Essence of Australia BASi Members Exhibition rd September 1 st November 2015 The title of our Members Mixed Media Exhibition this year is Essence of Australia, which brings to mind endless ideas to apply to your art works. All things Oz could be explored, Flora, Fauna, Cultural, Heritage, Landscapes, Colours, Country, City WOW the possibilities are endless. We hope this will inspire you to create lots of entries for our exhibition, however a limit of four per artist. The committee has decided to run the People s Choice Award again, we hope you agree it was a lot of fun, but most importantly also gave the artists and the committee good feedback that we are all doing something right. As you can see by the dates this year s exhibition has an earlier time slot, the committee would like your feedback for this exhibition do we have an opening or closing social? We would love to hear your ideas so please leave a note in our correspondence book. Happy creating everyone! Sue Carruthers

If you are interested in increasing what you are doing please let me know. Recently we had Gayle and Doug join us and we welcome them they will be a great asset. The special gallery is working well and it prevents me from being disturbed on my private . I hope everyone is well. Please let me know if anything is happening with you as I don t always hear. Different mediums help in expressing my ideas. The central idea behind Palimpsest is to draw attention to the obvious changes that take place in nature. As hard as it is to see detail, I like to layer images with layers of bright colours. The flower is a symbolic image for change to me as it represents the struggles to grow and mature but in the end it s all worth it due to the beautiful outcome. Other symbols that have the same message, such as an egg, a seed and a caterpillar are seen throughout the work.
