The maritime simulator at our Northern Beaches Campus is the closest thing you ll get to being on the sea with none of the risks. It is a full mission bridge simulator and you ll learn to navigate vessels from small charter boats to large passenger ships in changeable weather and from the harbours of the world. By gaining situational experience using current GMDSS radio equipment you ll be prepared for an exciting career in the maritime industry.

4 APPRENTICESHIP & TRAINEESHIPS WHAT IS AN APPRENTICE? Apprenticeships combine paid work and structured training to help you become a qualified tradesperson in areas such as carpentry, electrical, hairdressing and plumbing. WHAT IS A TRAINEESHIP? Traineeships combine paid work and formal training and are available across a wide range of vocations, including office administration, information technology, finance and community health and service. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE? An apprenticeship takes between two and four years and a traineeship between one and three years. Both can be completed part-time or fulltime, depending on your arrangement with your employer. RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING Do you have experience in a specific trade area? You might be able to accelerate your apprenticeship at a pace that is right for you and your employer.
