5 Adding a New Lcatin: Tuch the Edit Lcatins link. Fig. 8. If yu d nt have any lcatin already saved, then yu ll g directly t the Add Lcatin page. If yu already have sme Lcatins saved, then yu ll g t the Lcatins page. Here yu can select a lcatin t edit r delete, r add a new ne. Tuch Save when dne. It saves yur Lcatin and takes yu back t the Lcatins page. Tuch Clse t g back t the main page.

6 Enter the Lcatin name in the crrespnding field (maximum 10 characters). Yu can als add descriptins. If yu are using a Cated Slammer prbe, then select FCT Field Cated Prbe frm the Prbe Type drp-dwn list. Observe that the Misture Table field will change t FCT.

Select the crrect Prbe Length (it is usually 40 cm fr a Slammer prbe). If the Aut check bx is checked, the best interval time will be selected autmatically.

7 If yu are using a Cated Slammer prbe, then select FCT Field Cated Prbe frm the Prbe Type drp-dwn list. Observe that the Misture Table field will change t FCT. If yu are using an Uncated Slammer prbe, then select FLD Field Prbe frm the Prbe Type drp-dwn list. Observe that the Misture Table field will change t SOIL. Select the crrect Prbe Length (it is usually 40 cm fr a Slammer prbe). If the Aut check bx is checked, the best interval time will be selected autmatically. Yu shuld nly uncheck this bx and set the interval time manually if yu are certain that the default interval is nt wrking fr yu. Tuch Save t save the settings and g back t the main page. Fig. 12. Zering the Prbe: Make sure that the Slammer Prbe is prperly cnnected t the Handi-TRASE unit. Hlding the Slammer in air, tuch the Zer Trase buttn. Yu need t Zer the Handi-TRASE each time yu cnnect a different prbe t the Handi-TRASE unit. Once cnnected and zered, yu d nt need t Zer the prbe again. Fig S. Kellgg Ave., Gleta, CA Ph: (805) page 7

8 Take a Reading: Insert the Slammer prbe rds vertically in sil. Nte that the rds need t be cmpletely in sil. Use the Slammer s sliding hammer if needed. Make sure that the rds are cmpletely parallel and d nt diverge while penetrating the sil. Once the Slammer rds are cmpletely in sil, tuch the Take a Reading buttn. Fig. 14. Wait fr the prgress bar t g t 100%. It might take up t 10 secnds. Once the reading is dne, yu ll see the result n the screen. The reading will be autmatically saved. Fig. 15.
