3 1A.01 SCOPE BRADICICH CONSULTING ENGINEERS PTY LTD ELECTRICAL GENERAL - 1A This section of the Specification deals with the electrical installation of light, power in general and other requirements as set out in this Specification and Drawings. 1A.02 STANDARDS AND RULES The requirements of the S.A.A. Wiring Rules and other S.A.A. publications relating to design, manufacture or installation of electrical equipment shall be taken as the minimum standard. The installation shall be in accordance with the particular requirements of the local Supply Authority. 1A.03 INSPECTION AND TESTS All fittings, apparatus or accessories shall be fully compliant with the relevant Codes and shall be tested as required under the Electricity Act. All items shall be installed to AS3000/2007 and relevant Test Certificates shall be supplied to the Engineer on request. GST is applicable to this installation 1A.04 BALANCE OF LOAD As far as possible, balance the load on the distribution boards and also on the complete installation over the individual phases of the supply. 1A.05 EARTHING The complete installation shall be earthed to approval in accordance with the S.A.A. Wiring Rules and the requirements of the Supply Authority. 1A.06 SEGREGATION OF SERVICES All wiring associated with other services such as Telstra, T.V. and alarm systems shall be segregated as required under the Code. 1A.07 DANGER SIGNS AND LABELS Danger signs and labels of an appropriate size shall be fitted in areas and on equipment where dangerous conditions exist. 1A.08 FEES AND NOTICES The Inspecting Authorities requirements in regard to testing and giving notice, paying of fees and similar items shall be met in all regards in carrying out the works of this Contract. All relevant test and approval certificates shall be handed to the Superintendent at practical completion. 1A.09 CONTRACTORS GUARANTEE Guarantee all materials and works in accordance with the Building General Conditions of Contract Bryden St, Windsor. 4 1A.10 ELECTRO MAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY All equipment installed on this Project shall be EMC compliant. Provide certified proof from all Manufacturers that the equipment supplied is EMC compliant at the completion of the Project. 1A.11 THE SITE The Site: BRYDEN STREET, WINDSOR. The Head Contractor shall peruse and familiarize him/herself with the detailed construction of the building and ensure that the most practical method is used during the construction. 1A.13 SUPPLY AUTHORITY The Supply Authority is ENERGEX. 1A.14 ELECTRICITY SUPPLY The electricity supply is 415V/240V 3 phase 50 Hz. All equipment selected shall be suitable for operation on the above voltage and frequency. 1A.15 THE WORK The work under this section of the Contract shall comprise the complete electrical installation and all other associated works necessary to place the electrical installation in full working order. A general description of the work is the supply, installation and commissioning of the following: MAINS including the property pole connection box on the pole, conduits, cable tray, cables and metering of the supply Bryden St, Windsor. 5 MAIN SWITCHBOARD including main isolators, meter links, distribution sections, fuses, busbar, labelling, relays and controls as indicated on the drawing and specified herein. SUBMAINS including conduits, penetrations, lugs, glands and earth cable as indicated on the drawings and specified herein. GENERAL LIGHT AND POWER including conduit, cabling, controls, general purpose outlets, permanently connected equipment, time switches and controls as directed on the drawings and specified herein. LIGHT FITTINGS including control gear, lamps, diffusers, generally as indicated on the drawings and specified herein. TELEPHONE SYSTEM including the trenching, conduits, MDF, IDF'S, earthing and final connection. MASTER ANTENNA TELEVISION SATELITE (MATV) SYSTEMS including the antenna, amplifiers, cables, splitters and alike and outlets. FINISHES AND TESTS including all brackets, labelling fixings, painting, tests and commissioning and 'as installed' drawings. 1A.16 SUPPLY AUTHORITY CHARGES, FEES, DEPOSITS AND NOTICES General Allowance shall be made in this contract for the following: (a) Make the application and obtain the Meter Deposit to enable permanent supply to be connected to the site. Meter Deposits Make the application for connection of supply and obtaining the necessary signatures and cost to finally submit the application. All deposits shall be made in the Building Owner s name and receipts shall be submitted to the Superintendent Bryden St, Windsor. Job No: 1058 Page 5 of 30

6 1B.01 GENERAL SECTION 1 TECHNICAL MAINS - 1B The following section deals with the supply and installation of the mains to the Project. It is the Electrician's responsibility to provide the Supply Authority with adequate notice to ensure that supply is available on the site at the required time as set out by the Builder's Program. 1B.02 CONSUMERS MAINS The consumers mains shall be connected and installed from the Energex Pole by overhead reticulation system by Energex. The Electrician shall supply and install the mains from the point of entry on the building to the main switchboard. The point of entry shall be defined as the connection box on the property pole. He shall further co-ordinate with the Supply Authority with regards to connecting boxes and eye bolts required to enable the cable connection and advise the Builder of the requirements. The Electrician shall pay all costs associated with the installation of the main and shall further initially make the application for connection of supply and pay all fees associated with this connection. 1B.03 METERING Supply and install a meter panel to house the KWH meters as indicated on the drawings. The meter panel may form part of the main switchboard. Pay all fees and make all necessary applications and enquiries to ensure that the metering is installed to the satisfaction of the Supply Authority. 1B.04 UNDERGROUND CABLE Prior to commencing this portion of the installation, the Electrical Contractor shall contact all appropriate Authorities and Sub-Contractors regarding existing water mains and other service pipes. The Electrical Contractor shall ensure that the trenches are adequately barricaded to prevent any hazard to external personnel. The cables shall be laid in accordance with the relevant Clauses 3.11 of the Code. Requirements such as depth and mechanical protection shall be followed. The trench shall be back filled, compacted and consolidated by tamping in layers. Redundant material shall be removed from site by the Electrical Contractor. The Electrical Contractor shall ensure that joints do not occur on the cable run unless specifically indicated. He shall be responsible for on site measurement to determine accurate cable lengths. He shall provide all the necessary sand and material to form the pits indicated on the drawings Bryden St, Windsor. Job No: 1058 Page 6 of 30

7 1B.05 EXCAVATIONS All excavations for underground conduits and cables shall be carried out under this Section of the Contract. 1B.06 TRENCHES Trenches shall be excavated to a sufficient depth to give a minimum cover as required by Table 3.6 and 3.7- of AS3000 above finished cable and conduits to the finished ground level or as required by the Supply Authority. 1B.07 BACKFILLING Backfilling shall be accomplished as soon as possible after the ducts of conduit installation has been approved by the Architect. Make good all roads, paths, lawns and the like disturbed during the installation. 1B.08 UNDERGROUND CONDUITS OR DUCTS Supply and install all conduits or ducts in the positions shown on the drawings. They shall comply with the requirements of the S.A.A. Wiring Rules or as specifically indicated on the drawings to the Supply Authority requirements Bryden St, Windsor. Job No: 1058 Page 7 of 30

8 1C.01 GENERAL BRADICICH CONSULTING ENGINEERS PTY LTD ELECTRICAL MAIN SWITCHBOARD - 1C This section of the Specification deals with the supply and installation of a main switchboard, the classification required and standard of components to be provided. 1C.02 CLASSIFICATION The main switchboard shall comply with the relevant requirements of AS The main switchboard shall be suitable for: (a) (b) (c) Outdoor operation, Weatherproof. Stationary. Dead front. (d) Form 2. (e) M.E.N. earth system. (f) IP rating 54. The switchboard shall be front connected with front access only. It shall be similar to a B&R enclosure or similar will be sufficient. 1C.03 MAIN SWITCHES AND ISOLATORS Supply and install main switches as indicated on the Schematic Layout. The switches shall be of Dumeco or similar manufacture Fault Make Load Break Switches to a minimum fault level indicated above. 1C.04 SUBCIRCUIT CIRCUIT BREAKERS Provide a distribution section complete with circuit breakers on the main switchboard generally as indicated on the drawings. 1C.05 DISTRIBUTION SECTION General Supply and install the Distribution Section complete with circuit breakers generally in accordance with the following requirements and in accordance to AS The general schematic of each distribution section shall be as indicated on the drawings. Construction The distribution section shall be of the dead front, multi-pole totally enclosed type, containing moulded case circuit breakers and other equipment that may be required as indicated on the drawings Bryden St, Windsor. 9 1C.05 DISTRIBUTION SECTION (cont) Escutcheons shall be fixed to the panelboard box by fastening screws with knurled heads and suitable chromed hinges to enable the escutcheon to be removed if necessary at the other end and to allow easy access to the panelboard interior. The door shall be of the dished type constructed zinc coated steel and the finish shall be the same as for the remaining section of the Board. The doors shall be fitted with locks, keyed alike, and two keys supplied. The doors shall be easily removable and shall cover the escutcheon screws. Where multiple cables enter or leave the distribution section from the top or the bottom of the Board, insulating pieces shall be provided to ensure that cables are generally protected against sharp edges and the switchboard is closed against vermin. The pieces shall be zelamite or similar and shall be shaped to allow the entry of cables and bolted to the frame of the switchboard. Foam will not be acceptable. Neutral and earth bars of adequate size to AS shall be provided. Segregate the control section from the protection and isolation section. Relays, contactors, time switches shall be installed in a separate compartment and wired to marked terminal strips. The cables entering or leaving these strips shall also be marked. Cables to distribution breakers shall be kept in location by an insulated bracket constructed in a spiral form to enable cables to be included or removed at ease. Items such as main switches and locations of control sections shall be modified to cater for particular requirements of the site conditions basically as indicated on the drawings. Busbars The busbar and tee-offs shall be made of high conductivity, hard drawn copper and shall be fully insulated and colour coded. The busbar system shall be Type Tested at a fault level of 18 KA for 0.08 seconds. Tongues shall be provided for all future circuits where circuit breakers are not installed. Circuit Breakers Circuit breakers shall be of the clip-on type and interconnected with a three phase busbar system which must not rely on the circuit breaker terminals for support. They shall be thermal magnetic in operation. Construction shall allow for complete interchangeability of single or multi-pole breakers without alteration to busbar connection or breaker mounting fixtures. A separate lift-out tray assembly shall be provided to mount breakers and busbar supports. Circuit breakers shall comply with AS3111 and shall have a minimum fault current capacity of 5000 amps and shall be capable of withstanding the let through energy interrupted by the backup fuses indicated on the drawings, in any case no less than 160 amps Bryden St, Windsor. 10 1C.05 DISTRIBUTION SECTION (cont) Power and Control Switches Manual power switches for isolating as scheduled or indicated on the drawings shall be fuse switch units fitted with links or alternatively double air-break, rotary operation flush mounted type. The handles of rotary operation switches shall be of the lever type designed to give a marked and positive indication of switched position. Contactors Supply and install contactors controlling the lighting as indicated on the drawings. The contactors selected shall be co-ordinated with the circuit breakers protecting the contactors to Type 'C' category. All contactors shall be fitted with 20AMP contacts to AC3 rating. Where necessary the distribution circuit breakers may be of a higher fault rating capacity than the general distribution breakers. Earth Leakage Units General Supply and install the earth leakage units as indicated on the drawings. Classification The Units shall be Type II unit operating at 30 ma as required under the Australian Standard AS Time Switches Supply and install time switches as indicated on the drawings. The units shall be equal to the NHP Talento 894. The units shall be recessed within the distribution board with only the face of the clock showing. The time switches shall control the contactors as indicated on the drawings. A bypass switch marked accordingly shall be installed on the front panel. This switch shall be a rotary switch with the following control: Auto - Time Switch Off Bypass - When required to operate outside set hours. Reference shall be made to the Schematic for inclusion of a contactor for DAYLIGHT switches specified elsewhere in this Specification Bryden St, Windsor. Job No: 1058 Page 10 of 30

11 1C.05 DISTRIBUTION SECTION (cont) Earth Bars Earth bars shall be supplied with each distribution board. All earth bars shall be fitted with two screws for each earthing conductor and shall be numbered to coincide with the number of circuits available on the switchboard. The main earth cable shall be bolted under a lug on to the main earth bar. Neutral Bars Neutral bars shall correspond to all requirements of the earth bar. Wherever earth leakage has been called up, a separate neutral bar shall be provided and the bar is to be marked: Schedule Earth Leakage NEUTRAL Bar' A machine typed schedule of circuits shall be provided at all distribution boards. Terminals Where distribution includes one or more contactors the circuit breakers and contactors shall be prewired to terminal strips. The terminal strips shall be suitably marked and shall be Utilux rail mounted allowing 100% spare capacity on the rail. Contactor Chamber Contactors, relay, etc. shall be din rail mounted and shall be segregated from all protection equipment or isolating gear. The separate section shall be clearly marked: Emergency Lighting Test Control 'Contactors Behind This Panel'. Provision shall be made for a contactor or contactors and control switch to control the emergency lighting in the building as specified under Emergency Lighting and Exit Signs. The Test Switch shall activate a Timer which shall keep the Emergency lighting in operation for a period of two (2) hours. The Timer shall be adjustable 0 3 hours. The system shall, after the test period, return to normal charge operation. 1C.06 CONNECTION TO PROTECTION EQUIPMENT All connections of cabling to CFS units, fuses or busbars shall be made by suitable lugs, crimped with correct crimping tools. 1C.07 BUSBARS Busbars shall be used from the main switches to all CFS units and on distribution sections feeding circuit breakers and fuses Bryden St, Windsor. 12 1C.07 BUSBARS (cont) It shall be hard drawn high conductivity copper rated to suit the current carrying capacity. Due consideration shall be given to the enclosure operating temperature and short circuit conditions. The busbars shall be adequately supported to withstand fault currents and shall comply with the latest relevant standard. All joints shall be electro-tinned and bolted with high tensile bolts. Busbar work for future extensions shall be drilled and terminated so that future equipment may be included without any modifications or additions. Distribution section busbars shall be provided with take-off tongues to accept initial and future extensions. All active busbars shall be PVC insulated. Provide neutral and earth busbars as required and consider the future extensions. 1C.08 METERLINKS AND DISCONNECT LINKS Meter Links and Disconnect Links shall comply with the requirements of the Supply Authority in their capacity and location. 1C.09 MAIN SWITCHBOARD CONSTRUCTION The switchboard shall be constructed of 2 mm. full finished sheet steel and be free standing and vermin proof. The front panels shall form uniform planes without protrusions or sharp edges. B & R enclosure or similar is suitable. Removable panels shall be fitted with lifting handles. All hinged doors shall be fitted with chrome plated lift off hinges and lockable lever handle latches. The general arrangement and schematic shall be as indicated on the drawings. 1C.10 SMALL WIRING Internal wiring shall be neatly saddled, loomed and terminated in terminal strips. All cabling shall be numbered by means of ferrules fitted to both ends of the cable. 1C.11 PAINTING After manufacture, the enclosure shall be cleaned of rust blemishes, welding slag, burrs and any sharp edges, and then painted with a primer and two (2) coats of enamel. The interior shall be gloss white; the exterior - colour to be selected. Alternatively the switchboard may be powder coated with the colours indicated above. 1C.12 LABELLING General Provide labelling of the main switchboard as required by the Code and to the satisfaction of the Electrical Engineer Bryden St, Windsor. 13 1C.12 LABELLING (cont) The labels shall be machine engraved Traffolyte and screwed to the switchboard using chrome headed screws. Refer elsewhere for further description on labelling. Schedule A machine typed schedule of circuits shall be provided at all distribution sections. The schedule shall indicate: Circuit No. Description Protection in AMPS Each CFS unit and major circuit breaker shall be marked with the protection capacity installed. 1C.13 CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS Provide detailed shop drawings, complete with the line schematic of the main switchboard, for approval. Due consideration shall be given to: (a) (b) Point of entry and cable size. Space allocated for the purpose of the switchboard. The construction shall not proceed until the drawing is approved. Concurrently the drawings shall be submitted to the local Supply Authority for their approval and comment. The drawing shall be submitted only after the Electrical Foreman or Supervisor has signed the drawing to confirm that he has checked the above. 1C.14 SCHEMATIC LAYOUT Supply and install a framed A3 drawing of the main switchboard and associated distribution boards beside the main switchboard. The schematic shall indicate all submains and subcircuit cables including the sizes of protection provided. The frame shall be metal and the drawing shall be placed behind glass bordered by the frame. The drawing shall be mounted on three ply or similar material. 1C.15 CONTACTORS, RELAYS AND CONTROLS Supply and install all contactors, relays and controls indicated on the drawings. The details of the equipment required is covered elsewhere in this Specification. All control equipment shall be installed in a segregated compartment as specified elsewhere in this Specification under 'Distribution Boards'. 1C.16 ALLOCATED SPACE Ensure that the building space allocated will cater for the space required. Ensure that the switchboard fits neatly into the space allocated. Panels above and below the switchboard where required shall be manufactured of similar material and be of the same colour as the switchboard Bryden St, Windsor. Job No: 1058 Page 13 of 30

15 1D.01 SCOPE BRADICICH CONSULTING ENGINEERS PTY LTD ELECTRICAL SUBMAINS - 1D This section deals with the supply and installation of the submains from the main switchboard to the distribution boards and the methods to be adopted. 1D.02 GENERAL Supply and install to all distribution boards the submains indicated on the drawings. The submains unless indicated otherwise shall be installed on cable tray and in conduit for the entire length. Should alternative methods be proposed, the cable shall be upgraded to suit the alternative method. All cables shall be strapped to the cable tray using approved plastic or nylon straps. Exit of cables out of the main switchboard shall be carried out using suitable brass glands. This shall include the entry of the submains from the site main switchboard. 1D.03 PENETRATIONS Where submains penetrate through floors or walls the cables shall penetrate through suitable sleeves and the sleeves in turn sealed to maintain fire ratings between floors and walls. 1D.04 TERMINATION Cable termination on to equipment shall be carried out using suitable lugs to suit the equipment. 1D.05 EARTH CABLE Each submain shall be accompanied by its own earth cable sized to suit the submain as set out in AS3000. The only exception to the above is where an MEN system would apply to a building detached from the main building which houses the Main Switchboard Bryden St, Windsor. Job No: 1058 Page 15 of 30

16 1E.01 SCOPE BRADICICH CONSULTING ENGINEERS PTY LTD ELECTRICAL GENERAL LIGHT AND POWER - 1E This section of the specification deals with the various items of material, equipment and method of terminations of various supplies. 1E.02 CONDUITS All conduits shall comply with all the requirements of the relevant Australian Standard Specifications. No conduit less than 20 mm. diameter shall be used without prior approval. Flexible conduit shall be used to connect conduit runs to free standing equipment and equipment subject to vibration. Arrange the building-in of conduits and inserts as the work proceeds. All conduits shall be high impact P.V.C. conduit or metal where specifically indicated. Conduits shall be laid straight and symmetrical lines with easy sets or bends. Bends or sets must be made without altering the section of the conduit. Where it is not practicable to set the conduit, spring bends shall be used. P.V.C. conduit shall be joined using the Manufacturer's recommended solvent and following closely his printed instructions. Conduits cast in situ shall be securely fixed to the steel reinforcement with heavy binding wiring to prevent the movement of the conduit during the pouring and vibrating of the concrete. Conduits installed in screeds and chases shall be secured at intervals not exceeding 1.5 m. with approved fixings. Conduit stub-ups through concrete surfaces and foundations shall be adequately braced to prevent shifting during pouring. Obtain approval to run surface mounted conduit. Surface mounted conduits, if approved, shall be fastened at intervals not exceeding 1.0 m. Where conduits enter distribution boards and accessories of any kind, the conduit shall be secured at each side of the entry. The conduits, particularly in cavity walls etc., shall be arranged such that, under no circumstances, will they aid the passage of moisture into the building. The wiring of a particular section shall not be carried out until the completion and final fixing of conduits in that section. All vertical drops in Warehouse areas utilizing columns, conduits shall be supported by saddles screwed to the column. Corrugated conduit will be permitted in awkward bends and corners where elbows can not be used. Corrugated conduit will not be permitted in straight sections where rigid conduit may be used Bryden St, Windsor. Job No: 1058 Page 16 of 30

17 1E.03 CABLING General The cabling indicated on the drawings have been calculated with due consideration given to the Standard AS3008. The cables shall run in the most direct manner as practically possible. Due consideration to voltage drop shall be given if alternative methods are chosen due to restraints in building construction imposing longer runs than expected. Capacity As a check to the design, prior to running any cable to equipment such as stoves, hot water units, air conditioning units, etc. obtain the capacities of the equipment and ensure that the cable specified is adequate for the equipment installed. Variations will be considered for upgrading cables from the sizes tendered if capacities are inadequate. Variations will not be considered for removal of cables due to incorrect sizing of equipment or voltage drops. Voltage Drop Every effort must be made to run in a direct method to the equipment to avoid long lengths of cable and voltage drops. Variations will not be paid to upgrade cables due to the inaction, during the construction phase. Upgrading of any cable shall be referred to the Consultant prior to upgrading. 1E.04 UNDERGROUND CONDUITS Underground conduits shall be rigid orange underground UPVC to AS2053. Conduits used underground shall be marked at intervals of not less than 1 metre and in not less than 6mm. lettering, the marking, "Electrical Conduit". Conduit couplings shall comply with AS2053. Reference shall be made to the requirements for underground conduit as set out under Mains in the specification. 1E.05 CABLE DUCTING Supply and install cable ducting above, below or to the side of Main Switchboard as necessary or as specifically detailed on the drawings. The ducting shall be finished in the same material as the Main Switchboard and shall be used for mechanical protection for mains, submains and subcircuits. Furthermore provide ducting wherever multiple cables are exposed when traversing between areas. To support cables in the vertical runs, utilize perforated cable tray and strap the cables on to the tray with suitable cable straps at 600 centres Bryden St, Windsor. Job No: 1058 Page 17 of 30

18 1E.06 DISTRIBUTION BOARD Allow to supply and install a consumer board within each unit as indicated on the drawings. The board shall be as reflected on the schematic, incorporating all circuit breakers, earth bars etc. to ensure a fully worked system. 1E.07 SWITCHES General Supply and install switches as indicated on the drawings. The switches shall be single pole, toggle action mechanism, flush mounted and shall match the power outlets. The flush plates shall be impact resistant polycarbonate and mounted generally as indicated on the drawings. Where multi gang switches are indicated (six and over) supply switches on a stainless steel plate appropriately marked. Where security switches control Security Lighting they shall be coloured red. Switches shall be Hager Blu Series. Samples Colour samples and type of switches (and G.P.O.'s) are to be submitted for approval. 1E.08 GENERAL PURPOSE OUTLETS General All general purpose outlets shall be of the combination of 10 AMP three flat pin type, fitted with flush polycarbonate impact resistant cover plates. The units shall be installed where indicated on the drawings and shall match the switches. GPO s shall be Hager Blu Series. Samples Provide samples as indicated above. 1E.09 PERMANENTLY CONNECTED EQUIPMENT Supply and install wiring for permanently connected equipment - refrigeration, fans, urns, ovens, dishwashers, etc. - as detailed on the drawings. Each item of equipment shall be wired by the use of flexible PVC conduit fitted with standard termination fittings at both ends. Provide an isolating switch adjacent to each item of equipment. 19 1E.10 SMOKE ALARMS General Supply and install a smoke alarm outside each bedroom of each Unit or as otherwise shown on the drawings. The alarm unit shall comply with AS3786 and shall be connected to the 240V supply as well as provided with a 9V battery backup. Supply The alarm shall be wired directly from the Distribution Board and may be connected to a local lighting circuit. Ensure that the alarms are suitable for the area installed. Unit The unit shall be similar to Clipsal Photoelectric Smoke Alarm Series. Interconnection Allow to interconnect all alarms within each Unit so that when one alarm is activated, the others sound off as well. Community Alarm Refer to the notes on the drawings for community smoke alarm details. Hot Water Systems Gas Provide a weatherproof outlet adjacent to the Gas Hot Water Unit to accept a 3 pin plug. Capacities In all cases capacities shall be checked prior to running the cables nominated on the drawings. 1E.12 INTERCOMS AND ACCESS SYSTEM The Electrical Contractor shall allow to supply and install an Intercom system to the complex. The system shall be complete with control panel, master intercom at the main unit entry with associated door entry lock and handset in each unit. Allow for all cabling and associated equipment. 1E.13 LIGHT FITTINGS General Supply and install light fittings as scheduled on the drawings. All fittings shall be of a standard manufacture and shall comply with the latest Codes and their amendments. 20 1E.13 LIGHT FITTINGS (cont) All fittings shall be supplied complete with fuses, lamps and/or tubes and their associated control equipment ready for installation. Ballasts shall be low loss (7.5-8 watts) to the latest standard and all capacitors shall achieve a power correction of.8 lagging. The installation of all light fittings shall be carried out in a workmanlike manner, so that they may be removed without undue difficulty for the purpose of maintenance and servicing. Emergency Lighting Exit and Emergency Lighting Supply and install Exit and Emergency Lights as indicated on the drawing as scheduled. Emergency Lighting Test Control Provision shall be made on the switchboards where the circuits originate to provide contactors and a test switch so that all circuits providing power to the Emergency Lights can be isolated at that point. Mark the switch 'Emergency Lighting Test'. Refer to section on Emergency Lighting Test and controls in Distribution Section of the Distribution Board of Main Switchboard. Wherever HID fittings are used in conjunction with Emergency Lights, the Emergency Lights shall be maintained on for a period of 30 minutes on return of supply to enable the HID lamps to re-strike. Testing Allowance shall be made for the following: Carry out a 90 minute test and submit a letter to the Engineer to that effect. Provide a Test Book to AS2293 as part of the Maintenance Manual filled in with first Test. Demonstrate to the Engineer the controls and circuit connection of all Emergency Lighting. Design This installation has been designed to comply with AS2293 and has been certified by the Engineer. All classifications nominated on the Emergency Light Schedule must be adhered to or the Contractor will be required to make the changes if the fittings installed are not to the classifications specified. Compliance with Act and Code The whole of the installation shall be carried out in compliance with the B.C.A. and the Code AS/NZS Bryden St, Windsor. Job No: 1058 Page 20 of 30

22 1F.01 SCOPE BRADICICH CONSULTING ENGINEERS PTY LTD ELECTRICAL TELEPHONE SYSTEM - 1F This section of the Specification covers the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the Block Cabling and Facility Cabling of the Telephone and Data System for the installation. 1F.02 REGULATIONS AND STANDARD The total work shall be carried out generally in accordance with the Telstra's requirements as set out in Austel's 'Installation Requirements for Customer Premises Cabling' and subsequent amendments. 1F.03 LEAD IN CABLE AND CONDUIT The incoming cable to the MDF from the building alignment will be supplied and installed by the Electrical Contractor. The cable shall be totally enclosed in conduit all the way to the MDF. 1F.04 THE WORK The work for this section of the Project shall include: (a) The trenching and backfill and installation of the conduit to Telstra requirements. (b) The Supply and Installation of: The MDF s complete with terminals as indicated on the drawing. The block cabling from MDF s to each IDF within each riser. The block cabling for each IDF to each unit FDP. The facility cabling from each FDP to the telephone points within the unit. All earthing as required by the Code. 1F.05 LICENSED CONTRACTOR The Electrical/Telephone Contractor carrying out work on these premises shall be licensed under the present Regulations to carry out work of this nature. 1F.06 EARTHING The installation shall be earthed as required by the Local Area Telstra requirements. Check the requirements and comply fully as directed. The earthing of all equipment and the termination of the same shall be generally as required under the Regulations Bryden St, Windsor. 23 1F.07 MAIN DISTRIBUTION FRAMES General Supply and install the main distribution frame (MDF) in the location indicated on the drawings. The lead in cable shall be terminated in the MDF by Telstra. Construction The MDF shall be manufactured to Regulation No. 8. In particular, the MDF shall be a sturdy metal box construction and weatherproof to IP56D and shall meet the requirements of AS1939. Terminal Strip Supply and install all terminal strips nominated on the drawings ensuring there is adequate clearance between the strips and the side of the box to the above mentioned Regulation. The system of terminal strip shall be the Krone-LSA-Plus Terminating System. Mounting Securely mount the box in the location using a minimum of four (4) mounting bolts as required under the 'General' Section of the Specification. Height The height of the MDF uppermost terminal or module shall not exceed 1800mm. above the floor level and the lowest module less than 375mm. above the floor. The general height is stated on the drawings. Identification of MDF The MDF cubicle or box shall be clearly marked on the front door with labels as indicated under 'Labelling'. A Record Book shall be provided within the frame. 1F.08 CABLING General Reference shall be made to Section 6 of Regulation 9 pertaining to Methods of Installation of Cables. Allowance shall be made in this Tender to completely segregate the cables from all other HV or LV electrical cables and under no circumstances shall they be run in the same duct or conduit. Cables shall be supported generally as described in Section 6.4 to 6.9 of Regulation 9. Wherever cables are run in false ceiling spaces they shall be supported off the ceiling using a system of conduits saddled to the underside of the roof purlins and supporting the cables so that the space between the conduits is not greater than 500mm Bryden St, Windsor. 24 1F.08 CABLING (cont) Termination of Cable All cables shall be terminated in accordance with the recommended colour coding for cables as set out in the Regulations. 25 BRADICICH CONSULTING ENGINEERS PTY LTD ELECTRICAL MATV 1G 1G.01 GENERAL This section deals with the supply and installation of an approved MATV/SMATV System for distribution throughout the site. 1G.02 APPROVAL Prior to commencing the work provide to the Architect an approved MATV/SMATV design for the purpose of distributing MATV to the installation and in addition incorporating the SMATV System if required by the tenant. There shall be only 1 system per building, multiple satellite dishes and Antenna s shall not be installed on Individual Buildings. 1G.03 THE WORK Free to Air Provide an independent Free to Air TV System capable of reticulating all local free to air channels and future digital channels. The work shall include: The system shall be able to receive and distribute VHF and or UHF channels within the band with MHz. The antenna/e arrangement shall consist of separate or combined VHF.UHF antenna/e, of appropriate type to supply impairment free signals to the headend. All antenna/e shall incorporate a matched 300 ohm 75 ohm balun. The structure and installation of the mast shall conform with Australian Standard AS1417. Free to air single channel amplifiers or processors shall be installed to minimise cross modulation from unwanted carriers. Single channel filter-equalisers may be installed in smaller systems followed by a wide band distribution amplifier. Where required, line distribution amplifiers are to be installed to achieve the specified minimum signal level at all outlets. Satellite IF System Provide a system to include the following criteria: The system shall distribute satellite signals in the range of MHz. Satellite line amplifiers with built in FTA/Satellite diplexer should be installed where required. Provide an in built power source for powering up of the external equipment. A 18 Volt DC power inserter with a 300mA power supply is to be provided. All passive equipment shall have nominal impedance of 75 ohms Bryden St, Windsor. Job No: 1058 Page 25 of 30

26 The return loss of all devices shall be >=14dB. All devices shall have F type terminations unless otherwise specified. The screening effectiveness of any tap of splitter, measured according to IEC 728 shall be >=75 db in the range of 30MHz to 1000MHz and >=65 db in the range of 1000 MHz to 2050MHz. Splitters must be power passing on all ports, to allow power to pass to the LNB where a passive system is installed. 1G.04 CABLING All cables shall be RG6 and RG11 quad shield flexible coaxial cable utilizing only crimp or compression F Type connectors at the interface between the passive devices and flexible cable. The Contractor shall consider the Basement as the area where all equipment is to be established and utilize the stairway to reticulate the cabling as detailed for the submain and telephone reticulation. 1G.05 COMMISSIONING On completion of the installation, the installer is to provide a copy of the commissioning results and system plans in an Auto CAD format to Foxtel. Upon receipt of the plans, Foxtel will arrange for the installation of the Satellite receiving equipment (dish and LNB) and the testing and commissioning of the system for compliance to FOXTEL s specifications. 1G.06 FOXTEL ACCEPTANCE Details of Foxtel s acceptance is to be forwarded to the Architects for their records Bryden St, Windsor. 27 1H.01 METHOD OF WIRING BRADICICH CONSULTING ENGINEERS PTY LTD ELECTRICAL METHODS, FIXINGS AND FINISH - 1H All wiring shall be concealed in the walls, floors or ceilings unless otherwise specified or shown on the drawings. Generally where there are no false ceilings wiring shall be run in rigid PVC conduits cast into the concrete slab. The conduits in this case shall be kept above the bottom layer of reinforcement steel. Deep or extended type junction boxes shall be used. Wiring within stud walls, roof and ceiling spaces shall be in T.P.S. conductors as scheduled on the drawings and specified herein. Wiring within concrete slabs, chased in masonry and brick walls or exposed on the surface shall be in conductors as specified and enclosed in rigid P.V.C. conduit. In blockwork and concrete walls, wall boxes for switches and G.P.O.'s shall be of the deep or extended type. Carry out wiring on the loop-in system. Jointing of cables and use of connectors will only be permitted at outlets. Wiring shall not be run through light fittings and the like; wiring shall enter and leave at the one point. In false ceiling spaces light fittings shall be connected using the plug and socket system using Clipsal loom wiring accessories. All lighting fittings shall be switched and arranged as indicated on the drawings. The circuit zones for wiring the lighting fittings associated with each distribution board shall be as indicated on the drawings. Accessories shall be squarely fixed to wall boxes, skirtings, architraves etc. using approved screws with plastic heads or covers or chrome plated screws to suit the fittings concerned. Due consideration shall be given to the height of tiling, brick course, or other special wall finishes and outlets shall not be mounted across the junction of different finishes. Where practicable, switches at the one location shall be grouped under the one plate. The locations of light and power outlets shown on the Contract Drawings are diagrammatic and shall be confirmed with the Architect prior to installation. Light switches shall be installed at a height of approximately 1.2 m. above floor level unless otherwise indicated on the Architectural Detail Drawings. Common neutrals shall not be used on single phase circuits unless otherwise specified. Separate earth wires shall be run for all circuits and shall originate at the switchboard concerned and run in same conduit or within the T.P.S. cable of the circuit. All point to point wiring shall be undertaken using the Circuit Schedules Bryden St, Windsor. Job No: 1058 Page 27 of 30

28 1H.01 METHOD OF WIRING (cont) Wiring in the landscaped areas shall consist of T.P.S. cables installed in nonmetallic conduits, manufactured to AS 2053 at depths to comply with Table 20 of the S.A.A. Wiring Rules. Secure accessible T.P.S. cables by approved strap clips. Run T.P.S. cables in a neat and regular manner, concealed except where otherwise noted. Protect exposed T.P.S. cables liable to mechanical damage with approved metal cover strips or steel conduit. 1H.02 WIRING All wires and cables except where otherwise specified shall be TPI in conduit or TPS V75 grade stranded copper conductors. TPS wiring shall not be run where exposed to view throughout the installation. 1H.03 BRACKETS AND FIXINGS Supply and fix in position all brackets, troughs, trays, supporting racks as required for the running of wiring and equipment in general. 1H.04 LABELLING All labels shall be engraved Traffolyte type which shall be firmly fixed to the boards in an approved manner by means of chrome plated metal thread screws. All G.P.O.'s, switches and permanently connected equipment shall be fitted with circuit identification. The identification shall indicate the circuit's origin as well as the circuit number and phase colour. This marking shall take the form of engraved plates indicating the circuit number and switchboard origin. If Clipsal 2000 is used, the removable plate shall be marked - i.e. Switchboard 'D' Power Circuit 'P' Circuit No. 23 D-P23. This shall appear on the top LHS of the plate in 7mm. high letters. Where switchbanks occur on stainless steel plates each switch shall be marked by the use of Traffolyte labels screwed to the plate or engraved paint infill under the switch on the stainless steel as directed. All cables entering or leaving cables from terminal blocks, contactors, relays, etc. shall be marked using the 'Grafoplast' system of marking available from 'Carroll Terminal Company'. 1H.05 FIXINGS All nuts, screws, bolts, washers, clamps shall be cadmium or zinc plated. Where plugs are necessary for the fixing of equipment, conduit and other fittings to floors, walls or ceilings approved metal plastic expansion devices shall be used. 1H.06 PAINTING All exposed metallic materials, wiring ducts, etc., including those mounted in service cupboards, riser ducts, ceiling spaces, shall, unless otherwise directed, be painted to approval after erection with two (2) coats of best quality enamel or lacquer of colours selected by the Architect Bryden St, Windsor. 29 1H.06 PAINTING (cont) Prior to painting these two (2) coats, and between the coats, any blemishes to previous work shall be filled and rubbed smooth. Paint is to be ready mixed and used straight from the original containers without thinning. Preparation of surfaces, priming of previously unpainted work and application of paint shall be strictly as recommended by the Paint Manufacturer. All painting shall be done by an approved firm of Painting Contractors employing men skilled in the Trade. The paint finish on all fittings and equipment supplied under this Contract shall be left in a perfect condition. Any blemishes shall be repaired and, if necessary, the equipment repainted to the satisfaction of the Architect. 1H.07 TESTING Carry out Testing as required under the Electricity Act and its Amendments. He/She shall certify on an official Office Form or Letterhead that he/she has tested the installation and forward the information to the Superintendent. Remove all packing and waste associated with his own work as the job progresses. On completion, he shall ensure that all fittings and equipment installed under this Contract are clean and left in a workmanlike condition. Where specifically required by the Consultant to witness tests, allow to notify the Consultant via the programme or specific indication of the test to be carried out so that the Consultant may witness the tests. 1H.08 CLEAN UP AND FINISH Remove all packing and waste associated with his own work as the job progresses. On completion, he shall ensure that all fittings and equipment installed under this Contract are clean and left in a workmanlike condition. 1H.09 AS INSTALLED DRAWINGS, OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL AND INSTRUCTIONS Provide to the Superintendent no later than one month after Practical Completion, three (3) copies of a Maintenance Manual which shall include instructions to cover every action necessary for the efficient operation and maintenance of the plant and equipment supplied. These shall include instructions for actions to be taken in event of abnormal or emergency conditions. Maintenance Instructions setting out in detail all requirements for preventative maintenance of the equipment supplied. This shall be arranged in sections and recommended daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance. Provide for each section a check sheet for recording maintenance done. Drawings. The drawings submitted shall be of no less a standard than that provided by the Engineer with respect to printing and setting out. Where practical each drawing shall be folded and provided under a cover of a separate manual. Where the number of drawings exceed 5 per set, they shall be supplied as an open 'flat' set with a hard cardboard cover with the Building Head Contractor name and relevant information. Disks can be made available for the Contractor for all Drawings produced under this Contract at a reasonable price to operate on Autocad. (h) Disk Information Disks of the above Instructions, Drawings and alike shall be provided with all of the above Manuals.
