3 axisreader App Use the axisreader app with all devices except the Kindle Fire, or Kindle Fire HD. Kindle Fire, or Kindle Fire HD users will use the Blio app. Download the free axisreader app from your app store. Open the app and enter your Adobe ID and password. If you do not already have one, tap Create a Free Adobe ID. Once you are logged in, you will see your Bookshelf. Tap Find a Library at the bottom of the screen to get started checking out books. Type Livingston Parish in the search bar and tap the search button. Livingston Parish Library will show up as a search result. Tap the plus sign next to the name of the library so you will not have to search for it on future visits. Then tap the library s name to be taken to our Axis 360 collection. Search for a title by using the search box at the top of the page, or browse using the options at the top of the page. 3

4 When you find a title you wish to check out, tap its cover. Select epub as the format. Tap the cover of a title you are interested in reading. 4 Use these buttons to browse the Axis 360 ecollection.

5 Tap Add to Checkout List. Go to the bottom of the page and tap My Lists in the lower right hand corner. Under the title, there will be a blue bar, slide the circle in the bar to set your checkout time between 7 and 21 days, then tap Confirm Checkout. You will be asked to enter your library card number and pin. Your pin is the last 4 digits of your library card number. Once you are logged in, tap Download underneath the book title. You will see a message that says Download Successful! Tap Read Now to open the title. Tap the screen while the book is open to see your menu options. Here you can change the font settings, view the table of contents, search the book, place a bookmark, and return to your bookshelf. 6 Blio App Use the Blio app with the Kindle Fire, or Kindle Fire HD. All other devices should use the axisreader app. To download the Blio app, visit and hover your mouse over Research on the top menu. Select Mobile Apps. Scroll down to find Blio and click Instructions for using Blio with Kindle Fire, Kindle Fire HD, or Kindle Fire HDX. Follow those instructions for your device. Go to Tap New Account in the upper right hand corner. Enter your information and create your account. Once your account has been created, open the Blio app, tap Log In and enter your address and password. To begin downloading library books to your Blio app, go to from your device s web browser. Tap econtent, select ebooks, then select Axis

7 Search for a title by using the search box at the top of the page, or browse using the options at the top of the page. When you find a title you wish to check out, tap its cover. Select Blio as the format. Tap Add to Checkout List. Go to the bottom of the page and tap My Lists in the lower right hand corner. Under the title, there will be a blue bar. Slide the circle in the bar to set your checkout time between 7 and 21 days. Once you have set your lending period, tap Confirm Checkout. 7

8 You will be asked to enter your library card number and pin. Your pin is the last 4 digits of your library card number. You will then be asked to log in with your Blio account. Once you are logged in, return to the Blio app. Tap Get Books at the bottom of the app screen. Tap the arrow next to the book to begin downloading. When the download is complete, tap Done. Tap the cover of the book to begin reading. Here you can change the font settings, view the table of contents, search the book, place a bookmark, and return to your bookshelf. 9 OneClickdigital App Download the free OneClickdigital ereader app from your app store. Open the app and enter your Adobe ID and password. If you do not already have one, tap Create a Free Adobe ID. Once you are logged in, you will see your Library. Tap Get Books at the bottom of the screen to get started checking out books. Tap United States/Canada. You will be asked for your OneClickdigital username and password. If you do not already have one, you will need to go to From the top menu, choose econtent. Select ebooks, then choose OneClickdigital. Click Create New Account at the top of the page. Once you have created an account, you can return to the app and log in. Once you are logged in, tap search to find a book by title, author, or keyword. 9

10 When you find a book you are interested in, tap its cover. Information about the book will appear. Tap Check Out. A pop up will appear. Tap Download Now. When the download is complete, you will see a pop up. Tap Read Now. The book will open. Swipe through the pages to proceed reading the book. Tap on the screen to see menu options. You can bookmark a page, change the font, or search within the text. 11 For ereaders: Before You Begin In order to manage and transfer ebooks to your ereader, you will first need to download Adobe Digital Editions. If you do not already have Adobe Digital Editions on your computer, visit This page provides information about Adobe Digital Editions and compatible devices. You can read the page if you have any questions about the software. When you are ready to download, click Download Now under Next Steps on the upper-right-hand side of the page. Click here to download Adobe Digital Editions You will need an Adobe ID in order to authorize your computer to download ebooks through Adobe Editions. If you do not already have an Adobe ID, follow the steps on the Adobe website at to create one. If you need more help setting up Adobe Digital Editions, please ask a staff member or book an appointment at one of our monthly One-On-One Technology Help events. 11

12 Axis 360 To download ebooks to your computer, you will first need to install Adobe Digital Editions. See the Before You Begin section on Page 11 for instructions. Axis 360 is not compatible with Kindles that do not support apps. If you own a Kindle that supports apps, please see the Blio App section on Page 6 for instructions. Visit Livingston Parish Library s website at and select econtent. Click ebooks and then choose Axis 360. This will take you to the library s Axis 360 collection. Search for a title by clicking the magnifying glass in the upper right hand corner, or browse using the options at the top and left hand side of the page. When you find a title you are interested in, click on its cover, then click Borrow. On the right-hand side, select epub as the format and then click Add. This will add the title to your cart. 12 Click here to select epub format. You will see a pop-up letting you know the title will be in your cart for fifteen minutes. Click OK.

13 Click My Checkout List at the top of the page. Beside the title, you will see the option to Select Due Date. Click on the calendar and select your preferred due date. You can check the title out for 7 to 21 days. Once you have selected the due date, click the Checkout Now button. You will be asked to enter your library card number and pin. Your pin is the last 4 digits of your library card number. Once you have entered your information, you will see a notice that your checkout was successful. Click OK. Click My Lists at the top of the page. Select the book you checked out. Then click Download. You will see a pop up asking you what to do with the file of the book. Select to open it with Adobe Digital Editions. You can now read the book on your computer or transfer it to your ereader. Enter your information, making sure to choose the correct options for your eaudio Preferences on the lefthand side. When you are finished, click Create an Account. Note: You may be unsure about your preferences. They will vary based on your device. Once you are logged in, you will see the OneClickdigital home page. 14

15 To search for ebooks, choose ebook from the Filter box at the top of the page. This will narrow your results to only ebooks. From there, you can search for a title or author in the Quick Search box, use the Browse box to browse by topic, or look through the Featured, Newly Added, and What s Popular tabs. Hint: You will know that a book is available in ebook format if it has the book icon underneath the cover. If a book only has the headphone icon, that means it is only available in Audiobook format. Once you find a book you wish to check out, click on its cover. Scroll down to find the ebook edition of the book. Under Checkout for select your checkout period, then click Checkout Now! You will see a pop up asking you what to do with the file of the book. Select to open it with Adobe Digital Editions. You can now read the book on your computer or transfer it to your ereader.
