6 New Caney Independent School District Children living in Oakhurst at Kingwood and Kings Manor attend New Caney Independent Schools. A good school district is the foundation for any successful community and an important factor for anyone considering a new home purchase. The New Caney Independent School District has retained its Recognized Rating from the Texas Education Agency and is considered one of the Houston area s best kept secrets. The New Caney ISD is heralded among parents and students for its outstanding achievements and appealing size, providing students with a more personal approach to learning.
