the required column. (see Production Plan Options below for setting the adjustment amount) Use Forecast sets the required quantities by the forecast. (See forecast document). This is only an option if Forecast on plan is selected as per Display Options below. Print Plan prints, or exports, the production plan. 3 D I S P L A Y O P T I O N S ( B O D Y ) Products (whether finished, Mui or Pip) will only display if on plan is ticked on the product. Whether Minimum Stock, Forecast or Shifts (day plan only) show on the plan is set on File > Company Details > Baker Constants II on the Production panel. These must be ticked if you want them to be displayed on the production plan. 4 P R O D U C T H E A D E R The header colour can be set on the product brand (default is Yellow) A left click in the left side of the product header (Blue high-light) will display the product edit screen (same as going to Products > Finished Products and selecting the product). Holding the left mouse button on the right side of the product header blue highlight above, will display stock and plan status, as below. A right click in the same area opens the dialog box, as below, to add a production comment, which appears alongside the product name and on production documents. ALB AKE.COM FE BRU ARY 2013 P AG E 4

5 N U M B E R S A N D C O L O U R S Opening What GB has as the on hand stock in the default location for that product. If the item is not keep stock then opening will always be zero. Run and Hub stock are not included, nor is stock that has been transferred from the default location. Green indicates an actual stock value, reliable. Will be green following a stock-take or production confirmation so long as there are no other calculations required. Black indicates a calculated field, using last actual and made, required, planned etc since then. Blue indicates that production has been confirmed, (not necessarily complete). Already Made This is what has been confirmed as made on that day, if any has been confirmed the figures for that day will be blue, (may be only part of production or confirmed none made, so this can change with a further confirmation posting). Requirement What has been sold or ordered and therefore needs to be made on that day. Depending on other system settings, this can include sales dockets, hub and run orders, but will not include truck or branch sales or transfers. Clicking on this field will bring up the details of the contributing orders. It is possible to include other requirements in the total required, such as bulk packs made from a finished item, by selecting Req Inc Plan on company details, baker constants II. 6 Plan This is what is planned to be made. The planned quantity can be auto filled (see use forecast and set plan under production plan options below) and / or entered here. On the day plan this can be displayed as three shifts (see display options body above) A production note can be added to the planned quantity, a red C appears beside the planned quantity. This can be entered by right clicking in the plan square If there has been a change to the requirement since the planned quantity was last updated, the plan square for that day will be red ALB AKE.COM FE BRU ARY 2013 P AG E 6

7 O P T I O N S B U T T O N For Day defaults to first day in Plan, can be selected, is basis for other options and prints. To end of plan will do the set plan to the end of the displayed plan week. Set Plan to make Minimum Stock sets the plan to make Min Stock based on... No Req. Requirements not used in calculating plan Use Req Uses requirement in calculating plan Forecast Uses forecast in calculating plan Only this dropdown selects whether all planned items are set or just the category (selected bake type or department) on the plan. Output Select the product range and type of output. These prints can be done from elsewhere also, but each can be useful in finalising the plan. NB Printing the Stock sheet also creates the stock issue based on the planned production and recipes, and by doing so uses the ingredients. 8 M A N M I N U T E S The man minutes can be displayed grouped by Departments or Bake Types. This can be used to determine if there is sufficient labour available to fulfil the planned production at each point. Minutes required are calculated based on the number that has been planned, or if not planned, then the requirement is used. The minutes are calculated using the recipes in each department or bake type, whether they are on plan or not, required for the total production. Fixed man minutes are included once for each recipe, while variable man minutes are multiplied by the number of batches (total yield) of that recipe to be made. ALB AKE.COM FE BRU ARY 2013 P AG E 8

9 D A Y P L A N This can also be accessed by clicking on the date header on the week plan Shifts, if selected to display, will display on the day plan but not the week plan. It is easier to see what is planned for a larger group of products (on the selected day). Production comment does not display and is not accessible.
