1 BELOIT ELKS LODGE #864 - BELOIT *ISCONSIN A fraternal Organization NEWS January 2012 beloitelks@charter.net P.O. BOX 857 * BELOIT WI IUA\.IL T IEII) II:?IU IL IE112(~S ICI()112~ IE112 Warm Greetings to allas you read this the busy time of the last six weeks or so for the holidays is over. I trust Santa was good to everyone and you are all ready to continue our "ELKS CARE - ELKS SHARE" theme for A YEAR IN REVIEW: This past year has been a busy one. In May we had our Youth Scholarship Night and Memorial Day Parade. June was our annual Flag Day Ceremony held at the Town of Beloit Fire Department Youth Poster Contest and our New SOUTH DISTRICT went into action. July found Ed Schneider and Donna Luety joining me at the Grand Lodge Convention in Phoenix. Lots of changes were discussed some went into effect in 2011 and others will come up and go into effect after the Grand Convention in Austin Texas. The State Presidents visit rounded out July and a good time was had by all. With fall we started the dictionary distribution to all third grade students in the area. We gave out 808 this year having anywhere from 20 to 108 students at a time for our program. Then the Koeze Nut sale started and for our November salute to our Veterans Donna Luety made a service flag for each Veteran who attended the meeting. December brought on the annual Hoop Shoot contest and our Christmas Party on Shame - Shame on all who said they'd be there and did not show. The dinner was catered and we of course paid for it. We had the honor of initiating two new members this year Joe Graciano on 2-15 and Robert Disch on I'm sorry to say we lost a good ELK "Chuck Shockley" on August I hope everyone will join me and "TAKE PRIDE IN ELKDOM" Fraternally Doris Betz Exalted Ruler CHANGE OF MAILING ADDRESS It is necessary that members submit to the Lodge a change of address if leaving for an extended period of time or moving. The post office does not automatically forward mail. It sends it back to us as undeliverable.
