Character List for Murder Mystery with Alice written by Ramona Brown and Chipper Brown April 2013 All Rights Reserved. The Cheshire Cat: is quiet and mysterious. He has always had a thing for the Queen and is willing to do whatever she wants. He has a serious fascination with trees and can constantly be found climbing one. He often speaks in riddles and will try to confuse those he meets. Mad Hatter: was abandoned by his family at the age of 12 after he accidentally stepped on the family cat. He does not like cats, especially those with shifty eyes. He spent many years alone in the woods which caused him to go a little crazy, but he knows how to throw the best parties and can often be found entertaining many guests. His recent parties have been interrupted by an annoying blonde girl. White Rabbit: was the middle child in a very large family. He has a strange obsession with time and always seems to be searching for it. He doesn t have time with the philosophies of Alice as it often makes him late. The Queen of Hearts: raised as an only child, she believes the world to revolve only around her. She has no patience for disobedience or little girls who out do her at croquet. The King of Hearts: suffered with a speech disorder as a child so he rarely speaks. He mostly communicates with head and hand movements only. He acts as though he adores the Queen, but secretly he wishes he were free of her and could spend more time with the cute blonde. The White Queen: is a cousin to the Queen of Hearts but she is more elegant and sweet. She is secretly in love with the King of Hearts and the only person that she has disclosed this information to is Alice. The Red Queen: seethes with jealousy. She is a year younger than her sister the White Queen and feels that she has always been overlooked. She holds a grudge against Alice because she believes that Alice is responsible for killing the Jabberwocky. The Dodo Bird:

was raised by a very rich and prominent family who stressed manners and a very old fashioned way of life. Among his contemporary friends, he comes across a bit awkward and over the top. He does not notice that they sometimes snicker at his old fashioned ways. He has however noticed that the new blonde girl, Alice, will make sarcastic comments about his manners. The Door Mouse: struggles with narcelpsy and can hardly ever stay awake. He is too tired to notice Alice or anyone else around him and just uses his minimal awake time for eating. However, some have told him that they see him out and about in the night but he has no such recollection. The March Hare: went bonkers last March. It was the constant snoring of the Door Mouse that did him in. He has a strange obsession with jam and constantly asks others if they are in need of more jam. He doesn t care for Alice much, because she does not like jam. The Duchess: she is an abusive mother who constantly fills her house with pepper and beats her child everytime she sneezes. When Alice finds fault in her parenting technique and threatens to call CPS, she gives the child to Alice but holds on to a bitter grudge. Tweedle Dee: Twin brothers that have never been separated since birth. Tweedle Dee is left handed and this is the only difference between he and his brother. Is usually happy and silly. Tweedle Dum: Twin brothers that have never been separated since birth. Tweedle Dum is right handed and this is the only difference between he and his brother. Is usually happy and silly. Bill the Lizard: is a moron. He works as a chimney sweep and dreams of being a hero. So far, the closest thing he has ever done to being heroic is rescuing a pigeon from the top ledge of the chimney stack. He tells everyone the story over and over and over again. He s annoyed with Alice because she has mentioned that she is tired of him telling that story. Humpty Dumpty: is spoiled rotten. Due to a misfortunate accident as a baby where his mother accidentally dropped him on his head, she tried to make up for it by giving him anything and everything he ever wanted. He does not know the meaning of the word no and will throw a mean fit whenever he pleases. The White Knight: He is an inventor of things that don t really need to be invented. He is spacey and often distracted during conversations. His latest invention is a portable chin rest and is currently

working on a headset that holds a roll of toilet paper. Caterpillar: was abused as a child and thinks the world is out to get him. Because of this, he tries to get everyone else first. He is mean all the time. He has a special hatred for Alice because his mother was a blonde. The Mock Turtle: is an old man that believes everyone likes him. He tells stories that he believes everyone to enjoy when in reality they don t. The Gryphon: is always quick to stick up for the mock turtle and never leaves his side. The fish footman: very politically opinionated. He is a staunch Republican. the frog footman: very politically opinionated and is a very liberal Democrat. Knave of Hearts: Stubborn, quiet and stuck up. He believes he is all that! Four of Spades: he is a gardener and loves to dig up the earth and plant new things. Ten of Diamonds: she is addicted to the color red and anything that is shiny and glittery. Two of Clubs: is not very bright and is obsessed with being like the 10 of diamonds. She never leaves her side. The Tulip: mean girl of the group The Daffodil: another mean girl of the group The Rose: the sweet mother figure

Script for Murder Mystery with Alice Written by Ramona Brown and Chipper Brown April 2013 All Rights Reserved. 15 minutes into the party, the narrator announces to the guests that Alice has been found dead. Soon after this, the following notes are served to the corresponding guests: 1. to the Red Queen: You saw your sister, the White Queen, and Alice in a very serious conversation yesterday afternoon. You weren t able to hear most of what they were discussing, but it had something to do with the Queen and King of Hearts. Inquire with the White Queen further. 2. to the March Hare: You were out late last night jam shopping with the Mad Hatter for tonight s party. You saw the Door Mouse creeping around the hedges near the Queen s Rose Garden. You are curious as to what he was up to. 3. To the Caterpillar: You know right from the start that it was the Queen of Hearts. Who else could it have been? If only everybody could see the obvious answer behind this madness. You decide to investigate for sure proof. 4. to the Dodo Bird: You have a problem with the Duchess and her abusive nature with her baby. It is not lady like or classy for her to act this way. You confront her about this to see if she is willing to take formal manner training. 5. t o Bill the Lizard: You confront Humpty Dumpty about the screaming fight you witnessed between he and Alice just a week ago. You even saw him pulling her hair. 6. to Humpty Dumpty:

You recall having a slight disagreement with Alice last week over the color of the roses. You told her not to worry about the white roses and that the cards are over reacting. You tell her that she is being a little manic over something as simple as flowers. You don t understand why she doesn t believe you and may have gotten a little upset. When Bill confronts you about the slight altercation, you tell him that you were only helping the Queen out because you knew the roses were the wrong color but you hadn t spoken to Alice since. Perhaps the Queen of Hearts knows more about what happened to Alice. The Mad Hatter interrupts everyone s chatter with a game The narrator interrupts the nonsensical game with the latest report of Alice. It has been released that Alice was found dead among the rose bushes of the Queen s Court. The following notes are delivered: 7. To the Queen of Hearts: Just before Alice disappeared, she left you a note that your husband the King was not really in love with you and because you have been so self involved, it would be best to let him go, so he can find true love. Alice hinted that someone else was truly in love with the King. Try to find, among the other women present, who may be interested in your husband. 8. To the Duchess: You are offended by the Dodo Bird s bluntness and request to take manner classes. Not to mention this is not the first time. In your anger, you decide to spread rumors concerning him and Alice To the White Rabbit: You remember just a few days ago that Alice informed you privately that the White Queen was in love with the King. You don t know how, but perhaps this piece of information is related to the murder. Investigate further. 10. To the White Knight: You remember the Mad Hatter being quite angry after last week s party when Alice ruined it all merely by showing up. You can t remember much of what was discussed, but the name Alice was brought up quite angrily many times during the conversation. 11. To the White Queen: You are tired of your cousin, The Queen of Hearts, having the man you are in love with. You

are more bold in your conversations and flirtations with the King. 12. To the Mock Turtle: You are concerned that perhaps the Mad Hatter is behind this mysterious murders. You know that his tea parties have been getting more and more out of hand. Perhaps a murder could create just enough suspense to keep the guests wanting more... Investigate further. Ask around for hints as to the Mad Hatter s innocence or lack thereof To the Cheshire Cat: You hate seeing the Queen of Hearts so distraught. You don t know what is going on with her but you start to inquire with her cousins (The white queen and the red queen) to see if they know what is going on. You overheard Alice telling the White Rabbit that the White Queen is secretly in love with the King of Hearts. 14. To the Mad Hatter: You are the ultimate host! You go from group to group entertaining your guests with your nonsensical chatter and rhymes. You also find it fun to overhear snippets from one conversation and twist things a bit and share it with other groups. You are great at starting small rumors! At around 8 pm (or 1 hour into the party) the narrator interrupts the guests with more information. Alice was found among the rose bushes in the Queen s Court and she had been beheaded. The following notes are delivered: 15. To the Caterpillar: You are tired of all this nonsense. You know more than anyone else seems to. You bring up the fact that the Queen was stark raving mad when she discovered that her roses had been painted over. You heard her say that she would cut off the heads of everyone responsible. 16/17. to Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum: you and your brother are a bit distraught because you have lost your new rattle. You were both playing with it earlier in the morning but haven t seen it since. You begin to playfully blame each other, but gradually your banter escalates and you both get a little angry. 18. to The White Knight:

You have been associating yourself with Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum for some time now and find that although they are usually very happy and playful, occasionally they can lose their temper and get very angry. Often after their outbursts, they don t remember what they said or did. 19. To Humpty Dumpty: You begin to wonder if perhaps the Mad Hatter is behind this murder. After all, the man is stark raving mad. Investigate further and ask around to see if others know anything about the Mad Hatter s whereabouts last night. 20. to The Queen of Hearts: You gather your card soldiers to help you discover who is in love with your husband. You tell them that you want their head on a platter. You don t truly mean it, your words are far more scary than your actions. 21. to the Cheshire cat: You believe that it is time the Queen know the truth about her husband. You inform her that her cousin the White Queen has secretly been in love with the King for some time now. And you also tell her that you suspect the King to have been in love with Alice. 22. to the Red Queen: You overheard the Cheshire cat tell the Queen that the King was in love with Alice and that your sister was in love with the King. Although you did not care for the blonde girl yourself, you would not have wanted any harm to come to her. You believe that your sister killed her so she could have the King to herself. Investigate further, but do not tell anyone what you know. 23. To the White Rabbit: You worry with the murder that the doormouse and his narcolepsy may have been involved. You confront the March Hare about this concern. Fight for this information, you don t let up seeking out answers. At this time the mad hatter starts up a game. After the game is done, the Narrator returns with another announcement, that the murder took place at around midnight the night before. Next to the murder weapon was a small baby rattle. The following cards are delivered:

24. To The Red Queen: On your way to the authorities with your information about the murder, you overhear two people discussing the murder, but before you could see who it was, you somehow lost your head. You are now dead. Follow the messenger immediately. Do not speak a word to anyone. 25/26.To Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum: You realize that the rattle found at the scene is probably yours. You begin to argue over who s fault it is and in the passion of the argument somehow a second body appears, but the next thing you know, it is dead. The narrator announces that the Red Queen has been found beheaded. 27. To The King of Hearts: Right before the Red Queen was found dead, the Red Queen confided in you that her sister was in love with you and that the Queen of Hearts had learned of your love for Alice. You believe it was the White Queen who killed Alice and her sister the Red Queen. 28.The March Hare: While you have been eating jam and crumpets with the White Queen, you get word that the Doormouse has gone missing again and you haven t seen him for awhile. You also notice that Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum have been fighting with each other a lot. You go to see if everything is alright with them. 29. The White Rabbit: You see the Door Mouse wandering around and ask him where he has been. He is acting very strange and avoids your questions. He doesn t seem to know anything more than that he has been sleeping. 30.to the Duchess: You are still upset about that dumb blonde girl and you don t hide that you are a bit relieved that she is gone. You tell this to the Caterpillar. 31. to the Dodo Bird: you saw Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum playing with a new toy yesterday. Today it seems that they have been arguing a lot. You know they are set off easily, so you wonder if there is any relation.

32. to Bill: You have lost your head. Please follow the messenger. 33. To the Door Mouse: You learn that Alice and the Red Queen were both killed by the same sword. You are too poor to own a sword like that so even though you know you ve been out wandering at night, there is no way you could have killed them. You only wish you could remember if you had seen or heard something that would help in the investigation. Narrator returns and announces that Bill is dead. The following notes are delivered: 34. to the Cheshire cat: You are afraid that it was the Queen of Hearts who has been doing the killing. You want to protect her so you begin to build suspicion against the White Queen. You want others around you to believe that she is behind the murders. 35. to the White Queen: Now that your secret is out about your love for the King and with the death of your sister, you want to make sure that the Queen of Hearts pays for the murders she has committed. You tell your suspicions and feelings about this to the Duchess. 36. to the Dodo Bird: Recently, you were seated close to the Door Mouse as he was drifting in and out of sleep. You heard him whisper, stop, stop boys, don t hurt her. Then he continued to snore. A few minutes later, he woke up with a start and said, just take your rattle and go back to playing. 37. to the Queen of Hearts: You are now the one to lose your head. Please follow the messenger. 38/39. to Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum: The day has been full of fits of anger between each other. You realize that at your feet is a bloodied sword and the head of the Queen of Hearts. You look at each other and swear to not tell another living soul about this. You will do whatever it takes to make it look like others were

involved, not you. Narrator makes the announcement that the Queen of Hearts has been found dead. He asks for ideas for suspects. Guests will call out those who they suspect and the trial will begin shortly. In the meantime, the Mad Hatter, suggests another game! Game... Trial. The suspects are brought forward and the formerly murdered characters will now become the jury. The narrator becomes the judge and the jury is seated behind him to the left. Each Suspect will have 2 minutes to make their case. Each remaining character will tell who they think it is and why. The Judge will keep track of their answers. At the end, the jury will vote on the one person they believe it is and then the truth will be revealed. **Where it refers to games by the Mad Hatter, these can be any type of fun, short party game.
