2 ModBORE Fine Boring Product Line with New Back Ends (for Roughing and Finishing) Flexibility is a significant topic in fine boring. In order to provide the highest flexibility to our customers, Kennametal is launching a new back end style for the ModBORE fine boring platform. This new version is of especially high interest for customers without HSK or KM spindles. Kennametal offers this as an extension of the well-known and popular ModBORE product line. There are two new back end versions available. For small diameters, the back end is a straight shank version that can be adapted by collet chucks, hydro chucks, or other. The back end option for larger diameters is based on the ER collet shape and can be easily mounted on the chuck by screwing down the locknut. Primary Application All applications that require tight tolerances in position and hole quality. Features and Benefits Flexible and Reliable Main benefit of this product line extension is the flexibility of the back end. It can be easily adapted without any additional system specific adapters and is especially attractive for spindles with different interfaces other than HSK and KM. The new back end version of the popular ModBORE line works with the same blade sets and holders as the established versions. The tools front end is exactly the same, with all benefits, including stability, precision, and comfort.
