1 Easily Accessing Current Courses on D2L There are two ways to make courses easier to access on D2L: 1. Pinning courses in the Select a course menu 2. Collapsing semesters in the My Courses widget Note: You can click on the titles above in order to jump to those specific directions in this document.

2 Pinning Courses in the Select a course Menu Return to Top 1. Login to D2L 2. Click on the dropdown menu titled Select a course which is at the top left hand corner of the D2L homepage. 3. This dropdown menu will show all of your courses from your current and previous semesters in alphabetical order. Notice that to the right of each course there is a faded thumbtack. Please note that if you have a lot of courses in the dropdown menu not all of them will initially appear. If this happens then click on Load More Courses to see more of your courses.

3 Notice the faded thumbtacks Click here to see more of your courses 4. Click the faded thumbtacks next to the courses that you want to easily access, like the courses you are currently taking. When you click on a faded thumbtack it should turn orange. Make sure the thumbtacks turn orange for the classes you want to easily access 5. Refresh the page by clicking on My Home which is to the left of the Select a course dropdown menu.

4 6. Now click on the Select a course dropdown menu again and notice that all the courses you clicked the thumbtacks for are at the top of the course list. The thumbtacks for the courses you selected should still be orange. Now every time you login to D2L the classes you selected will be at the top of the class list for the Select a course dropdown menu. 1. Click the dropdown menu 2. 5 7. If it is a new semester and you want to remove your old courses from the top of the class list, then click on the orange thumbtacks next to the classes you would like to remove. Make sure the orange thumbtacks go back to being a faded thumbtacks. Click on the orange thumbtacks of your old classes to remove them from the top of the class list 8. Refresh the page by clicking on My Home again. If you click on the Select a course dropdown menu the old classes you clicked the orange thumbtacks for should no longer be at the top of the class list and their thumbtacks should now be faded again. Now you can add your new courses to the top of the class list.

6 1. Click My Home to refresh the page 2. Check to see if your old classes have been removed from the top of the class list

7 Collapsing Courses in the My Courses Widget Return to Top 1. Login to D2L 2. On your homepage you should see a My Courses section underneath your News section, which is in the middle of the page. 3. The My Courses section will list all the courses you have had and currently have by semester. You can collapse previous semesters so all you see is your current semester class list. You can do this by clicking on the arrows next to the semesters you want to collapse. Notice that if you hover over the arrow before clicking on it, it will say Collapse, the semester, and year. For example, if you are collapsing the Summer 2014 semester it will say Collapse Summer 2014.

8 Click to collapse the Summer 2014 semester Click to collapse the Spring 2014 semester 4. Once you have collapsed all your previous semesters your My Courses section will look similar to the one below. Now every time you login to D2L the semester course lists you have collapsed will remain collapsed.

9 In this example, the Summer 2014 and Spring 2014 semesters have been collapsed and the Fall 2014 is the current semester 5. After you collapse past semesters you can revisit the class lists by clicking on the arrow next to the semester you would like to view. This will expand the class list for that semester. Notice that if you hover over the arrow before clicking on it, it will say Expand, the semester, and year. For example, if you are expanding the Summer 2014 semester it will say Expand Summer 2014.
