Each person attending the Fair must wear their badge at all times. Wearing your badge will allow you to access the wonderful things taking place at the RDS Primary Science Fair Limerick. Badges are colour coded. Each colour corresponds with a particular schedule. If your badge is RED, please follow the RED schedule above, and so on. Each group of children will require an accompanying adult from their school with them at all times. Please note the names and numbers of children from your school under the supervision of each adult for your own records. All schools groups are advised to bring a packed lunch. The areas marked on the above schedule indicate the time and venue where you will have your lunch. Students must bring their coats and bags with them at all times. Note for exhibiting schools Please note that groups exhibiting a project at the Fair have been divided across two colour schedules. This is to allow for your project stand to be manned at all times by students from the exhibiting class, along with a minimum of one adult. All students from groups exhibiting projects must return to the Projects Exhibition in T3 at 2.30pm to receive feedback from the RDS Primary Science Fair judges. Remember to enjoy the Fair. 7 At the RDS Primary Science Fair you ll meet: The Ugly Animal Roadshow Lime Tree Theatre. Tara Building The Ugly Animal Roadshow is a family friendly performance that celebrates and explores the incredible biology of the animal kingdom s most monstrous. The StarDome - a portable Planetarium T2, Tailteann Building Discover the wonders of the night sky and step inside the Milky Way to roam the Universe by taking a tour of our solar system in the StarDome. APC s Alimentary Adventures Tailteann Building Alimentary Adventures is an exciting inflatable walk-through tunnel, which recreates the human digestive system on a giant scale. Exploration Dome Tailteann Building Venture along the fractal trail with us, swim with a great white shark, and much more on Earth Science, Maths and Astronomy, in our wonderful Exploration Dome. Irish Aid Drumming Workshops Student s Union, Tara Building Learn how to play an African beat on African drums at this Irish Aid drumming workshop. Irish Aid works to fight poverty in some of the poorest countries in the world, on behalf of the Irish people. Workshops to take place at: 11am, 12.15pm, 1.30pm & 2.30pm each day in the Students Union Lounge in the Tara Building. Space in these workshops will be limited, and participation will be granted on a first-come-first-served basis. Please ask at the Registration Desk for information about how to sign up. Science Show by Science Ireland T117, Tara Building Discover the science behind rockets and air cannons, and experience the fun of science by creating waves and playing musical instruments, from twirling tubes to boom whackers. The Gravity Go-Cart Showdown T116, Tara Building Elementary Engineering present this engineering workshop where students will be divided into teams of four and be challenged to design and build a go-cart that is pulled by the force of gravity. The Science of Juggling The Forum, Tara Building Understand the science behind the basic three-ball juggling pattern, while simultaneously developing your own juggling skills with Johnny the Juggler. Science Magic, Tricks, and Mysteries Stations T2, Tailteann Building It s not magic, it s science. Magic, mysteries and other problems will all be solved by the skills of science at stations for children and adults alike. Fun Science Experiments Show T118, Tara Building Air and sound, visual puzzles, density and oil and water, explosions and gases will all be explored to have everyone laughing, entertained and educated - all at the same time.
