2 Dear Petroleum Club Member, In 2013 the Petroleum Club of Romania (PCoR) continued to serve its members by developing new initiatives and by increasing membership. Our organization sought to make the Club more active by offering more effective support to members respective businesses. The Petroleum Club retained its vision, i.e. to be: The platform for the exchange of new ideas that benefit the Oil & Gas industry as a whole A facilitator of oil industry companies interaction by providing information and opportunities to develop business relationship at all levels A provider of legislative and commercial issues The social meeting ground for major players in the energy industry Since the last General Assembly our association has concentrated upon the following target lines of activity: An increased representation of the oil & gas companies in the Club A wider range of events and activities offered to our members, in Romania and abroad An increased presence in the public events and mass-media Highlights of 2013 In 2013 the Petroleum Club of Romania was involved in organizing 12 events and gatherings: 1. The Petroleum Club representative moderated the Romania round table and held meetings with businessmen interested in investing in shale gas in Romania. As a result of the 2013 cooperation, the organizers offered the Club a free-of-charge booth at the 2014 edition. Talks are underway for organizing a Romania delegation at the 2014 event and for having a Romania pavilion there. 12. Since Jan 1 st, 2014, 4 companies have become members of the Petroleum Club: Marsh Broker de Asigurare Reasigurare, Saltel-Industries, Geoinform, RINA SIMTEX Organismul de Certificare In companies withdrew or their memberships were cancelled as a result of not paying the annual fees: ADX Energy, UTI Construction & Facility, Ferrostaal Christof, Foraj Sonde Tirgu Mures, ep-cm, Ernst & Young, Comoti, Petrofac, Modular Best. As compared to Dec when we had 72 company members with 92 representatives, at the end of December 2013 there were 82 companies represented by 99 people. Thus there are 86 companies in the Petroleum Club with 103 representatives at the time of the 2014 General Assembly. Some of the membership fees were not collected on time. Operations. Representation of the Club. Visibility On the executive level our association was represented by the Executive Director (full time) and the PR Executive (part-time). The Accountant and the Webmaster participated on monthly basis. The Petroleum Club is determined to continue to increase its visibility and the representation of the oil & gas companies in the Club. Together with Industry Media Vector, the editor of the Petroleum Industry Review, we are going to organize 3 conferences this year: SEE UPSTREAM 2014 Conference & Exhibition (Bucharest Crowne Plaza, April 2 & 3, HSE Conference (June) and Romania Gas Forum (November). With the support and participation of the US Commercial Service in Bucharest, the Petroleum Club plans to organize a delegation of oil and gas businessmen 8

10 active in Romania to OTC 2014 in Houston, Texas, USA (4-11 May 2014). A similar delegation will be organized to the 21st World Petroleum Congress (Crocus Exhibition Centre, Moscow, Russia, June 15-20) The Club is determined to continue its valuable partnership with Terrapinn for the Shale Gas Europe 2014 (Expo XXI Centre, Warsaw, Poland, November 24-26) and participate as exhibitor at Expo EnergiE Fair (Romexpo, Bucharest, October 15-18), not only for representation, visibility and new membership, but also in order to attract speakers and participants at its own conferences. Following the partnership signed with Industry Media Vector in September 2008, the Club benefits from free monthly ads in the Petroleum Industry Review, free promotion and coverage of its events and partnership deals for selected seminars and conferences. At the beginning of 2013 a contract was signed for another year with Mediafax for the on-line Petroleum Club banner displayed on the daily Ziarul Financiar energy newsletter ( ZF Energie ), a widely read platform in the energy sector. Our website ( was constantly updated. Members are invited to browse it periodically for the latest activity reports and documents or forthcoming events. Reports and various papers about the oil and gas industry are periodically uploaded at the dedicated webpage: Financial (summary) In 2013 the total revenue was 395,877 RON (approx. 89,585 EURO) with total costs and expenses of 414,609 RON (approx. 93,824 EURO). Thus the result for 2013 was a deficit of 18,732 RON (approx. 4,239 EURO). Taking into account the 2012 surplus of 51,655 RON, the total result is a surplus of 32,923 RON (approx. 7,450 EURO). The financial data are available in detail in the Financial Report for During 2013 all taxes to the Fiscal Authorities and all financial obligations to other companies were paid in full and on time. 9
