2 nordic For the first range of Atelier Pierre living accessories, the creative team at Vanhalst went looking for what is essential, for what is simple. They found it in a Scandinavian design: minimalist animal figures made up of pieces, like a jigsaw puzzle, that are laser cut from a sheet of pale unfinished wood. Atelier Pierre s nordic collection includes a wide range of animal figures, boxes, packaging, and decorative elements. The pure design and the use of warm, sustainable materials such as wood, kraft paper, and recycled cardboard make the items from the nordic range stand out as stylish pieces of decoration that work in every home. A strong connection The nordic animals look elegant against the contours of an alpine peak made from unfinished wood. The little recycled cardboard boxes that hold your jewelry or your precious keepsakes fit perfectly and add a glacier blue, a snow white or a spring green color to the mountaintop. The cases in various shapes and sizes are also made from unfinished wood and bring the entire range together beautifully. Collaboration The nordic range was stunningly created and developed by the young Belgian designer Bert Declercq. With a few strokes of his pen, he drew the contours of a moose, a llama, a rabbit, a deer, and a polar bear. He came up with the idea to have the animals consist of about four pieces that have been laser cut from a sheet of plywood. Putting together the figure creates a strong sense of involvement and adds a playful, hands-on dimension.
