With the integration of the new structure with old structures on campus, new components were designed and produced to match the existing red brick and limestone features of the existing campus buildings. This was a two-phase project that was constructed between football seasons without interrupting the games scheduled. 2 757 Mass Avenue Luxury Condos Indianapolis, Indiana Beilouny Luxury Properties developed the project of a multi-use building with underground parking garage, one retail level and four levels of Luxury Condos. The design team overcame many requirements which included, long spans and transferred loading, and approval by the Indianapolis Historical District. The solution is a total precast design that was produced by Mid South Prestress, a PCI Certified Producer, and erected by Hoosier Prestress, a PCI Certified Erector. 4 Roundy s Distribution Center Oconomowac, Wisconsin Fabcon helped general contractor Opus North Corp. meet the tight construction schedule for Roundy s 1.1 million square-foot warehouse and distribution center by creating a fast and cost-efficient erection process. The Fabcon PCI Certified Erection crew installed the precast panels and Visit (800) enclosed the first half of the building, which includes 550,000 square feet of dry storage, in less than three weeks. The second half, which includes separate cooler and freezer storage areas, was enclosed using standard, insulated cooler panels and then encapsulated using 9-inch VersaCore TM precast panels to provide a more aesthetically pleasing and durable exterior finish. Roundy s selected a combination of exposed and non-exposed aggregate finishes combined with a uniform rib texture. A variety of individual accent panels were also added, forming an attractive, economical and unique exterior design. Technical Notes: The Roundy s distribution center features approximately 327,000 square feet of Fabcon s 9-inch and 12-inch VersaCore precast wall panels. Fabcon crews erected 11,000 sqaure feet per day (30 panels) to stay ahead of the construction schedule. 5 InterContinental Hotel, Atlanta, Ga Precast Facade Brings Elegance to Buckhead The Intercontinental Hotel stands as a flagship hotel with an architectural precast exterior system that matches the look of stone. The owners chose precast for the economy of the materials and the speed of construction. Along with desiring the look of stone, architectural precast also offered the ability to get larger panels with a similar texture and appearance. Integrating the panel designs with a sculptural aesthetic and incorporating accent panels of natural stone within the precast were key design challenges. The unique design requirements and superior capabilities of precast prestressed concrete allowed for the balconies to be constructed with a cantilever on all four sides, providing outstanding views from every condominium unit.
