Opening face-off is set for 1:00 p.m. TUNE IN The Friars game against St. John s will be streamed live by Providence College via the men s lacrosse schedule page at friars.com. In addition to a live stream, live stats also will be available. The game also will be available on commerical radio at WOON 1240 AM. Live Stream Live Stats PROVIDENCE VS. ST. JOHN S ALL-TIME Heading into Saturday s contest, the Friars own a 2-14 all-time record against St. John s, since the first meeting in The Red Storm are currently receiving votes in the Inside Lacrosse Maverick Media Poll and the USILA Coaches Poll. The Friars posted two-consecutive victories over the Red Storm in the 2016 and 2017 seasons. In 2016, the Friars defeated the Red Storm, In 2017, Providence netted another 15 goals to win the contest, BOYCE FEATURED ON 2018 TEWAARATON WATCH LIST... The 2018 Tewaaraton Award Watch List was revealed on March 1. The list includes the top players across all three divisions of NCAA lacrosse. Providence College goaltender Tate Boyce (Matthews, N.C.) is one of 50 players on the watch list. The Tewaaraton Award, established in 2001, is given annually to the most outstanding American college lacrosse player. The 18th annual Tewaaraton Award Ceremony will be held on May 31, 2018 at the Smithsonian Institution s National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C. Boyce, the first player in program history to be named to the Tewaaraton Watch List, is one of the most highly decorated players in Providence College lacrosse history. At the conclusion of the 2017 season, he earned USILA Third-Team All-America honors, Inside Lacrosse Media All-America Honorable Mention, All-BIG EAST First Team and BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year recognition. OVERTIME HEARTBREAK ON THE ROAD... The Friars are 0-3 on the road this season, and each loss was decided in overtime. In their first contest of 2018, the Friars fell at No. 20 Boston University, 12-11, in overtime (Feb. 3). Providence then fell to Sacred Heart in OT, 10-9, on March 3 in Fairfield, Conn. In the team s most recent contest, the Friars lost to Drexel, 11-10, in double-overtime. BOYCE RECORDS SEASON-HIGH 16 SAVES AGAINST SACRED HEART All-American goaltender Tate Boyce (Matthews, N.C.) recorded a season-high 16 saves against Sacred Heart on March 3. In the Friars most recent contest against Drexel on March 25, Boyce posted 11 saves.

2 tender has recorded 103 saves over nine games this season. KELLER RECORDS CAREER-HIGH FOUR GOALS In the loss to UMass Lowell on March 6, senior Joshua Keller (Grand Rapids, Mich.) recorded a career-high four goals. His previous career high for goals in a single game was two. He entered the game with just one goal this season, and now has five on the year, which is tied for fourth on the team. ONE-GOAL GAMES Five of the Friars nine games have been decided by one goal, including four of Providence s six losses. Additionally, three of the six losses have been decided in overtime. Providence s lone victory in a game decided by one goal came against Saint Joseph s (4-3) on Feb. 24. KEARNS DISHES OUT THE ASSISTS... Brendan Kearns (Wantagh, N.Y.) posts a team-high seven assists on the season. He has registered one assist in seven of the teams nine games. FACE-OFF GAME The Friars enter the weekend with a winning percentage at the face-off X. Alex George (Simsbury, Conn.) leads the way, having won 46-of-89 opportunities (.517). RJ Romeo (Wilton, Conn.) has seen the second-most reps at the X and is (.493). DOUBLE-DIGIT POINTS Sean Leahey (Cranford, N.J.) leads the Friars wil 19 points on 13 goals and six assists. Five other Friars have cracked double-digits, including Nick Hatzipetrakos (Syosset, N.Y.) who ranks second on the team in points (18). Hatzipetrakos leads the team in goals with 17. Austin Goltz (Orchard Park, N.Y.) (16pts, 12g/4a), Evan McGreen (Narragansett, R.I.) (13pts, 7g/6a), Brendan Kearns (Wantagh, N.Y.) (13pts, 6g/7a) and Ryan Nawrocki (Smithtown, N.Y.) (12pts, 6g/6a) also post double digits in the points category. All six players have scored at least one point in six of the Friars nine games this season. FRIARS HOLD SAINT JOSEPH S TO THREE GOALS The Friars earned a 4-3 victory over Saint Joseph s on Feb. 2. The three goals marked the fewest allowed by Providence since April 23, 2008, when the Friars defeated Wagner, FRIARS PICKED TO FINISH THIRD IN BIG EAST PRESEASON POLL... Providence was picked to finish third in the 2018 BIG EAST Preseason Coaches Poll, with a total of 16 points. Denver was picked to win the league, having collected five first-place votes and 25 points overall. Villanova was picked to finish second, with one first-place vote and 21 points. THREE FRIARS EARN PRESEASON ALL-BIG EAST SPOTS... It was announced by the league on Wednesday, Jan. 24 that Providence College men s lacrosse players James Barclay (Toronto, Ontario), Tate Boyce (Matthews, N.C.) and Conner Byrne (Hicksville, N.Y.) were named to the 2018 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. Boyce and Barclay were each honored as unanimous selections. FIVE FRIARS NAMED TO NEILA PRESEASON TEAMS... Five members of the Providence College lacrosse program were selected to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Division 1 Preseason Teams. Tate Boyce (Matthews, N.C.) and James Barclay (Toronto, Ontario) were First Team selections. Brendan Kearns (Wantagh, N.Y.), Sean Leahey (Cranford, N.J.) and Conner Byrne (Hicksville, N.Y.) were named to the Second Team. WHAT S NEXT Providence is set to hit the road for three-consecutive road games against Georgetown (April 7), Marquette (April 14) and Brown (April 17). The Friars game at Georgetown is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. and will be televised live on Fox College Sports Atlantic. ROAD WARRIORS The Friars will play four of their final five regular-season games on the road. The only remaining home games on the schedule is against Denver (April 21). FRIARS MAKE PROGRAM HISTORY IN The Friars embark on the 2018 season after a historic 2017 season. The Friars competed in the BIG EAST Championship game for the first time in program history, falling just short of the title in a 10-9 loss to Marquette on May 6, PC also achieved it s first-ever national ranking (as high as 20). 10 IS THE NUMBER TO BEAT... The Friars posted a 10-7 overall record (3-2 BIG EAST) in 2017, and finished third in the BIG EAST Conference standings. The Friars 10 victories are tied for the most wins in program history for a single season, and are the most wins since SCOUTING ST. JOHN S The Red Storm have won four-consecutive games and post a 6-2 record on the season. Each of St. John s losses came at the hands of ranked opponents. In its season opener, the Red Storm fell to then- No. 7 Rutgers, 12-8, on Feb. 10. Most recently, then-no. 19 Hofstra was defeated by St. John s, 9-8, on March 24. PLAYERS TO WATCH Three players for the Red Storm post over 20 points on the season. Jason Debenedictis leads the Johnnies with 28 points (20g/8a). Joe Madsen and Colin Duffy follow with 26 and 20 points, respectively.
