Spring/Summer Inferences Read the following situations and answer the questions. Support your answers using the evidence from the passages! Good luck!
You buckle your boots and click your helmet on. You are glad you have your warmest mittens today. Your pants swish as you walk up to the ticket window to purchase a ticket. You look up to see people traveling up and down the mountain. Where are you? What are you going to do?
You check your tires and chains. You buckle your helmet and pedal toward town with your friends. What are you doing? What do you think you are going to town for?
You have a shovel, rake, and hoe. You have three packets of seeds. You put on your boots and sunglasses and head outside. What are you doing? What do you think are in the seed packets? What season is it?
The bell rings and students rush out the door. There is laughing and the chatter of excitement. Your teachers says to you See you in September! What is happening? What time of year is it?
You smell the chlorine and hear splashes. You put on sunscreen and grab your towel to head out the door. Where are you?
You hear thunder-like booms in the sky. There are children running around with sparklers. Everyone is wearing red, white, and blue. What holiday is it?
You print your boarding pass and put it on top of your luggage. You double check your alarm clock. You are so excited it will be difficult to sleep! What is happening? Where do you think this person is going? How are they getting there?
There are men and women in a room full of machines. There are weights, towels, and water bottles. People are sweating and breathing heavily. Where are you?
The sky is dark. You hear rumbling and see a flash of light. You pull a hood over your head and run for the nearest building. What do you think is about to happen?
You are picking flowers from the garden when you hear a soft buzzing noise. You feel a tickle and then a sting on your arm. What do you think happened? What should you do next?
You reach into the bucket and pull out a slimy, wriggly creature. You carefully wrap it around a sharp metal object. You move away from other people and get ready to cast. What are you doing? What do you think is going to happen next?
You smell a sweet scent in the air. You look around and see many different colors, shapes, and sizes. You reach into your pocket and pull out some scissors. You have a vase ready with water. What do you think is happening?
It is very quiet and there are people walking around the shelves. You walk over to the computer and type in the title you are looking for. You walk to the section of the building where it is located and pull it off the shelf. You walk over to the checkout with it. Where are you?
There are boys and girls dressed up in fancy clothing. There is music playing and the room is decorated. There are two crowns that say queen and king. What is happening?
You are walking down a path lined with grass and trees. You look around and see people walking dogs, running, and playing Frisbee. There are children playing on a swing set. Where are you?
You look at the titles and the times playing. You make your selection and step up to the ticket counter. You hope that when you get inside it is not too full. The lights go dark and it is about to begin. What are you doing? What could the title be?
You decide to surprise Mom by helping out. When you hear the buzzer, you open the door and pull out the warm items. You put your basket next to the table and begin to fold. What are you doing? Why might you do this?
You pour in the sugar and flour. You crack the eggs and begin to mix. You smell chocolate in the air. When the oven beeps you walk over and take it out. What did you make?
You take your list and walk into the store. You fill your cart and wait in line. When the cashier tells you the total, you reach into your pocket but it is empty. Where are you? What do you think happened? What should you do next?
You pull into the parking lot and get out of the car. You walk into the building and look at the numbers on all of the boxes. You put in your key and pull out the items from your box. You see a slip that asks you to see the clerk. You wait in line to pick up your package. Where are you?
One more time. The people. Look for some people. When would you go? Write it down. No way. By the water. All day long. A number of people
List 1 (First 100) The people Look for some people. Write it down. By the water So there you are. Who will make it? You and I A long time What will they do? He called me. Have you seen it? We had their
