3 Drilling Equipment The horizontal drilling plant comprises the following: 1. Modified 12 ton bulldozer developed into the drilling rig. 2. Portable air compressor. 3. Mobile hydraulic operated rod skid. 4. Drill support truck carrying air booster, drill water and tooling. Equipment details 1. Drill rig is capable of drilling a 115mm diameter hole up to 400m deep. Ground conditions will ultimately dictate the depth. 2. Drill tramming speed: 3 km/h. 3. Rod recovery rate: 150m per hr. 4. Air-conditioned ROPS/FOPS cabin. 5. Collaring height from 1.5 m to 2.5 m depending on drill pad level. 6. Case-up-the-rod capabilities, enabling slotted casing installed through the drill rods after a sacrificial drill bit is left at the back of the hole. This allows difficult drilling conditions to be fully cased. 7. Mechanical casing installer for 32mm slotted casing. Ground conditions dictate effectiveness mm collar or manifold pipe installed at the drill face into a same-fit hole and pushed in to a depth to case out loose formations in the batter face. This is installed into an interference fit to fully seal the hole for drilling. No foams or cements required. 9. Upon hole completion the 125mm collar pipe is left in the hole and manifold fittings attached to enable plumbing into a trunk line or ring main. 10. A drilling cuttings deflector (stuffing box) is placed over the 125mm collar pipe allowing drill cuttings to be ejected safely at 90 degrees to the batter. 11. The drill mast has the capacity to elevate from the horizontal to drill 5 to 10 degrees up and more if required, and down from the horizontal up to 30 degrees for VWP installation.

4 Drilling Styles Hard rock formations: Down hole hammer consuming compressed air from 350 to to 1100 cfm via an air booster. Medium formations: Down hole hammer consuming compressed 350psi 900cfm. Soft formations: Blade, step and roller bits consuming low compressed air and foam/mud 50 to 75psi 400 cfm. Post hole installations Gamma logging and Vibrating Wire Piezometer: Gamma logging. 50mm un-slotted thread-together casing installed to a pre-determined depth by Geotechnical team. A pulley system is fitted to the end, which carries 6mm stainless cable through the entire casing assembly allowing probes and cables to be drawn from the back of the hole to the front collecting data.

5 Safety Features The front of the drill whilst set up on a hole is 6m from the hole collar or entry point into the wall. This distance places the drill operator 8m and the rod handler operator 9m from the toe of the batter. The time spent at the foot of the wall for the entire hole equates to a matter of minutes. Holes are drilled from 1.5 m above the floor, reducing potential blow out on the berm above. Full water dust suppression to produce a dust-free environment. Enclosed rod guards. Low air collaring circuit to eject high volumes of water safely. Communicating E-stops. Any emergency stop activated in the drill area halts the supply of compressed air as well as the drilling activity. ROPS/FOPS drill cabin. Fully enclosed walkways and platforms around the drill. Hydraulic rod handler. No manual handling of drill rods. Hydraulic rod breakouts. Stilson-free environment. Registered compressor receiver and booster tanks, and registered relief valves. Certified and pre-tested feed and pull back ropes. Compressed air hose register. Individual plant risk assessed. All staff senior first aid trained. Experience in horizontal drilling at Savage River Mine in Tasmania, Bougainville Copper Mine PNG, Woodlawn Mine NSW including pressure grouting, anchor bolts and stress ropes, Boddington Gold Mine, ERA Ranger Uranium Mine, Barrick Gold Cowal Gold Mine, Oz Minerals Prominent Hill Mine, Rio Tinto West Angelas Iron Ore Mine. Thomas Skeffington director Co-founder of Phillington Drilling in Manages client contracts and company finances. Mechanical Engineer graduating from the University of Sydney with Honours in Master of Commerce from the University of NSW in Accountancy.
