3 Course Tutors Clive Bowman is the founder of Community treecycle. He is an experienced landscape professional (a qualified landscape architect), having working in the industry for over 20 years. He operates the day-to-day running of the woodland management, tree surgery and woodfuel aspects of Community treecycle. He is a skilled chainsaw user carrying out commissioned carvings for sculpture, furniture and natural play features. Dick Craig is a man of many talents. He has worked as a welder, tool maker, trapper, as well as run his own successful construction company. He is an experienced and accomplished wood worker and carver, preferring to work in green wood using traditional hand tools. Wendy Jackson is an experienced local bee keeper. Through her job at Claverhouse (social enterprise) she has hives all over Perthshire and Dundee. Jane Wilkinson is a renowned willow worker, now living locally in Alyth. Nancy Fuller Alyth based potter and clay sculptor Ron McGill experienced Alyth based dry stone waller Course location and Facilities All courses are run from the Community treecycle wood yard at Bamff, Alyth. This is a beautiful idyllic rural location with adequate car parking space for up to 10 cars. Toilet facilities are currently a portaloo, with plans to build a compost toilet during The courses will be mostly run outdoors, but we also have a comfortable indoor teaching/working space with a wood stove for those wet weather days. We have a gas stove for on site cooking and making teas and coffees, but we are off the grid so rely on a generator when we need electric power and water collection and storage. Mobile phone signals are weak apart from EE. Unless indicated other wise in the course details, you should bring with you a packed lunch and drinks (a flask of something warm during winter months). You should dress appropriately for our variable Scottish weather and outdoor working. The yard is located several hundred meters above sea level so is often a fee degrees colder than in the town. The yard is rarely muddy, but some courses will require visits to local woodlands, which often are, so suitable footwear is recommended. The site can be found by following the Bamff road north out of Alyth keeping the town square on your right and staying on this road, climbing the hill past the church, and heading out of town past the Den of Alyth on your left and Alyth Woods on your right. Stay on this road for 3 miles, ignoring the left turn to 3

4 Tullyfurgus, the right turn to the back of Alyth Hill and the left turn to Bridge of Cally. You will then see us clearly on the right side. 4
