Machine base and all major castings are made with high qality grey cast iron for sperior rigidity, drability, and thermal stability. Heavy-dty, fixed pretensioned doble-nt C-class ballscrews provide sperior rigidity, machine accracy and repeatability. 1-Station vertical block top plate standard. Environmentally friendly grease lbrication minimizes overall maintenance cost. 9 Strategically ribbed 30-degree slant bed design of one piece constrction. 3 Non-contact magnetic spindle encoder eliminates the need for belted encoder, increasing overall reliability. One-degree spindle orient inclded. 7 Heavy-dty linear roller gideways provide optimm stiffness and rigidity, reslting in heavier ctting capability and longer machine life. GS 10, GS 00 Minimal tool interference Bidirectional trret indexing allows shortest path indexing for redced non-ct time. The non-lift trret indexing ensres contaminant-free operation indexing is by a brshless servomotor with positive hydralic clamping on a 3-piece crvic copling. The trret pivot (safety shear) featre helps prevent damage to the machine. Coolant is fed throgh rond shank tool holders via trret ports, allowing coolant to be precisely directed to the machining operation. Live tooling is not available. GS 0

6 MACHINE OPTIONS GS SERIES Atomatic tool toch probe The retractable probe arm provides qick setp and easy se, enabling atomatic insertion of tool offsets. The for-direction probe makes it possible to toch off both internal and external working tools. The machine can also be programmed to atomatically toch off tools and be sed for in-cycle tool wear and breakage detection. The probe arm swings p to storage position on the headwall. 0-Bar (0-psi) thr-tool coolant This high capacity coolant option provides direct flow of coolant to the active tool ctting operation, providing enhanced chip management, higher permissible feeds and speeds, cooler machining conditions for longer tool life and optimm srface finishes. Robst hydralic Or servo tailstock is flly programmable and controlled throgh the part program. This allows for precise part engagement and applied force. Parts catcher & probe The catcher option allow the operator to conveniently retrieve finished workpieces from otside the machining area dring the machining cycle. The part probe with macros allows in-process workpiece size verifications and atomatic CNC adjstment of work offsets. The probe is capable of performing rapid first-off inspection, in-process reporting and allows lights ot machining. Thermal Stabilization Package GS 10 and GS 00incldes a spindle chiller, circlation fan and, X & Z-axis scales. The X -axis scale can be installed as a factory fit option on the GS0 machine. This option will improve the overal thermal stability and minimize the warm p period.
