1 So what am I suppose to do? PHYSICAL ACTIVITY MARKETING PLAN You are going to create a ToonDoo emphasizing the health benefits of a physical activity. You will have four panels to include the following information about your chosen activity: the health benefits; opportunities for social interaction; the challenge of your activity; how you can express yourself and also enjoy the activity. The Toondoo will be displayed throughout the school and community to market your activity. Why do I have to do this? The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) states that students will: Value physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression and/or social interaction. (Standard 6) The ODE also states the students will create a physical education marketing plan to showcase their knowledge. What is it suppose to look like? Below is an example of what it could look like. In ToonDoo you may pick your own characters or create your own characters and background; please use your imagination! You do have to provide the following information and your project will be graded by the rubric on the back of this paper. What are the health benefits of my activity? How can you socially interact with people during your activity? What is the challenge of your activity? What are the enjoyment benefits and selfexpression of your activity?

2 Name Physical Activity Block Marketing Campaign using ToonDoo Get Moving Assignment: You will be creating a ToonDoo emphasizing the health benefits of physical activity. You want to convince the audience to pursue a specific physical activity. You will spend three days in the library media center to complete this project: Day 1: Research the health benefits, social interaction, and challenge or your activity and how you are able to express yourself and enjoy it. Day 2: Using the above information, you will begin creating your Toondoo. Day 3: Your Toondoo is due at the end of the period. 3 Creating Your Toondoo 1. Login to the computer (firstnamelastname). If you are using your own device, 2. Go to the website: 3. Go to the upper right-hand corner of the site and click on the Sign Up for FREE Button. 4. Click on the right box: Sign up for ToonDoo 5. Use your lastnamefirstname as the username and as your password. If you forget these, no one at school can help you. 6. Id: use your personal address 7. Click Register. 8. You will be taken to the home page where you will begin to Make a Toondoo 9. Click on the option in the right hand corner. The ToonDoo Maker will begin to load. The fun begins!!

4 10. You are going to create a ToonDoo emphasizing the health benefits of a physical activity. 11. After you click on ToonDoo Maker, You will select your layout. Select the four square vertical layout. 12. You can create your own characters by choosing the bottom right icon that says TraitR. Save your creation so that it is added to your gallery. You can then drag your creation into your cartoon strip. 13. Begin to choose your backgrounds, design your characters, add your captions, and add the information regarding your physical activity. You can edit, add, search, and draw your own art. Use the tools to enhance your designs 14. Saving Your Work: Be sure to save your work as you go! In the upper left-hand corner of your ToonDoo, there is a ToonDoo sign that says Start Here. This is where you can save. Hover the mouse over this and click on the Save as link. Title your work using your last name and the physical activity that you chose, i.e. Stahr Walking Uncheck the two boxes that would allow others to redoo your ToonDoo and purchase it. Click on the circle indicating share with friends, share with your P.E. teacher, whitmermichele@greenlocalschools.org or eichernathan@greenlocalschools.org at the bottom and click Publish Good luck!!!
