If you hit it right there you get a smoooooth cut I wish I were cutting on a laminated specimen.. Rather than this plain ole tree Hmmm Is this smooth enough for the operation to follow. Oldie Goldie Lathe & Tools + NEW Vega Duplicator Richard Wyrick is the contact ( ) and will get a price for anything drawing interest. We know that the old Powermatic is $800, negotiable. The lathe/duplicater is barely used (but maybe $2,000plus) Heck it s about 10 foot long Whew.. Oh yeah a band saw too... Another Lathe for Sale: lathe is a Delta Model , Steel Bed I bought in 2002 and I used it only a couple of times, preferring to work with other equipment/projects. 13 VOLUME 9, ISSUE 7 In memory of. Gary Levi.. 6/30/57 to 7/22/12 We know not who we will meet in our daily paths. Some Good People leave us way too soon. and we sinners are left, amazed and asking WHY? Philip- Another thing you might consider adding to the newsletter if it is not too late. Maybe a "In Memory column" about Gary Levi..... I attended the Memorial service and it was the most moving service that I have ever been to. Not a dry eye in the church. He had served in various missions and humanitarian endeavors in China, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Spain, Kosovo, Bosnia, Peru, Macedonia and, most recently, Afghanistan. What a strong faith and caring spirit. Bill Pope

15 Page 15 BiCity Wood Turning Club Minutes Key items from July 14th, 2012 meeting: - President Bob Salvetti opened the meeting. - Reminder Club dues are due (Lifetime membership question was asked by Tim Jackson) - Meeting minutes none - May was Picnic / June meeting was a non existent - June Treasury report was given by Philip Peckham as Ken was out. The ending balance ~ $6,630 see newsletter for more details. - Demonstration discussions - Fred Clause has volunteered to help out...and spend all our money.. - Discussion on VP vacancy as Bob Salvetti has assumed Presidency with Bob Ingram s resignation. VP slot is still open. - Discussion of Club awareness: to sell the club to the community and get new members we must be seen in the community- - School demos are possibilities Dan Ginter and Dan Steed will investigate - Roy Bridges did a demo at Home Depot - Upcoming demos discussed see newsletter. - Mack Stinson has woodshop tools for sale liquidating most everything see newsletter for details - Seafood Festival October 6 th - Club membership voted to participate... Dan Steed will contact them for details, etc.. -GA National Fair - voted and approved to donate $200 to fair - still would like better communications with the organizers. Bob Salvetti will ask Duane to be our liaison this year. -Wounded Warrior Monday session are alive and well.. Club membership participation on Mondays is requested. 1 st Monday of the month is the Rangers... the 3 rd Monday of the month is other Regular Soldiers - Show & Tell was held - Wood raffle was held - Bob Salvetti gave an interesting demo of the making of Scoops.. Another dittie- I have contact with local high end Cabinet Shop owner Ed James he has old, old wood he must get rid of :( LOTS of heart Pine beams (I mean beams 8 x 8 x 12 foot long) and planks and maybe a few other pieces.
